Jack cautiously sat up from the bed, trying to clear his mind. Although the spasms in his body had lessened, he was still covered in hot sweat. He felt uneasy and fearful, knowing that Bruce and Helen's conspiracy could pose a huge threat to the shelter.
In this emergency moment, his thoughts quickly turned to one of his roommates, Dali. A passionate, optimistic chef, Jack believed that he might be able to provide some help or advice. He decided to wait until Dali went to the public bathhouse at night to find an opportunity to talk to Dali and try to find a way to solve this crisis.
Currently, Jack can only wait patiently. He knows that before exposing Bruce and Helen's plan, he must remain calm and cautious. He returns to bed, trying to regain his strength while repeatedly contemplating the next course of action in his mind.
As time slowly passes, the room returns to tranquility. Jack closes his eyes, attempting to focus his thoughts while also waiting for Dali to return. At this critical moment, he is acutely aware that every decision and action he makes will have a significant impact on the future of the shelter.
Jack felt a moment of comfort when he entered the room in Dali, with a faint smile on his face. Dali came in with some simple food in hand, obviously prepared specifically for Jack, which made Jack feel a little warmth in his heart.
Dali asked with concern, "Hey, Jack, how are you feeling? You still seem a little feverish." His eyes were full of worry as he set down the food.
Jack made an effort to sit up and nodded in response, "Yeah, I'm still feeling a bit hot, and my head is spinning a bit. Look, I'm all soaked." He reached out to touch his forehead and felt the sweat on it.
Dali gently patted Jack's back and comforted him, "Don't worry, you'll get better soon. Here, have some food, maybe it will make you feel better." He handed Jack some simple bread and jam.
Jack tried to eat a little, but quickly put it down. "I think I need a hot bath now. Let's go take a bath together and talk," he said with a hint of hidden intention in his words.
Dali nodded in agreement. "Sure, I was planning to take a bath anyway. Look, I'm all ready," Dali said, pointing to the towel draped over his shoulder.
The two of them left the room and walked towards the public bathhouse. Jack felt uneasy in his heart. He knew that the upcoming conversation would be crucial, and he needed to carefully reveal Bruce and Helen's conspiracy to Dali.
On the way to the bathhouse, Jack tried to maintain a relaxed atmosphere and asked, " Dali, are you busy with work? I heard that the kitchen has been very busy lately."
Dali smiled and replied, "Oh, you know, the kitchen is always busy. But I like that kind of busyness, at least it makes me feel useful." His words revealed an optimistic attitude towards life.
Jack nodded, but in his mind, he was thinking about how to steer the conversation towards Bruce and Helen's situation. They would have the opportunity for a more in-depth conversation in the secluded space of the bathhouse.
Jack and Dali walked into the spacious public bathhouse, where the moist air and warm steam immediately enveloped them. The bathhouse was relatively empty at this time, with only a few people washing by the pools in the distance. The two found a corner pool and began to slowly undress, preparing to bathe.
Jack felt a bit awkward, considering both of them were completely naked. He tried to relax and focus his attention on the upcoming conversation. Dali, on the other hand, seemed more at ease, even happily humming a tune while washing his body with water.
Jack began to wash carefully, the water temperature was just right, taking away his fatigue and discomfort. He looked at Dali's fat but energetic body, feeling a hint of admiration in his heart. Dali's optimistic attitude seemed particularly precious in such an environment.
After a while, Jack took a deep breath and decided to start discussing the important topic. "Dali, there's something I want to talk to you about," Jack said hesitantly, carefully choosing his words.
Dali stopped humming, turned around, and looked at Jack with a concerned expression. "What's wrong, Jack? You look very serious."
Jack swallowed and then slowly began to recount the conversation he had overheard in the dormitory, as well as his concerns about the plot that Bruce and Helen might be hatching.
Dali listened, his expression changing from relaxed to serious. He listened carefully to every word from Jack, occasionally nodding to show that he was following Jack's account.
Jack tried to convey everything he knew, including the relationship between Bruce and Helen, and the potential threat they posed to the shelter. His voice was filled with anxiety and concern.
Dali listened quietly for a moment, then said, "This is a very serious matter. We need to handle it carefully. We need to find a way to tell Adam or someone else we can trust."
The two continued to discuss possible plans and strategies in the bathhouse. This conversation was not only about the safety of the shelter, but also about how to protect their shared home. Although Jack still had worries in his heart, at least this conversation with Dali made him feel like he wasn't alone in facing these conspiracies.
In the tranquil atmosphere of the bathhouse, the conversation between Jack and Dali continues. Jack's mood gradually calms down during this conversation. He sighs deeply and thanks Dali for being willing to listen to him and believe in what he says.
Sitting on a small stool, Jack says somewhat helplessly, "Today, hearing those words from Bruce, I really don't know what to do. Their plan is too sinister, and I feel very helpless."
Dali gently patted Jack's shoulder and comforted him, "Don't worry, Jack. I have some friends in the shelter who can help us investigate. And I really appreciate you telling me all this. It's important for all of us."
Dali's words were full of determination: "The shelter is our common home, and we absolutely cannot let Bruce and Helen mess it up like that. We will find a way to stop them."
Jack listened to Dali's firm words, and the feeling of unease in his heart eased somewhat. He knew that Dali was a trustworthy friend, and his words made Jack feel like he was no longer alone in facing these problems.
After taking a shower, the two of them put on their clothes and quietly left the bathhouse. Jack was filled with new hope, knowing that they would work together to protect this sanctuary from any threats. Although the future was still full of unknowns, at least they were no longer fighting alone.
