The night falls on the streets of Japan, with neon lights flickering in the darkness, as if foreshadowing an unusual event about to occur. A gust of wind blows through, and many objects resembling steel balls appear in the sky, drifting with the wind before eventually landing on the ground.
These spherical objects are not only peculiar in shape, but also seem to possess a life-like quality. Before long, they sprout tails and transform into worm-like creatures resembling snakes. Their antennae are sharp, with some smaller ones, evoking images of sea monsters from the depths, leaving everyone feeling unsettled.
On a relatively quiet street, a dog barked wildly, looking up at one of the creatures. However, the dog's barking seemed to have no effect on the creature, instead drawing its attention. The creature quickly burrowed into the dog's body, immediately taking control of its nervous system.
Almost simultaneously, another creature stealthily climbed up a nearby residential building. It chose what seemed to be an ordinary family and then burrowed in through a crack under the door.
The master of the house is a middle-aged man named Sato. He is lying in bed, immersed in a sweet dream, completely unaware of the tiny intruder.
The bug slowly but steadily crawls to Sato's bedside, then burrows into his ear.
Sato suddenly felt something in his ear and instinctively wanted to grab it. However, it was already too late as the creature began to gnaw at his brain and take control of his consciousness.
"Ah-ka!" Sato's face turned red as he tightly gripped the bedsheet, seemingly struggling against an invisible force.
The wife next to him, sensing something amiss, woke up with bleary eyes and asked, "Hmm, what's wrong, Sato?"
At this moment, Sato's complexion gradually returned to normal, and he seemed to sink back into his dreams.
"Hmph, must be having a nightmare again," the wife grumbled slightly, rolled over, and fell back asleep.
Not far away, in a room of a standalone two-story house, a high school student - Izumi Shinichi - is lying on the bed, listening to music through his headphones, oblivious to everything outside the window.
At this moment, another insect-like creature arrived at his home. It tried to burrow into his ear, looking left, then Right, but was blocked by the headphones.
Therefore, it changed direction and turned towards Shinichi's snoring nostrils.
As Shinichi slept soundly, he suddenly felt uncomfortable in his nostrils and sneezed, grabbing hold of something.
"What's this?" Shinichi asked in surprise. Upon closer inspection, he found the insect to be extremely unsettling.
"Wow, this is so disgusting!" Shinichi exclaimed.
He didn't think much and immediately threw the creepy bug aside. However, he lost his balance and fell off the bed as a result.
"Snake! There's a snake, damn it, where did it slip in from!" Shinichi shouted, quickly picking up a book and rolling it into a stick. He touched his head to confirm that he wasn't injured, and breathed a sigh of relief.
Shinichi lifted the bedsheet and looked under the bed, but didn't find the elusive creature. At that moment, he suddenly heard a rustling sound.
Shinichi's heart raced as he nervously turned his head, only to see the insect flying towards him at an astonishing speed, its sharp antennae aimed directly at his head.
Instinctively, Shinichi used his hand to block it, but the insect managed to burrow into his right palm.
"Ah, it hurts! What on earth is this thing? It's drilling into my palm!" Shinichi was in so much pain that he could hardly see in front of him.
The bug was crawling rapidly inside his arm, filling Shinichi with fear as he wondered, "Oh my goodness, is it trying to crawl up to my head?"
At the same time, in another room, Shinichi's parents were awakened by the sudden noise.
"What's going on? Is that Shinichi's voice?" his mother asked, tired and worried.
"It's so noisy, doesn't he know it's the middle of the night?" Dad seemed quite annoyed.
At this critical moment, Shinichi quickly picked up the earpiece and tightly wrapped it around his arm, trying to stop the bug from crawling up. Incredibly, the bug seemed to be firmly trapped there.
At this critical moment of life and death, a knocking sound suddenly came from outside the door: "Shinichi, what's wrong? What happened?"
Shinichi tightly bit the earpiece with his mouth and pulled the other end with force, making the earpiece on his arm even tighter. He couldn't speak, only making "uh uh uh" sounds. In reality, he was anxiously calling for help in his mind: "Save me!"
His arm initially appeared red, but soon returned to its normal color.
At this moment, there seemed to be an almost imperceptible whisper: "What a pity, I failed."
The parents opened the door at this time. Dad asked, "Shinichi, what are you doing exactly?" Shinichi was still biting the earphone cord, only able to make "yiyi" sounds to his parents.
Mother asked in confusion, "Shinichi, why are you tying your arm with a headphone cord?"
Shinichi opened his mouth and said urgently, "I have to do this! There's a snake, a snake has burrowed into my arm!"
