All the evidence pointed to Principal Zhang, and now, as long as one point was confirmed, the case could essentially be closed. 0

Guan Zengbin found semen on Zhang Mingliang's lower body, indicating that Zhang Mingliang had been violated by someone before death. If the semen matched Principal Zhang's DNA, everything would fall into place. 0

Half an hour later, Guan Zengbin compared the DNA from the personal items in Principal Zhang's home with the semen found in Zhang Mingliang's body. We received an expected answer: the semen matched Principal Zhang's DNA. 0

Thus, we could draw a conclusion: 0

On the night four days ago, Principal Zhang saw a note left for him by Zhang Mingliang, mistaking it for one from Hu Jiajia. He then went to that long-abandoned construction site as arranged and encountered Zhang Mingliang. In the darkness, he mistakenly thought Zhang Mingliang was Hu Jiajia. 0

Worried about being discovered by Old Zhang, who was watching the entrance, Zhang Mingliang led Principal Zhang into a building and went upstairs. 0

Upon reaching the fifteenth floor, Zhang Mingliang felt that at this height, Old Zhang would surely not notice them, so they stopped. 0

Principal Zhang followed behind her, with only a silhouette left for him to see. 0

Principal Zhang fulfilled his promise. 0

One hand covered Zhang Mingliang's mouth while the other pulled down her underwear. When we found Zhang Mingliang's body, she was wearing a skirt, which perhaps made it easier for Principal Zhang. Having just undergone surgery, Zhang Mingliang was weak and unable to resist. 0

In the darkness, Principal Zhang did not even discern that this person was actually a transgender individual. With an artificial vagina, there was naturally no hymen. This fact might have led Principal Zhang to believe that Hu Jiajia and Gao Rui had already been intimate. This was something Principal Zhang could not tolerate. 0

Blood sealed the fate. 0

Zhang Mingliang didn't even have time to speak before Principal Zhang swiftly severed her head with a single strike. 0

The head rolled to the ground, blood splattering everywhere. 0

Zhang Mingliang would never understand what had brought about his demise. 0

Principal Zhang looked at the bright moon outside the building and smiled. He picked up the bloody head and, gripping Zhang Mingliang's neck, wrote that famous love poem on the wall: 0

"What is love in this world? It only binds life and death together." 0

Then he threw the body from the fifteenth floor. At the same time, a thief was caught in Old Zhang's trap. 0

As Old Zhang went upstairs, Principal Zhang hid on the sixteenth floor. When Old Zhang came down, Principal Zhang followed closely behind him. He might have wanted to kill Old Zhang, but ultimately refrained. 0

After descending, Principal Zhang carried the headless body of Zhang Mingliang through a drainage outlet at the construction site and into the sewer. After walking about a kilometer in the sewer, Principal Zhang casually discarded the headless corpse, believing it would never be discovered. 0

Then, Principal Zhang ran away from another location. 0

"Is this your conclusion?" After listening to Guan Zengbin's reasoning analysis, I couldn't help but ask. 0

"Yeah, it makes sense logically," Guan Zengbin nodded in agreement. 0

I shrugged and sat back on the sofa, extending three fingers. "Let's do this: I'll ask you three questions based on your analysis. If you can answer them, I'll tentatively accept that what you say is true." 0

"Sure!" Guan Zengbin sat across from me, raising an eyebrow and staring at me with his big eyes. 0

"First question," I said. "What happened to that bucket filled with dog blood that Old Zhang mentioned? Your story didn't address this point." 0

Guan Zengbin pondered for a moment and then slapped his forehead. "Got it! The weapon that decapitated Zhang Mingliang must have been very sharp. Principal Zhang couldn't have held it himself, so he must have had something to carry it. That bucket filled with dog blood is likely what he used to conceal the weapon, which would explain why Zhang Mingliang wouldn't suspect anything." 0

"Carrying the bucket would be even more suspicious, wouldn't it? Now, onto the second question," I continued. "If Principal Zhang killed someone and was hiding on the sixteenth floor, there would definitely be traces left behind. Yet, aside from the fifteenth floor, there was no blood at the scene. And if he had already killed someone, why not eliminate Old Zhang as well? Was he not afraid of Old Zhang discovering anything?" 0

Guan Zengbin's expression darkened, his brows furrowing as he rested his chin on one hand. "Principal Zhang only killed Hu Jiajia; he didn't kill anyone else." 0

"Now for the third question," I pressed on. "If Principal Zhang thought that disposing of the body in the sewer wouldn't be discovered, why did he go missing himself? Isn't that like hiding a large sum of money while claiming to be broke, deliberately raising suspicion?" 0

"Well, maybe he thought Old Zhang saw him..." Guan Zengbin scratched the back of his head. 0

I raised a finger and shook my head. "Then why didn't he just kill Old Zhang?" 0

"Damn it!" Guan Zengbin threw a cushion from the sofa at my head. "You're driving me crazy!" 0

