The Rise of the Jin Kingdom.
The Jin Kingdom is a nation that has suddenly emerged from the darkness of Hidden after four years.
In the Jin Kingdom, all Subjects are equal, with no distinction between nobility and commoners, and benevolent governance is practiced. The Jin Kingdom has established a sound system, where the ruler is Young Master Jin, assisted by the four Prime Ministers: Chen, An, Yan, and Gu. However, the Jin Kingdom has also implemented a system of representatives for the people, elected from among the Subjects based on their virtue, capability, and reputation to serve as regional representatives. Every three months at a grand assembly, these representatives report on their area's development and provide their opinions and suggestions on current issues or significant national matters. Ultimately, decisions are made through voting led by the four Prime Ministers. Given the significant power and responsibilities of these representatives, any discovered bribery, corruption, or abuse of power against the people will result in immediate dismissal upon verification through investigation. The major affairs of the Jin Kingdom involve participation from the Subjects to ensure fairness and consideration for all.
The Jin Kingdom has also established a system dividing regions into districts and towns, where officials at every level are elected by the people. If any official violates laws or fails to achieve results during their term, they will be dismissed. The vast Jin Kingdom spans across an entire continent. The Subjects are primarily composed of the ancient Maya People, along with those from Yan State and neighboring countries such as Chouchi Kingdom, Later Liang Kingdom, Great Xia Kingdom, and Uhuan Kingdom, which have all become vassal states of the Jin Kingdom. Additionally, many who could not survive under the rule of other nations have found refuge in the Jin Kingdom. They love the Jin Kingdom and cherish their Young Master Jin.
Unlike other nations, the Subjects of the Jin Kingdom genuinely adore their Young Master.
However, this Young Master is particularly mysterious; aside from the four Prime Ministers, no other officials have seen his true appearance. During assemblies or when giving instructions, he always appears ethereally wearing a silver mask. After speaking, he leaves without any delay.
Yet it is his eyes that are unforgettable. They shimmer silver with a captivating purple hue, sparkling as if water flows within them; yet they possess an astonishing coldness. His soft yet indifferent gaze often gives people a feeling of being seen through; everything before him seems to lose its disguise and has nowhere to hide. The Young Master rarely praises anyone but will not hold back compliments if someone performs exceptionally well. Those praised by him become the most respected and envied individuals; thus, every official works diligently in hopes of receiving acknowledgment from the Young Master one day—a moment they consider most glorious.
However, they have also witnessed the Young Master's cold-blooded cruelty towards officials who fail to serve the people well or even harm them. The Young Master never shows mercy; punishments can be unforgettable and make one wish for death. Therefore, few officials dare to act selfishly or neglect their duty to serve the people during their tenure.
If one argues that this is unfair to officials due to insufficient salaries to support their families, they would be mistaken; the salaries provided by the Young Master are quite generous—indeed very high. The more upright and effective an official is, the greater their bonuses and salaries will be. Those without achievements receive little; after several chances to alleviate people's troubles if they still fail to do so, a dismissal notice will soon follow.
That white notice exuding a faint floral fragrance is referred to as the "White Angel." (It is said that this name was given by the Young Master's daughter after hearing many stories about angels.) The legend of this angelic daughter of Young Master Jin is particularly well-known throughout the Jin Kingdom.
Typically, those who receive this notice faint on the spot—much like receiving a summons from Yama.
At the beginning of its rise, various monarchs did not pay attention to this nation that was scattered across different regions and hidden beneath various countries. However, by the time they realized their fatal mistake and negligence, it was already too late.
The rapid growth and strength of the Jin Kingdom had become unstoppable. The Jin Kingdom had long since captivated the world.
Nevertheless, what gave them a glimmer of hope was that the Jin Kingdom had no intention of annexing any nation. Instead, it established a new world beneath the surface world—a new dawn in a new realm.
This time, several countries on the mainland felt a sense of fear towards the existence of the Jin Kingdom and decided to convene a grand assembly to discuss how to eliminate it.
The meeting was held in Later Qin. Among the participants were the largest nation, Jin State, along with the Xiongnu, Tujunhun, Yan State, and others. Some hidden allies, also vassals of the Jin Kingdom, were invited as well. Clearly, the initiators of this assembly, the monarch of Later Qin, were unaware of many crucial matters.

"Chen Wen, have they all set off?" A man with an increasingly seductive face wore a playful smile.
"Yes, my lord. The monarch of Xiongnu was the first to depart and has already reached the border. The king of Yan has also set off; I heard that even the usually mysterious Princess Chang is coming this time. The others will arrive in a few days," replied the man in black respectfully.
"Mm." The man's expression darkened slightly. "Do they really naively believe that this assembly will yield results? This must be one of that old thief's schemes."
The man in black remained silent.
A slight ripple appeared in the cold, empty eyes of the Seductive Man as he softly said, "We should set off as well. It’s time to fulfill this appointment."
"Yes. I will prepare immediately."
The man in black quickly disappeared from the vast hall, leaving the Seductive Man alone in the shadows. He gently caressed the jade pendant in his palm, recalling countless days and nights spent thinking about her face and everything about her, unable to sleep.
Was her departure meant to ensure that he would think of her day and night, unable to forget her, never finding peace for a lifetime?
With a long sigh, his expression grew even more desolate.
At that moment, a figure resembling a eunuch entered respectfully and softly asked, "Your Majesty, shall we rest now?"
Sima Rui nodded slightly in the darkness.
The young eunuch turned to leave, but hesitated for a moment before asking, "Your Majesty, would you like to summon a consort?" It had been a long time since he had called for any consort to share his bed. The harem had been filled with whispers of discontent. Although he protected his master, after all these years, he had suffered enough punishment.
His pain, his regret, his sorrow were all too clear to him each day. He never realized that love could bring such torment, as if one night had turned desolate, as if he had become a different person, as if he had lost his soul, as if there was no longer any vitality left to live.
If this was the punishment, then after all these years, it was truly enough. He stood by his master’s side, sharing in his pain and suffering. Even his own heart ached.
Sima Rui was momentarily taken aback, seemingly not expecting the question. Wasn’t he the one who loved his master the most? Wasn’t he supposed to be the one who hated him the most? After all, he was the one who had caused his master’s demise. Sima Rui forced a bitter smile.
"Consort Wang, perhaps?" Xiao Quanzi asked softly.
Sima Rui felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. He had forgiven him, but he could not forgive himself.
He remembered that several years ago, although he served by his side and treated him with respect, even this servant held a dignity similar to that of his master. Though respectful and humble on the surface, it was merely an act of following orders; he had never truly cared for him or considered his new master’s feelings. He had been almost distant and indifferent towards him, constantly reminding him of his past actions and the debt he owed her for a lifetime that could never be repaid.
"Not today; let’s talk about it another time." His voice was dry and tinged with helplessness.
