The arrival of the police was earlier than expected at Xie Annan.
He sat on the balcony smoking, and came across a news report on his phone about the death of the old butler at a suburban villa. The criminal sketch artist had also drawn his likeness, which was about 50% accurate.
As he flicked the cigarette butt, he saw a group of police officers coming up from downstairs with a search warrant, conducting a search of each household.
There are two police officers guarding below. Xie Annan couldn't climb down from the water pipe, so he had to go up to the rooftop and jump to the adjacent building to leave the street smoothly.
The sky was gloomy, the streets were damp, and there was a lot of mud left. Xie Annan walked quickly, his legs covered in foul-smelling, dirty mud. Wanted posters were posted on the electric poles of the surrounding shops. The cold wind blew, making his bones ache. He glanced at the wanted posters, his hands in his pockets, and buried his head even lower.
The police's investigation this time is much more intense than before, mainly because the villa belongs to a wealthy foreign businessman who has many businesses in the city. The police dare not be negligent.
"Damn it," Xie Annan looked around at the tall buildings and the crowd, not knowing where to hide for a moment.
From day to night, he had walked all the way to the outskirts of the city. He found a bridge hole and had just sat down to rest when he saw several police officers shining flashlights and coming towards him.
Xie Annan stared at the police officers and muttered under his breath, "Damn it, they just won't leave me alone."
He got up and ran wildly, with several police officers already catching sight of him, shining their flashlights and shouting, "Hey, stop!"
Xie Annan continued to run without looking back, rushing through the green belt, climbing onto the road, and continuing to run directly across. Several speeding cars honked their horns, nearly hitting him.
Stumbling across two roads, Xie Annan finally disappeared from the sight of the police behind him, and he stopped by the side of the road, panting heavily, his heart pounding in his chest. He looked around and saw several residential buildings not far ahead, so he hurriedly ran towards them.
These residential houses were all self-built, with iron pipes installed along the walls. Xie Annan chose a house where the lights were off and climbed onto the balcony along the water pipe.
His feet had just touched the ground when he suddenly heard a woman's moaning from inside the room, along with the creaking of a wooden bed.
"I... I can't do it anymore. I feel so dizzy," a man inside the room gasped as he spoke.
Xie Annan Cursing in my heart, I thought no one lived here, so I was ready to climb to another building. But then a familiar woman's voice came.
"Good grief, just sleep it off. Useless."
Xie Annan paused, carefully recalling the sound. Wasn't it the same as the one from Bai Ning before? It's a small world indeed. Xie Annan sighed helplessly, continued climbing onto the balcony, but accidentally knocked over a flowerpot.
"Who's there!" Bai Ning immediately ran out.
Xie Annan stopped running and turned to look at Bai Ning, saying, "It's me."
Bai Ning didn't have time to put on clothes, so she just wrapped herself in a bedsheet, revealing her two fair legs.
"So it's you, the liar," Bai Ning sneered.
Xie Annan turned to look at the motionless man in the room and said, "Aren't you also lying now? There's no difference between you and me."
Bai Ning grabbed Xie Annan by the collar and angrily demanded, "Give me back my things!"
"Alright, isn't it all about money? I'll give you something good, enough for you to live on for half your life."
After saying that, Xie Annan took out the bag of diamonds from his pocket, poured one out, and said, "Help me leave this place."
Bai Ning He took the diamond and suddenly remembered the news from the other day, and said, "Did you kill someone?"
"I didn't mean to."
"Deserve it You."
"Don't kick me when I'm down. Whether you help or not, don't give me back."
Bai Ning took a step back holding the diamond: "How do you want me to help?"
Xie Annan walked in and looked at the man lying on the bed like a dead pig, asking: "How long can your drug make someone dizzy?"
"24 hours, what's the matter?"
Xie Annan sat heavily on the sofa and said, "Get me something to eat, let me rest for the night, buy me a ticket tomorrow, take me to the station, and I'll give you a diamond."
"How should we get in?"
"The station has a loophole. I'll take care of it. You buy a ticket, and we'll enter together. But first, get me something to eat. I'm starving."
Bai Ning went back to the room to put on clothes: "Wait for a moment."
Then, before Xie Annan could finish cooking the noodles, he fell asleep on the sofa. He was just too tired from running just now.
I don't know how long it has been. I was awakened in a daze, only to find myself locked in a cage half a meter high. I saw Bai Ning cooking something in the dimly lit kitchen, with the sound of boiling water bubbling.