I hugged the cushion to my chest, contemplating the case. 0

There was no doubt that Principal Zhang had assaulted Zhang Mingliang, but it didn’t seem like Zhang Mingliang had been killed by him. Could it be that Principal Zhang only assaulted him while someone else was responsible for the murder? Perhaps that young man who fell into the trap was the real murderer? 0

No, that didn't add up. 0

Old Zhang heard some noise around ten o'clock and arrived at the scene around ten ten. At that time, the young man had escaped from the trap and fled. Then Old Zhang prepared to leave but seemed to hear something from upstairs around ten fifteen. 0

Given Old Zhang's stamina, it would take him until about eleven o'clock to climb up each floor and observe what was happening on every level before reaching the fifteenth floor. According to Guan Zengbin's Autopsy Report, this was when Zhang Mingliang had just died. Even allowing for a few minutes of error, there was no way that young man downstairs could have been the murderer. 0

That young man couldn't possibly fly. 0

"Do you have to be present to rape someone?" I suddenly asked this question. 0

"Are you feverish?" Guan Zengbin turned to look at me. "You could try not coming over and then touch me." 0

I threw the cushion back at him. "With your flat chest, I'd rather touch Gu Chen!" 0

Gu Chen quickly placed his hands in front of his chest, making an X with his arms. "I'm not Zhang Mingliang; I don't like men." 0

"Zhang Mingliang likes men like Gao Rui; he probably wouldn't even look at you," Guan Zengbin added with a jab. 0

The night passed without further conversation. 0

In Captain Shao's office. 0

The police had already begun searching the entire city for Principal Zhang, but there was still no trace of him, as if he had evaporated from the world. Mary retrieved data from the train station, bus station, and airport, only to find that Principal Zhang hadn't purchased any tickets using his ID. The surveillance footage from various streets also showed no sign of Principal Zhang returning to his office or home after the murder. 0

Strangely, the surveillance cameras near Principal Zhang's home seemed to have been tampered with during those days. 0

"I think Principal Zhang might have committed suicide out of guilt," Mary mumbled while eating watermelon. 0

"Wu Meng, team leader, we have a lead," Xiao Liu burst through the door. 0

Captain Shao continued holding the white teacup and asked, "What's going on? You look rushed; is someone dead?" 0

Xiao Liu wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Yes, a body was found on the mountain—it's in terrible condition." 0

"By the way, Xiao Guan, bring that box up," Captain Shao said. 0

Guan Zengbin's eyes lit up as he replied, "Is this the toolbox from Yang the Healer?" 0

"Yes, specially made by the department," Captain Shao confirmed. "I mentioned before that one day this box might end up in your hands." 0

"What about Yang the Healer?" Guan Zengbin asked. "I haven't heard anything about her in years." 0

Captain Shao waved his hand, seemingly unwilling to discuss it further. "Go on, there are bodies waiting for you at the scene." 0

The weather was still as hot as a furnace. Gu Chen and I decided to strip off our shirts and sat in a makeshift shade set up by the villagers, watching Guan Zengbin conduct an autopsy on a body inside the tent. 0

This corpse was even more gruesome than Zhang Mingliang's. The face was so decayed that it was unrecognizable, and the entire body had liquefied. The body fluids soaked through the clothing, attracting countless flies. However, after the shock of the last incident, Gu Chen and I were clearly handling it much better. 0

Seeing Guan Zengbin drenched in sweat made us feel a bit ashamed as we sat there. I took a towel, poured some mineral water on it, and walked over to her side. 0

Guan Zengbin was focused on the autopsy when I handed her the towel to wipe her sweat. "Any discoveries?" I asked. 0

Holding the autopsy tools with both hands and allowing me to wipe her forehead, she slowly replied, "Yes, a significant discovery. Do you know who this person is?" 0

"Who?" I asked. 0

"This person is Principal Zhang!" Guan Zengbin glanced at me and said calmly. 0

To think that Principal Zhang's body would be found here, and it appeared to have already decomposed severely. 0

"Do you know the time and cause of death?" I hurriedly asked. 0

Guan Zengbin nodded, seemingly busy with something in the box. "The time of death was probably a few days ago, estimated to be a few hours after Zhang Mingliang died. The cause of death was a severe blow to the head with some blunt object. It can be confirmed that it was murder." 0

Principal Zhang killed Zhang Mingliang, and then someone killed Principal Zhang? 0

"Xiao Liu, how was the body discovered?" I called out to Xiao Liu, who was taking notes in the distance. 0

"The body was found on the mountain. Someone had dug a shallow grave, and while passing by, another person noticed a piece of clothing sticking out, which led to the discovery," Xiao Liu shouted back. 0

"Not buried very deep?" I asked. 0

"That's right," Xiao Liu replied. "The villager said it was easy to find; it’s just that not many people walk through that area." 0

Just when one wave had settled, another arose. 0

Who knows about Principal Zhang's movements? 0

Those who knew about Principal Zhang's actions must have had a good relationship with him, and I happened to know of such a person. 0

Could he be the murderer who killed Principal Zhang? 0
