Kevin felt a splitting headache, but a strange survival instinct drove him to try to focus his thoughts. The damp and musty smell hit him, as if all of this was some notorious basement or forgotten space. He struggled to open his eyes, everything was blurry, but gradually his vision began to focus. The pain seemed to reverberate in his head, almost driving him to the brink. Everything in front of him was blurry, but a strong survival instinct urged him to concentrate and assess the situation urgently. He took a deep breath, only to find his nostrils filled with mold and moisture, even carrying a hint of decay. This smell reminded him of a basement, or some long-forgotten space. 0

Struggling to focus his gaze, Kevin first noticed the carpet. It was an unsettling monotonous yellow, interspersed with various shapes and sizes of dirt stains, as if time and neglect had collaborated to paint a picture full of horror and oppression. Some areas of the carpet even had irregular dark lines, looking as if they had been pressed by something heavy, or worse, as if something had crawled over them. These dark lines seemed random, but seemed to conceal some unspeakable secret. 0

He tried to move, but found that every muscle and bone in his body was warning him. Every small movement brought waves of piercing soreness, as if his body had just experienced some incredible change or torment. Kevin gritted his teeth and slowly sat up. Above him was a low ceiling, which should have been white, but years of accumulation and dirt had made it pale and dirty, like an old photograph. 0

At this moment, he felt even more keenly the abnormality and oppression of this space. The walls around him were extremely dilapidated, with not just cracks and blemishes, but those cracks even seemed dark and deep, as if something could crawl out at any moment. The entire room had only one door, which looked extremely old, with the wood beginning to rot, but it was tightly closed. There were deep scratches on the door, as if someone or some creature had tried to open it, but to no avail. 0

All of this made Kevin feel an indescribable sense of unease and fear. He understood that this space was definitely not an ordinary place, and perhaps, there were worse things hidden here than he could imagine. However, he couldn't quite grasp the meaning of it all. But deep-seated fear and unease had quietly taken root in his heart, making it almost difficult for him to breathe. 0

Kevin felt as if he were trapped in an inescapable nightmare. Every inch of the walls seemed to be made of solidified despair and fear, and every brick exuded a gloomy atmosphere. The dim light seemed more like the eyes of some evil force, mercilessly watching him. He tried to recall how he had ended up here, but whenever his thoughts approached that moment, it was like hitting an invisible wall, preventing him from moving forward. 0

Surrounded by this strange and oppressive environment, the pressure in Kevin's heart grew stronger. He felt as if his whole body was being crushed by a heavy weight, every muscle and nerve screaming in protest. He wanted to stand up, but found himself unable to do so. As he lowered his head, a shocking scene appeared before his eyes. 0

His body was no longer made of flesh and blood, but had transformed into square blocks, as if directly jumping out of the game " Minecraft." Even his fingers had become stiff blocks, and so had his toes. In that moment, Kevin felt that his psychological defenses had completely collapsed. 0

"Ah—!" He let out a heart-wrenching scream, the sound echoing in the enclosed space as if triggering some kind of taboo. At that moment, the entire room began to tremble slightly, and the ancient, decrepit door seemed to be touched by something, emitting a low, creaking sound. 0

Kevin felt as if his heart was being tightly squeezed, every heartbeat causing him excruciating pain. He understood that this place not only concealed secrets beyond his comprehension, but also could be a deadly trap. This pressure and fear seemed to form an invisible hand, tightly gripping his soul, making it impossible for him to break free. 0

In this moment of impending collapse, Kevin suddenly realized that if he couldn't find a way out, find an explanation, then he might be forever consumed by the terrifying atmosphere here. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. But even so, the fear and despair that surged from the depths of his heart could not disappear. 0

The overhead fluorescent light emitted a buzzing noise at an ear-splitting volume, as if a huge engine was running at full power. This continuous and high-decibel sound made Kevin feel like his eardrums were about to burst, as if countless small insects were constantly drilling in his ears. His head hurt as if it were being pulled by two oppositely polarized magnets, with every nerve cell sending out signals of pain. 0

He covered his forehead with his palm, trying to suppress the overwhelming discomfort with force, but to no avail. His breathing became rapid and shallow, each breath feeling like a tug-of-war with death, struggling to draw oxygen into his lungs. His heart raced as if it might leap out of his chest, like a startled rabbit fleeing for its life. 0

Yet, at that moment, the faces of Alan and Mary suddenly appeared in his mind. They had also encountered a similar situation before entering this backroom. This thought forced Kevin to pull his attention away from the pain, attempting to focus on solving the problem. 0

He secretly reminded himself that no matter what brought them here, no matter what larger conspiracy or hidden danger lay behind it, he had to find Alan and Mary first, and then find a way out together. Otherwise, they might be trapped in this ghostly place forever. 0

The thought was like a lightning bolt, instantly illuminating the darkness in his heart. Kevin took a deep breath, feeling it expand in his lungs almost to the point of bursting, and then exhaled forcefully, releasing the tension and panic from his body. 0

He closed his eyes, took a few deep breaths, and then opened them again. His gaze became sharper, focusing on every corner and detail of the room. He knew that in this environment full of unknowns and dangers, any small clue could be the key to finding the answers. 0
