Xu Nuan was eagerly anticipating Gu Ze's comforting words, or rather, words that would help her face reality.

Few managed to sleep soundly; most tossed and turned, trying not to look at the cat while unable to resist stealing glances. Each time they did, a chill ran down their spines, and they cursed silently.
Xu Nuan's state was only slightly better than Deng Yinyin's. She believed in Gu Ze but couldn't understand why he was being so cryptic at this moment unless there were other matters at play.
"Ze?"
She had always felt more at ease sleeping beside Gu Ze, finding greater comfort in his presence. When she noticed Gu Ze turning over, Xu Nuan tentatively called out, and in the next moment, her hand was caught.
Gu Ze didn’t turn his head but gently patted her hand, much like one would soothe a baby. Xu Nuan couldn’t help but smile and held onto Gu Ze’s hand, choosing to drift back to sleep.
The next day, as they set off on their journey, Xu Nuan noticed that several people had dark circles under their eyes. Though they claimed not to care, it was clear they were concerned about the situation. Yet, Gu Ze remained tight-lipped, refusing to provide any answers.
Deng Yinyin shifted her focus onto Xu Nuan, only to receive a shrug in response. Xu Nuan didn’t know why; she simply instinctively trusted Gu Ze. Moreover, she maintained the belief that no matter how skilled one was at this game, there were still many things that could not be achieved. Violating the laws of nature would only lead to destruction; since these laws had survived for millions of years, how could a few humans overturn them in just a few years?
People should have a sense of self-awareness; compared to the vast world, even talent is but a speck.
It wasn’t Xu Nuan’s imagination—after confirming their direction intersected with that of the cat, Gu Ze quickened his pace. The others, however, were so distracted that they overlooked this detail.
Xu Nuan suddenly felt that Gu Ze was calculating something regarding these people but was hesitant to judge his actions with such thoughts. She felt uncomfortable keeping it all bottled up inside and decided to ignore it.
Meanwhile, the cat continued to watch them. Its large size made it intimidating, but its eyes were more beautiful than at night and appeared softer, easing some of the pressure.
Thus, under Gu Ze’s deliberate guidance and Xu Nuan’s passive acceptance, while the others remained oblivious, they quickly approached the cat.
At the same time in this area, three figures appeared, one of whom was Yu Le Yu, who had encountered everyone in Greedy Forest.
“Have they discovered something? Otherwise, why are they so unconcerned?”
Standing beside Yu Le Yu were a man and a woman; the man remained silent while the woman was actress Lolo. Melolo looked skeptical at that moment.
“How could that be? Only the creator of this game knows its secrets; how could those people possibly know?”
Melolo cast a disdainful glance at Yu Le Yu.

Yu Le Yu's eyes widened in shock, her face flushed with anger. However, a fearful glance at the man beside her made her hold back, and she lowered her head in silence instead of retorting to Melolo. This pleased Melolo, who glanced triumphantly at the man next to her. She noticed that he was merely watching the retreating figures with dissatisfaction, stomping his foot slightly, but fell silent under his casual gaze.
Xu Nuan and the others knew that even if they were being followed, there was nothing they could do to stop it. They were getting closer to the cat, and the others were growing increasingly restless.
Xu Nuan was somewhat better off; she merely lamented their significantly increased speed. Meanwhile, Deng Yinyin, who had been incessantly seeking answers, was now too exhausted to speak. Even the composed Xu Hang and Chi Xiaoming could not contain their impatience and asked a question, only to be deftly rebuffed by Gu Ze.
Curiosity is a peculiar thing; the more you try to suppress it, the stronger it becomes, driving you to seek out information by any means necessary. Despite their fear during this quest for knowledge, they still pressed on.
Liu Minghong was the one who struggled most to understand Gu Ze's behavior. He was someone who had fought against that person and lost. All he remembered was that person's overwhelming power and unknown identity—a source of dread that haunted him night after night.
He could see that Gu Ze was confident, which only deepened his confusion about Gu Ze's true identity.
But what other identity could Gu Ze possibly have?
The heir of Gu Group?
That once-coveted status now seemed worthless in this context.
As for Heng Technology, a subsidiary of Gu Group that had participated in the game's peripheral design, it was hardly shocking news. After all, the chairman of Heng Technology had also been schemed against by Another Founder; otherwise, he wouldn't know mere surface details about the game without grasping its essence.
Liu Minghong racked his brain but remained clueless, which only heightened his agitation. The others felt similarly; although they were approaching the cat, they displayed significant unease—a troubling sign that Gu Ze did not intervene to address.
Finally reaching the cat's side, they managed to grasp part of the truth.
"I just hope everyone can put on a show," Gu Ze said with a smile that contrasted sharply with the seriousness emanating from the group due to their intense planning. "Rather than pretending after revealing everything, it's better to keep it hidden until now."
The others remained baffled as Gu Ze approached the cat and raised his head, mumbling a few words.
To everyone's surprise, the cat simply moved aside.
When large creatures moved, the ground shook, and those who were unprepared stumbled about. Gu Ze quickly dashed over to catch Xu Nuan, who was about to fall.
"You have a bit of a dark sense of humor," she remarked lightly, then explained to the others who had gathered around, looking confused and somewhat displeased.
"Someone is following us—two groups. Just in case, we need to use this cat to intimidate them. Otherwise, we will be facing three enemies."
Deng Yinyin was the first to give up on questioning further. Her mind wasn't suited for deep thinking on this matter; she just needed to know that she could keep moving forward and successfully pass through this challenge.
The others looked somewhat relieved, but their questions remained. They were less concerned about who was following them and more curious about how Gu Ze managed to make that massive creature yield.
As for Xu Nuan, she didn't know the full story. She understood that her explanation was only part of the reason behind Gu Ze's actions; there was another part that she couldn't guess, while Gu Ze did.
That "not knowing" could very well mean "cannot know."
