"How is it?" Zhou Yan looked at me. "If there are no issues, just sign here."
"No problem." I nodded, picked up the pen, and signed my name.
Seeing that I had signed, Zhou Yan turned and walked away without another word. It seemed like there was something urgent.
I smiled and stepped out of the civil affairs bureau.
As soon as I exited the door, I spotted Xue An.
"Divorced?" Xue An approached me.
"Yes." I nodded.
"Come on, let's treat the great contributor to a drink." Xue An put his arm around my shoulder.
"Great contributor?" I was taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"Just play along," Xue An said, looking at me. "What else could it mean? Of course, it's your great contribution—my brother-in-law."
"Brother-in-law?" I was even more confused. "What do you mean?"
"You forgot? I mentioned it before..." Xue An looked at me and suddenly stopped.
"Before?" I thought for a moment and then it hit me. "You mean Ma Ming?"
"Exactly." Xue An nodded. "Otherwise, why do you think Zhou Yan was in such a hurry to divorce you?"
"But what does this have to do with Ma Ming?" I still couldn't understand.
"Alright, let's not talk about it anymore."
Xue An waved his hand. "Let's go drink to the great hero."
"Hey, don't keep me in suspense."
I grabbed him. "What exactly is going on?"
"If you buy me a drink, I'll tell you."
Xue An looked at me with a sly grin.
"Fine."
I nodded. "I'll treat you."
We arrived at a restaurant, ordered two side dishes, and two bottles of beer, chatting as we drank.
"Can you tell me now?" I asked Xue An.
"Actually, it's quite simple."
Xue An took a sip of his beer. "We just spread a rumor."
"A rumor?"
My curiosity was piqued.
"Yes," Xue An nodded. "We spread a rumor that your house is going to be demolished, and you'll get several apartments in compensation along with several million in cash."
"You guys?"
I glanced at Xue An. "You and Ma Ming?"
"Exactly."
Xue An nodded again. "Also, Ma Ming asked me to introduce him to someone, so I introduced him to Zhou Yan."
"This..."
I widened my eyes. "Is that even allowed?"
"Of course it is."
Xue An took another sip of his beer. "You have no idea; Zhou Yan is quite the catch these days."
"So..."
I thought for a moment, “Ma Ming and Zhou Yan, they wouldn’t be getting serious, would they?”
“Getting serious?”
Xue An laughed, “Are you kidding? Ma Ming isn’t an idiot.”
“Alright then.”
I nodded and raised my glass. “Come on, let’s drink.”
“Cheers!”
Xue An lifted his glass and clinked it with mine.
After finishing the drink, Xue An patted me on the shoulder.
“Buddy, take care of yourself.”
With that, Xue An left.
I settled the bill and headed back.
On the way, I received a message from Zhou Yan.
“This afternoon, clear out everything related to you and Fei Fei. Thanks.”
I chuckled and replied with a message.
“Okay.”
When I got home, I took Fei Fei with me to that house.
Zhou Yan wasn’t there, nor were Yang Fengping and Zhou Huaishan.
Only Zhou Tong was home alone.
I walked in and started packing up my and Fei Fei’s things.
“Stop!”
Suddenly, Zhou Tong came over and shouted.
I looked up to see Zhou Tong glaring at me.
“What’s wrong?”
I asked Zhou Tong.
“These are all mine!”
Zhou Tong glared at me as if ready to explode with anger.
“Yours?”
I smiled lightly, “These all belong to Fei Fei.”
“Fei Fei, Fei Fei, it’s always about Fei Fei!”
Zhou Tong yelled, “You all like Fei Fei, don’t you?”
“I’m telling you, these are all mine!”
"My!"
"Okay."
I nodded, "It's all yours."
I pointed at the toy in Zhou Tong's hand.
"Can you put down Fei Fei's toy?"
"No way!"
Zhou Tong raised the toy and smashed it hard onto the ground.
"It's all mine!"
"It's all mine!"
He shouted as he threw everything in the house onto the floor.
"Stop it!"
I rushed over, trying to stop him.
But he acted like he was mad, completely ignoring me.
He overturned the coffee table.
He smashed the fish tank.
Water spilled everywhere.
Several goldfish flopped around on the floor.
"Stop it!"
I yelled loudly.
"Stop it?"
Zhou Tong looked at me defiantly, "I won't stop!"
Saying that, he lifted something up, ready to smash it down.
I took a closer look; it was a Remote Control Plane.
"Don't..."
I reached out my hand, just about to intervene, but it was too late.