The parents looked puzzled and said, "What?"
The father half-jokingly said, "Oh, were you sleepwalking? Or did you dream it?"
Shinichi saw his parents not believing him, and said more firmly, "What I'm saying is true! It made a hole in my palm and then slithered in!"
His father, with a mocking and half-believing expression, said, "A snake made a hole in your palm? Oh, how peculiar."
"So, where is your hand? Where is the hole?" His father earnestly pulled Shinichi's arm and carefully examined it, but found no wounds.
"What? How is this possible? Just now it was clearly..." Shinichi was very surprised to see his hand completely unharmed.
Father suddenly became serious and asked, "Shinichi, you haven't taken any drugs, have you?"
"No, no, of course not!" Shinichi hurriedly clarified.
Mom chuckled softly and said, "Haha, how could that be possible? Your dad was just joking!"
After the atmosphere relaxed a bit, Shinichi shook his head and found everything to be normal.
Father said, "Ah, I think you may be a bit oversensitive due to the pressure of your studies, but I don't think you need to see a doctor, right?"
Mother followed father out of the room and before closing the door, she nagged, "Go change into your pajamas and get some rest!"
Shinichi still stared at his hand, thinking, "Perhaps this is really just a dream." He then turned off the light and burrowed into the covers.
However, in the middle of the night, he faintly heard a voice muttering, "Such a pity, it failed."
Shinichi half-awake response: "Too bad? What did I fail at?"
The voice coldly replied to him: "It's none of your business!"
This made Shinichi instantly wake up, but he found no one around, so he lay back down and fell asleep.
The girl suddenly opened her eyes, looked around, and found herself in an unfamiliar environment.
"Where am I? Wait, this couldn't be the world of 'parasite', could it?" The thought sent a shiver down her spine.
"No, it's not possible, it's not possible," she couldn't help but stand up, turn on the room light, and then walk to the kitchen to get a glass of water to calm herself down.
"It shouldn't be that unlucky, to encounter a monster just after arriving in this world," she muttered to herself, her palms starting to sweat.
As soon as the words fell, she saw a worm-like creature wriggling at the door, its antennae sharp and looking like they evolved from some deep-sea creature.
"Oh my god! What is this? Don't come to my house!" The girl screamed in panic, her voice filled with fear and unease.
Perhaps attracted by her screams, the insect seemed to have targeted her as its next victim. Its antennae began to quiver, as if sensing its prey.
The girl immediately turned around, trying to escape, but she stumbled and fell to the ground. She hurriedly tried to get up, but the insect was already closing in on her quickly.
"No, go away, don't come near!" She screamed frantically in her heart, with all her muscles tensed.
The bug shot into Tammy's right leg like an arrow, its sharp antennae instantly piercing her skin.
"Ah! It hurts so much," she couldn't help but scream.
"You parasitic monster!" she told herself silently. She knew in her heart that this was a matter of life and death.
The girl suddenly remembered the approach used by the protagonist "Izumi Shinichi" in "Parasite" to successfully resist the parasite.
She immediately turned around, grabbed the sash around her waist, swiftly wrapped it around her own feet, and then pulled it tight.
"You won't succeed!" She gritted her teeth, clutching the ribbons tightly in her hands.
Her feet began to turn fiery red, the pain burning like flames on her skin.
But the girl gritted her teeth and endured it desperately. After a few seconds, she felt the pain in her foot gradually easing, and the worm seemed to stop moving.
"It seems like I've escaped a disaster. However, my right foot seems to have been parasitized," she slowly stood up, looking at her right foot, a wave of complex emotions rushing over her.
"I can't give up like this. I must find a solution," she firmly told herself. Just as she was preparing to take action, she suddenly heard hurried footsteps.
Her parents ran out in panic, their faces full of worry. "Murano Rimi, what's wrong? You were shouting just now. What happened?"
Murano Rimi Seeing the expressions on her parents' faces, her heart tightened. She knew she couldn't let them worry, nor could she let them know about the terrifying incident that had just occurred. In an instant, she also realized that she had crossed over into the world of "Parasite" and had become the female lead, Murano Rimi.
"Dad, Mom, I'm okay. I just accidentally fell earlier," Rimi forced herself to say calmly, while silently repeating in her mind, "I can't let them know about this strange situation, at least not now."
Parents saw that she was safe and sound, and breathed a sigh of relief, but still felt a little worried.
"Rimi, are you sure you're really okay? Do you want to see a doctor?" Mom asked with some concern.
"No need, Mom, I just fell down, no need to worry too much," Rimi emphasized, silently determined to live well in this world of parasites.
