Arthur stood there in silence, his expression complex and difficult to discern. His inner struggle made it impossible for him to determine whether all of this was real or just some absurd joke. The secrets of Lavender Town, the words of Master Yuan Yi, everything seemed beyond his comprehension. He felt a sense of powerlessness, not knowing whom to believe or what to do.
Master Yuan Yi looked at Arthur and said in a calm tone, "Go."
Arthur raised his head, frowning, "Where to?"
"The place you went last night... Potter's Field." Master Yuan Yi's words surprised Arthur.
Arthur remembered getting lost after last night's drunkenness, the terrifying hallucinations, and the suffocating nightmares. These fragments intertwined in his mind, forming a disturbing picture. He asked in confusion, "Why did you go there? How did you know I was there last night?"
Master Yuan Yi gazed deeply at Arthur, with a hint of bitter smile on his lips: "Potter's Field is not just a place, it is the memory of Lavender Town's past, as well as the source of present pain and sorrow. What you saw and felt last night was not a coincidence, but a kind of guidance. Perhaps, you will find some answers there."
Arthur's confusion deepened as he was unsure whether to believe Master Yuan Yi's words. However, he knew that in order to unravel the mystery of this small town, he had to explore and seek the truth himself. In this place filled with unknowns and shadows, every step could lead him deeper into the fog, but he had no choice but to continue forward.
Arthur gazed at Master Yuan Yi, feeling increasingly pressured by his words. Master Yuan Yi's eyes held a deep and serious light as he said, "You have been targeted. Here, you must be extra careful. Do not easily trust any voice, stay vigilant. Your purpose in coming here, your will, must remain firm. Otherwise, all that awaits you will be pain and death."
Arthur gazed at Master Yuan Yi with a look of confusion and concern. Master Yuan Yi's gaze was deep, as if hiding endless secrets and pain. He slowly lifted the hem of his robe, revealing the skin around his waist. On the pale skin, there was a deep indentation, irregular in shape, with rough and uneven edges, as if a powerful force had violently taken away a part of it.
Arthur stared at the hollow, his breathing becoming heavy, his eyes filled with shock and incomprehension. Master Yuan Yi's voice carried a deep sense of sorrow, "This... is the price I paid when I attempted to delve deep into the truth behind it. It's an invisible force, powerful and cunning. It took a part of me, leaving behind this permanent mark."
Master Yuan Yi's voice carried a hint of sadness: "Everything may come at a great cost. You must be careful not to repeat the same mistakes."
His fingers lightly traced the indentation, and Arthur could see his hand trembling slightly. Master Yuan Yi continued, "In this small town, every step of exploration comes with great risks. This indentation is the mark of the unseen force, a warning to me. You must stay vigilant and not repeat my mistakes."
Arthur's heart was pounding fiercely, and the words of Master Yuan Yi echoed in his mind. He looked at Master Yuan Yi's aged face and the chilling hollow, filled with doubt and fear. What terrible secret does this town, this mist-shrouded Lavender Town, hide? And how should he, Arthur, face it all?
Arthur's gaze wandered, filled with conflict and unease. Each word from Master Yuan Yi felt like a heavy stone dropped into his heart, stirring up ripples. Master Yuan Yi's hand landed heavily on his shoulder, bringing Arthur's thoughts back to reality.
"Think carefully about the cost and potential consequences of doing so," Master Yuan Yi's voice was low and serious, with each word seeming to carry profound meaning. "Do you really have the determination for this? Are you willing to abandon your existing beliefs? Can you stay resolute?"
Arthur stood there in a daze, Master Yuan Yi's words echoing in his mind. He knew that faced with such an extraordinary event, he had to reexamine his beliefs and determination. This was not only a challenge to himself, but also a test of his duty as a detective.
Arthur's eyes gradually became firm in Master Yuan Yi's words. In his heart, a fierce battle was taking place with his inner fears and hesitations. He knew deep down that this investigation would be an unknown and dangerous path, possibly overturning his worldview and even facing unprecedented threats. However, he took a deep breath, lifted his head, and his eyes sparkled with determination. He knew that this investigation would be one of the biggest challenges in his life, but he was ready. He firmly told Master Yuan Yi, "Yes, Master. No matter the cost, no matter what truths I may have to face, I will face it head-on. It is my responsibility, and it is my choice."
Arthur lifted his head, his gaze resolute and profound, with an unyielding light in his eyes. He took a deep breath and slowly said to Master Yuan Yi, "I know what I'm doing, and I know the possible consequences. But if I back down, won't the missing people, their families, and their hopes all be in vain? I can't give up, at least, I have to try."
Master Yuan Yi Looking at Arthur's determined eyes, there was a hint of comfort and respect in his own. He nodded gently, indicating his understanding of Arthur's decision. He said, "Your courage is admirable, but please remember, every step here needs to be taken with great caution. You are not only fighting a visible enemy, but also an unknown presence hidden in the shadows of this small town."
