Li Wei wanted to drag Zhao Jun along to participate in a wilderness survival group. The organizer was said to be the internationally registered LL International Travel Agency, which had just been established. This was their first event, and it was quite a sensational debut. It was rumored that LL International Travel Agency had invested ten million dollars as initial funding, a significant amount indeed. 0

LL International Travel Agency claimed that this event would be the largest in history, with the most comprehensive safety measures and the highest number of participants in a regular international public engagement activity. The entire event would be broadcast live online to a global audience. 0

The location was set to be an unknown deserted island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, and the event would last for seven days, with three hundred participants from around the world. 0

The organizers named this Survival Activity "Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner." The name was a playful nod to the excitement of the evening, derived from this year's most popular game, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. In the game, when a character wins, a message pops up saying "Good Luck and Prosperity, it's chicken dinner tonight." The organizers used this catchy title to attract many gaming enthusiasts. 0

However, once the fans learned about the cost of participating in this event, 99.99% of them couldn't help but leave quietly with smiles of disbelief. 0

Each participant needed to pay 180,000 yuan, which was undoubtedly a huge barrier that cruelly kept ordinary workers like Zhao Jun out. 0

Damn it, 180,000 for one spot! How much does a seven-day trip to Singapore and Malaysia cost? Even if this event turned out to be exactly as advertised by the travel agency, it was still outrageously expensive. 0

Zhao Jun couldn't afford that amount of money, but there were plenty of people who could—like Li Wei. Li Wei's father was the third-largest shareholder in a publicly listed company; they had plenty of money. Li Wei was the quintessential rich second generation who only bought expensive things instead of what was right. It seemed that only by doing so could he prove his wealth. 0

Birds of a feather flock together; Li Wei's girlfriend Jiang Rui was also from a wealthy family, her assets rivaling those of Li Wei's family. In modern terms, they were an optimized resource combination; in old terms, they were well-matched. 0

Zhao Jun didn't expect that Jiang Rui had suddenly gone to Europe for some reason, allowing him to sneak into this 180,000 yuan "rich man's group" without spending a dime. That was quite an unexpected surprise. 0

The next day, Li Wei knocked on Zhao Jun's dorm room door early in the morning and urged Zhao Jun, who was brushing his teeth and washing his face, "Hurry up! We have to gather at eight." 0

Zhao Jun mumbled through a mouthful of foam, "What are you rushing for? It's only six-thirty now!" 0

Li Wei laughed as he plopped down on Zhao Jun's hardwood sofa, crossing his legs and calling out to Zhao Jun, who was in the bathroom, "Zhao Jun, don’t think just because you’ve been dominating me in that game on the computer that it’ll be the same in real life. Just wait until we’re out there; I’ll show you how it’s done." 0

Zhao Jun spat out the foam in his mouth and chuckled, "Look at you, thinking you’re some kind of Rambo just because you’ve played paintball a few times. I grew up in Military Compound; I’ll wipe the floor with you in reality." 0

Li Wei got up with a laugh and grabbed the small suitcase that Zhao Jun had already packed. He urged Zhao Jun, who was just stepping out of the bathroom, "Hurry up! Stop dawdling like a girl. We’re going to eat Donkey Meat Flatbread. We need to fill up because I heard that after Shangdao, all food will be confiscated, and each person will only get three portions of Combat Ration. After that, if you want more food, you'll have to resort to stealing." 0

Zhao Jun replied with a grin, "Let them try to steal from me; I’m not afraid. Worst case scenario, I’ll wave a white flag and drop out of the competition." 0

Li Wei threw an arm around Zhao Jun's shoulder as they walked toward the door, grumbling, "You’re so tough in the game, but why are you acting all timid in real life? I’m telling you, I don’t want to drop out midway. I spent thirty-six thousand on this; I have to be the last one standing." 0

"With your skills? I doubt it. You might get knocked out on the first day." 0

"Come on! There’s no way I’m getting knocked out on the first day. If that happens, then my thirty-six thousand would be wasted." 0

"Don’t worry; your buddies will remember to leave you a piece of chicken butt when they win." 0

"Shut up! When we win, we’re splitting it fifty-fifty." 0

The two of them joked and laughed as they left the dormitory and headed downstairs to Li Wei's flashy Ferrari. Li Wei revved the engine and sped out of the school gates with Zhao Jun beside him. 0

