The fishing boat lowered the iron net, and we secured the coffin. Once the Steel Wire Rope began to pull the coffin up smoothly, we started to surge towards the Sea Surface. The sunlight was still abundant, and the afternoon sea sparkled with countless waves, shimmering with golden light under the sun, flickering like a beautiful firework display. 0

We paddled over to the Bearded Man's fishing boat. The Lifeline had been prepared in advance, and we climbed up the ladder one after another onto the fishing boat. 0

Back on deck, I tossed aside the Oxygen Tank and plopped down, panting as I said, "Damn, that was really close! Lao Ba, where did those Strange Snakes come from?" 0

Jiao Ba, who had also removed his gear, sat down on the deck and replied, "How would I know? That scared me to death! Mai Lao, do you know what those strange creatures were?" Judging by Jiao Ba's expression, he didn't seem to be lying. 0

Mai Lao took off his Diving Suit and looked down at us, saying, "I have no idea. If you don't know about those creatures, there's no way I could." This Old Man seemed to be brushing us off; I was really curious about how he managed to escape in the end. 0

"Mai Lao, I really need to thank you this time. You've saved me several times now; you're amazing! What trick did you use this time?" I asked him eagerly while giving a thumbs-up. 0

With a smile on his face, Mai Lao replied, "Just luck." Another useless remark. 0

At that moment, Li Xin chimed in from the side, "What did you guys encounter down there?" 0

I shot her a glance and casually replied, "We met angels and God." 0

"Get lost! Angels and God? You look more like a pile of bird droppings," Li Xin retorted without holding back, which led to a round of laughter from everyone. Even Mai Lao, who usually kept his composure, burst into laughter. 0

"Hey... how can you talk like that? Did I provoke you?" I looked up at Li Xin. If she were a man, I would have punched him by now. 0

Li Xin smiled at me and said, "I'm talking about you. What? Do you have a problem with that?" 0

"Damn..." 0

"Alright, alright! Enough messing around; the coffin has been retrieved," Mai Lao interrupted me with a single sentence. 0

As soon as I heard that the coffin had been brought up, I quickly got up and stood at the edge of the deck. The Steel Wire Rope was dragging the coffin up and had already surfaced. The sunlight shone on the pitch-black coffin but offered no warmth—only a cold light that made one feel uneasy just looking at it. 0

The coffin slowly rose, finally settling steadily on the deck. As it floated above the sea surface, there was a noticeable difference from how it appeared underwater. In the deep sea, the coffin looked dark and enormous, evoking a sense of dread. 0

However, once placed on the deck, it didn’t seem as large anymore, and its color appeared lighter, closer to gray than the deep black of the ocean depths. I reached out to touch the lid; the chill that had enveloped it vanished. It seemed that all the issues were confined to that dark sea area; once removed from it, they disappeared. 0

Everyone's spirits were high as they gathered around the coffin, discussing various possibilities. Most conversations revolved around treasure; nearly everyone believed there would be a wealth of burial goods inside. 0

Even Mai Lao, Shunzi, and Li Xin were convinced. However, I could tell that among them, some were merely trying to stir our thoughts with their theatrics; this was just trivial skills from the Master of the Broken Blade. 0

This coffin bore no significant difference from the one we encountered in the Qing Dynasty shipwreck, yet an unsettling feeling lingered in my mind. I couldn’t quite pinpoint it, but images of that terrifying coffin corpse kept surfacing in my thoughts. 0

If there truly was a Demon Worm Corpse inside, perhaps I could uncover some information I sought from this body. 0

Suddenly, Big Guy exclaimed excitedly, “Mai Lao, should we open it? Let’s see what’s inside!” His face was alight with enthusiasm as if gold and jewels lay before him. 0

“Yeah, Mai Lao! We’ve brought it up; let’s take a look,” chimed in several other sailors, fanning the flames of excitement. This was their last battle; their mission had been accomplished. 0

We hadn’t informed the other sailors about the strange occurrences with Bearded Man during our last encounter at the Qing Dynasty shipwreck. They remained oblivious; it was better for fewer people to know about such matters. 0

Mai Lao didn’t respond directly but turned to Jiao Ba and asked, “Xiao Ba, can we open it now?” 0

Jiao Ba feigned a smile and said, “Of course we can open it, but why rush? We can wait another day. Let’s let this coffin air out a bit; we’ll come back tomorrow morning with Jenny.” He led the way off the deck, lowering the lifeboat and urging us to hurry back on board. 0

The two fishing boats weren’t docked too closely together; this was Jiao Ba’s request for safety reasons. 0

Seeing that there was no immediate action to take, everyone followed suit and returned to their boat. It wasn’t worth rushing; upon returning to Jenny’s ship, she appeared thrilled. After all their hard work over these days had finally paid off—this was a result earned at the cost of their lives. 0

Everyone was exhausted; sailors headed to their cabins for rest while we made our way to Jenny’s Rest Cabin. Once seated, Mai Lao suddenly asked Jiao Ba, “Xiao Ba, can you confirm what’s inside that coffin?” 0

It seemed Mai Lao had already anticipated his intentions to keep things under wraps. 0

“I mentioned before that this coffin is intricately linked to the one from the previous Qing Dynasty shipwreck,” Jiao Ba replied without directly answering her question. 0

"What does that even mean?" Jenny asked, a hint of urgency in her voice. 0

Shunzi suddenly replied, "What Lao Ba means is that there might be a Demon Worm Corpse inside." I was surprised by Shunzi's quick reaction. 0

As soon as Shunzi finished speaking, Jenny's expression changed. Although she didn't know how powerful the Demon Worm Corpse was, we had previously shared our near-death experiences with her, and that memory was terrifying for anyone who heard it. 0

"So... what should we do?" Jenny asked, feeling a bit lost. 0

"If it really is the Demon Worm Corpse, then we're in serious trouble. Xiao Ba, do you have any ideas?" Mai Lao asked again. 0

Jiao Ba frowned and said, "I haven't thought of anything yet. How about this: give me one night to think it over. Maybe I'll come up with a solution. But let me remind you all, never open that coffin on your own. If something goes wrong, it will be too late for regrets." He scanned the room with a mischievous grin before getting up and leaving. 0

Shunzi and I hurried after him. I wanted to send Shunzi away, so I pulled Jiao Ba aside outside the cabin and asked, "Lao Ba, do you really have a way to deal with this Demon Worm Corpse?" 0

Jiao Ba chuckled self-deprecatingly, "What can I do? I'm just trying to bluff them." 0

"Come on, if you don't have a plan, why say anything? What if something happens when we open the coffin tomorrow?" I glared at him. 0

Jiao Ba glanced around cautiously and said slyly, "Don't worry, Brother Yi. Someone will help us tonight. We just need to be patient and wait; that man in black will definitely show up again." 0
