The man reached out his hand to me. "Nice to meet you, I'm Tan Feng."
I shook his hand. "Hello, I'm Xinxin."
Tan Feng's nephew, the little boy named Tan Xiaodong, grinned and said, "Uncle is here to give Aunt some money."
What on earth?
In the conference room, the boss smiled at Tan Feng. "This is our company's new employee, Xinxin."
"Xinxin, Mr. Tan is one of our major clients."
"Mr. Tan, Xinxin just started working here, so please forgive any shortcomings."
Tan Feng replied, "No problem, we're all on the same team."
Who’s on your team?
Do I even know you?
Tan Xiaodong trotted over with his short legs, sat beside me, and clung to my arm cutely. "Aunt, I want to eat a hamburger."
"Little buddy, I'm really not your Aunt."
"But I want to eat a hamburger."
If you want a hamburger, just say so directly; why beat around the bush?
Tan Xiaodong looked at me with big eyes. "Aunt, can you please ask Uncle to let me have a hamburger?"
The boss spoke up: "Xinxin, Mr. Tan, little Tan, why don’t you all go have lunch?"
"Okay, boss."
I took Tan Feng and Tan Xiaodong out of the company.
I planned to treat them to a nice meal.
Unexpectedly, Tan Xiaodong insisted on having a hamburger.
Tan Feng patted his head. "Sure."
"Really?"
Tan Xiaodong jumped up happily. "Uncle, you're the best!"
"Are you really that happy just eating a hamburger?"
Tan Feng lowered his gaze at me and said, "Let's go to KFC."
I felt my face flush and my heart race under his stare.
No way! Am I actually falling for a stranger?
And this stranger has a little nephew too. What kind of trouble have I gotten myself into?
KFC.
I tried to persuade Tan Xiaodong to change his mind. "Are you sure you don't want anything else?"
"Nope, I only want a hamburger."
Tan Feng ruffled his hair and said, "If he likes it, let him be."
Fine, it's your choice to eat hamburgers, not mine. If the boss gets mad, it’s not my fault.
Tan Xiaodong took the number tag and went to find a seat.
Tan Feng stood behind me and quietly asked, "What do you want to eat? I can get it for you."
I was taken aback. Is he really this much of a gentleman?
"I’m fine with anything," I replied.
"Then I'll order something for you."
I stood aside, watching Tan Feng place the order.
Even ordering food, he was so gentlemanly, so handsome, so charming.
Oh no, it seems like I've really started to like him.
Tan Xiaodong pulled me to a seat and spoke mysteriously:
"Aunt, as long as you win over my uncle, this business deal will definitely go smoothly."
"Really?"
"Of course."
"Weren't you the one who said my uncle and I are a perfect match?"
"Being a match is one thing; whether you can win him over is another."
Tan Xiaodong spoke to me seriously, like a little adult, "Aunt, my uncle is not someone who can be easily swayed."
"What kind of person is your uncle?"
"He is..."
Before Tan Xiaodong could finish his sentence, Tan Feng approached with a tray.
"Thank you, Uncle!"
I paused for a moment, "Mr. Tan."
Tan Feng placed the tray in front of me, "Eat up."
"Thank you."
I looked at the Bucket Meal in front of me and fell into deep thought.
Had Tan Feng never eaten KFC before? How could he not even know what a Bucket Meal was?
Tan Xiaodong was munching on a burger and mumbled, "Aunt, just eat. Why are you staring blankly?"
Forget it; it didn't matter.
I decided to fill my stomach first. I picked up a burger and started to eat it slowly.