Just past seven-thirty, Li Wei's Ferrari pulled up in front of Wanghai Grand Hotel in Southeast City. 0

Li Wei noticed a luxurious minibus with a travel agency sign parked outside the hotel where several people had gathered. They were animatedly discussing something. He turned to Zhao Jun in the passenger seat and asked with a smile, "So, are you excited?" 0

Zhao Jun chuckled, "Burning money, one person costs 180,000, so ten people is 1.8 million. The travel agency is going to make a fortune this time." 0

Li Wei laughed as he parked the car in the lot, got out, and pulled two small suitcases from the trunk. He turned to Zhao Jun and said, "180,000 isn't much. As long as you're happy. Why don't you quit that lousy teaching job? I can talk to my dad and get you a position in the company; you could easily make a hundred eighty thousand a year." 0

Zhao Jun took his suitcase from Li Wei's hands and smiled, "I don't have that kind of ability. Being a teacher is pretty good; the vacation days add up..." 0

"Enough, enough! Don't flaunt your benefits to me. I have vacation all three hundred sixty-five days of the year..." 0

At that moment, a young man in a suit with gold-rimmed glasses walked briskly towards Li Wei and Zhao Jun, smiling as he extended his hand to Li Wei. "Young Master Wei, you're right on time." 0

Li Wei shook hands with the young man and introduced him to Zhao Jun. "Zhao Jun, this guy is Shen Kun, the deputy general manager of the travel agency. Shen Kun, this is my buddy Zhao Jun. My girlfriend had to go abroad unexpectedly, so my buddy is coming with me this time. Is that alright?" 0

Shen Kun paused for a moment before smiling and shaking hands with Zhao Jun. "That's not a problem at all. I just need to know if Mr. Zhao has a passport; we need to make some adjustments to the paperwork." 0

Zhao Jun smiled back, "I do; thank you for your help." 0

Shen Kun replied with a slight smile, "Then there shouldn't be any major issues. The main thing is that our event is taking place overseas, so there are some complications with the paperwork. If you don’t mind me asking, what industry does Mr. Zhao work in? Please don’t take it the wrong way; it’s just that our company requires us to register clients' personal information in detail for processing various procedures." 0

Zhao Jun chuckled lightly and said, "I’m a teacher at Weicai Private School." 0

"Teacher?" Shen Kun's mouth twitched slightly as he looked curiously at Li Wei beside him. 0

It was quite unusual for someone from such a wealthy background to be friends with a teacher, especially one from a private school. 0

Shen Kun's doubts were fleeting as he chuckled and shook Zhao Jun's hand, saying, "Hello, teacher. Educating and nurturing students is a noble endeavor. Well then, you two should get on the bus first. We still have two guests who haven't arrived yet. Once they do, we'll set off immediately. Today, we have several flights to catch, and we probably won't reach our destination until tomorrow morning." 0

Zhao Jun smiled and released Shen Kun's hand, walking towards the minibus with Li Wei while pulling their luggage. 0

Before they could reach the minibus, Li Wei's expression changed slightly as he caught sight of a few people standing in front of it, animatedly chatting away. He muttered a curse under his breath. 0

Zhao Jun, with keen ears, turned to see Li Wei's expression and frowned slightly as he looked at the group. 0

The group noticed Li Wei and Zhao Jun approaching. Among them was a sharp-faced guy surrounded by several others who suddenly widened his eyes in surprise and shouted excitedly, "Whoa, isn't that Young Master Wei?" 0

Beside this sharp-faced guy, a pale-faced youth couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Yezi, I just realized that the eighteen thousand wasn't wasted; this time we're in for some fun." 0

The guy called Yezi laughed maniacally and gestured with both hands as if choking someone towards Li Wei. "Xiao Fang, do you think we should braise this kid or steam him?" 0

Xiao Fang made a slicing motion across his throat with his palm and replied with a grin, "I think cutting the throat would be more satisfying." 0

"Then let's cut the throat first and behead him afterward; we can feed the scraps to the dogs," Yezi said with a wicked smile as he stared at Li Wei. 0

Li Wei darkened his expression and pulled his suitcase closer to Zhao Jun, whispering, "Ignore them; let's get on the bus." 0

Zhao Jun gave a noncommittal smile but kept his eyes fixed on Yezi and Xiao Fang. Although he didn't know what kind of history Li Wei had with these two, he sensed that their presence on this trip would likely lead to some unpleasant encounters. 0
