When I woke up, I was in the Rest Cabin. Groggily, I sat up and felt a bit of pain in my head and legs. A glance revealed that my left calf was wrapped in bandages; it seemed I had indeed been injured. Shunzi was sitting next to me, leisurely watching television. Upon noticing I was awake, he turned to me and asked, "You're awake, Brother Yi. How are you feeling? Any better?" 0

I stretched my weary limbs. "Not bad, just a bit of a headache. I remember... I think I passed out. Did you pull me up?" My memories only lingered before I fainted; everything afterward was a blur. Yet, it felt as if I were living in a dream. After losing consciousness, I saw the female corpse in the coffin again, smiling at me. She always lingered in my mind—what on earth was happening? 0

Shunzi poured me a glass of water and handed it to me. "It wasn't just me; Jiao Ba and Mai Lao helped too. It was really close, Brother Yi; we all thought you wouldn't make it." 0

I took a sip of water and replied, "I thought I wouldn't make it either! It feels like I've been given a second chance at life! By the way, how long was I out?" 0

"Not long—just one night! If you're feeling tired, you can sleep some more; there's nothing going on right now," Shunzi said casually. 0

"I'm not going to sleep; I'm a bit hungry. I want to get something to eat." I threw on some clothes and prepared to get out of bed. 0

At that moment, the Hatch swung open, and Jiao Ba walked in with a plate in hand. "Hey, bro, you're awake! How are you feeling?" 0

"I'm fine, much better—just a bit hungry. What did you bring? Is it food?" My stomach was growling in protest. 0

Jiao Ba grinned widely. "It is food! Here you go; this portion is for you. I'll go get another one while it's hot—Li Xin's cooking is pretty good today." 0

Jiao Ba left the food behind and exited the Rest Cabin. Exhausted, I sat on the stool and started eating—it was porridge with canned food and some pickled vegetables. We had been at sea for a while now, so fresh vegetables were gone. However, Li Xin's cooking was decent; perhaps it was just because I was hungry, but it tasted quite good. 0

As I ate, I asked Shunzi, "Shunzi, when you were underwater, did you guys encounter any dangers while escaping?" 0

Shunzi shook his head. "Not really. After you went up, those little monsters were mostly drawn away by you. To be honest, Brother Yi, with your courage, most people can't keep up! I'm impressed." 0

"Don't be impressed by me; do you think I wanted to do that? If I hadn't acted like that, everyone would have died." I forced a bitter smile; if there had been another way, I wouldn't have taken such risks. 0

Suddenly, something came to mind. "By the way, Shunzi, what happened to that injured sailor?" 0

Shunzi's expression darkened as he helplessly replied, "Don't mention it—the sailor died. His injuries were too severe; the Steel Wire Rope had split his chest open completely. Li Xin couldn't do anything for him." 0

I sighed and cursed, "Damn it, we've only been at sea for a little over a month, and two people are already dead. I really don't know what else is going to happen." 0

"Brother Yi," Shunzi said, "I've been wanting to tell you that I feel like this trip has been too unlucky. What’s with this Human-Faced Flower and this Demon Worm Corpse? Nothing seems normal. Just wait and see! Something else is bound to happen. I can't shake this uneasy feeling. We set out to fish, but now it feels like we're just here to salvage Wrecks. And just when we found a Wreck, before we could even start salvaging, two people ended up dead. What kind of situation is this?" Shunzi was usually meticulous but rarely complained; it was clear he had been holding back for a long time. 0

I glanced at him and said, "Yeah! It really is frustrating. So what do you plan to do?" 0

Shunzi chuckled lightly, "What can I plan? Of course, I'm sticking with you, Brother Yi. If you stay, I stay; if you go, I go." 0

I patted his shoulder and said, "Alright! Since we’re here, let’s make the best of it! We can’t just go back without making any money, right? It’s been so many days already; we’ve endured it all. What big storms haven’t we weathered together? This is nothing! Don’t you think?" 0

Shunzi grabbed my hand and said, "As long as I'm with you, Brother Yi, I feel secure." 0

I nodded with a smile. Just then, Jiao Ba came in holding a plate and said, "Brother Yi, Mai Lao wants us to go see Jenny; it seems there’s something to discuss." 0

Shunzi and I exchanged glances and stood up. "Alright, let’s go." 0

I still had some injuries on my leg and walked with a slight limp. Shunzi wanted to support me, but I waved him off and said, "No need; I'm fine." 0

The three of us arrived at Jenny's resting quarters. Mai Lao saw me and asked with concern in his voice, "Loyalty and Righteousness, how are you? Is your body alright?" 0

"I'm fine; I'm in good shape," I replied with a smile. 0

Mai Lao nodded and said, "That's good to hear. We owe you a lot this time! Otherwise, we would have faced total annihilation. You're really something else! Much more impressive than I imagined." 0

I self-deprecatingly replied, "Well, I had no choice; I just pushed through." 0

"Regardless, you still have that courage. I'm starting to appreciate you more and more," Mai Lao said while looking at me with a glimmer in his eyes. 0

Damn it! Is this Old Man developing feelings for me? His gaze made me uncomfortable; I suddenly shivered and quickly looked away. Otherwise, I might just throw up. I’m not into that sort of thing; besides, even if I were, it definitely wouldn’t be with an Old Man like him. 0

Jenny looked at me with a slightly concerned expression and asked, "Loyalty and Righteousness, are you okay? You don't look too well." 0

I quickly cleared my throat and replied, "Cough, cough~~ I'm fine, really. I just ate a bit too much earlier, haha." 0

Jenny's eyes softened as she said, "Well, as long as you're okay. If you're not feeling well, just take some time to rest." 0

I feigned a serious expression and said, "Oh wow! Your concern for me is a bit overwhelming, Jenny. I feel like you might be falling for me." 0

Li Xin made a gagging gesture in response to my comment. I ignored her; her personality was too cold for me to engage with, especially after our last argument. We had become almost like strangers, neither of us willing to acknowledge the other. 0

Jenny's expression changed as she retorted, "You really have no shame! Just because I care about everyone on this ship doesn't mean I love them! You're being overly sentimental." 0

Jiao Ba and Shunzi were stifling their laughter nearby. Initially feeling a bit down after Jenny's words, I quickly switched to a playful tone and said, "Hehe! Being overly sentimental is one of my strengths; thanks for the compliment!" 0

Jenny was so exasperated that she couldn't help but laugh. She pointed at me and said, "Jin Zhongyi, you truly are an eye-opener! I've never met a man like you before." 0

I raised an eyebrow and replied, "Of course! I'm one of a kind." 0

At that moment, Mai Lao quickly interjected, "Alright, alright, enough of the banter. Everyone sit down; let's get back to business." 0
