I continued to hang outside the window, listening to their conversation. No matter what Shunzi truly meant, I would find out sooner or later. From now on, I just had to be extra cautious around him. 0

It was quite frustrating; once sworn brothers, now they were at odds with each other. They clearly had their own agendas but still wore smiles of friendship when they met. 0

"This is strange. Why would Loyalty and Righteousness want you to go to the Storage Room? What does that mean?" Jenny asked. 0

"I have no idea. I was pretty out of it at the time," Shunzi replied, rambling on. It made my teeth grind in irritation. Damn it, if it weren't for wanting to avoid Jenny and the others, I would have jumped in and knocked out all his teeth. 0

"Did you actually see Loyalty and Righteousness?" Mai Lao questioned him. 0

"Not really... but I know Brother Yi's voice well; it couldn't be mistaken," Shunzi insisted, still pinning it on me. Damn it, it seemed he really intended to confront me. 0

"Mai Lao, what should we do now?" Jenny asked. 0

"Forget it for now; let's head back. I think if Loyalty and Righteousness and Jiao Ba are together, nothing bad will happen. They might have already returned. Wandering around here aimlessly isn't a solution; let's go back," Mai Lao said casually. 0

"Wait a minute, Mai Lao, how did this coffin end up here? I thought it was on the deck at the bow?" It was that voice of the Big Guy. 0

"Yeah, I remember it being there too, but it doesn't matter as long as the coffin is still here," Mai Lao replied nonchalantly. 0

"Why don't we open it now and see if there's any treasure inside? Better than having nightmares later," another sailor chimed in. This guy was nicknamed Scarface, true to his name with a face full of scars. He usually kept quiet but was quite clever; he had instigated trouble among the sailors twice now. 0

"I think that's a good idea. Since we're here, we might as well open it," Big Guy agreed. 0

I thought to myself that this could end badly. I wasn't worried about them discovering that the coffin had already been opened; my main concern was them finding something on the female corpse. If they accidentally disturbed the talismans, it could spell disaster for all of us. 0

My heart raced with anxiety; I needed to come up with a way to stop them, but how should I do that? 0

“Jenny, what do you mean? Should we open it now?” Mai Lao was speaking. 0

“Forget it, it's been half a year. It's better to be cautious for safety's sake. Let's just wait until tomorrow morning to open it; we’re not in a rush,” Jenny said, finally easing my anxious heart. 0

“What’s the big deal? It’s just a coffin, at most a Corpse. There's nothing to be afraid of with so many of us here,” Scarface continued his endless rambling about the Qing Dynasty. 0

“Let’s listen to Jenny. We’ll come back tomorrow morning. For now, let’s head back and see if Loyalty and Righteousness and Jiao Ba have returned,” Mai Lao concluded, effectively putting an end to the discussion. 0

Soon, the sound of footsteps faded away, and the light from the Flashlight disappeared. I quickly pushed myself up and returned to the cabin. I went to the door and looked outside, confirming that Jenny and the others had left. 0

Then I returned to the window, cautiously peering outside until their Lifeboat was gone. Only then did I relax completely; I had managed to buy some time. When I went back later, I would need to think of a suitable excuse. 0

At this moment, I remembered that Jiao Ba was still in the Freezer. I needed to hurry and call him out. I quickly left the cabin and headed down to the Freezer. 0

When I reached the door, I opened it and shouted, “Lao Ba, Lao Ba, it’s safe now! Come out quickly!” As soon as the door to the Freezer opened, a rush of cold air surged out. It was pitch black inside and freezing cold; it must have been tough for Jiao Ba. 0

“Brother Yi, I... I'm here,” came Jiao Ba's voice. 0

“Hurry up and come out! Everyone has left; why are you still dawdling?” I urged him from the doorway. 0

Jiao Ba soon emerged from inside, his arms crossed over his chest, shivering uncontrollably. His hair was almost frosted over as he stammered, “Oh my gosh, they finally left! If I stayed any longer, I would have frozen to death.” 0

I chuckled and said, “Look at you! Let’s go open the coffin.” 0

“Wait a moment, Brother Yi.” Jiao Ba grabbed my arm. 0

I turned to look at him and asked, “What is it? Why are you acting so mysterious?” 0

“I found something. Follow me,” he said as he led me back into the Freezer. The Freezer of the Bearded Man fishing boat was quite large; it was normally used for freezing fish caught during fishing trips, and there was a strong, unpleasant fishy smell inside. 0

For some unknown reason, none of the lights on this ship were working, including the one in the Freezer. Jiao Ba could only use his lighter to lead the way as we made our way to the back. When we reached the innermost part, Jiao Ba suddenly stopped at a corner. 0

"Hey, what exactly did you bring me here to see? Don't tell me it's just these stinky fish and rotten shrimp," Jiao Ba blocked my path, and I nudged him. 0

He turned around and handed me the lighter. "You'll see when you come closer, but be prepared for it." 0

"Come on, what do I need to prepare for? What is it that's so mysterious?" 0

I took the lighter from him and bent down to shine it forward. By the dim light, the first thing I saw was a man's face—specifically, a dead man's face. It was frozen over, with a wide mouth and eyes staring blankly ahead like dead fish. 0

I instinctively recoiled; I hadn't been mentally prepared for this shock. But I quickly regained my composure; after all, experience builds courage. 0

As I held the lighter and looked around, I was utterly stunned. It wasn't just this one corpse; there were about seven or eight bodies in total, all of them men. 0

These individuals had been placed in the far corner of the Freezer. If one didn't examine closely, they would never be discovered. Each body was crammed together, frozen stiff, their heads hanging at odd angles, but almost all of them had died with their eyes wide open. 0

Most importantly, these men were actually the missing subordinates of the Bearded Man. I had suspected they might have been killed by someone, but I never imagined their bodies would end up here. We had searched everywhere last time and found nothing; now Jiao Ba had uncovered them. 0

The bodies had been frozen for too long to examine in detail. I quickly glanced over a few corpses; they bore no obvious wounds, and there were no traces of blood on the ground around them. 0
