I suggested finding a place for Xiaohua. I knew she couldn't stay at home any longer; her son and daughter-in-law had never liked her and had always been harsh with her. Now, it seemed they had even resorted to hitting her because of my involvement. 0

But Xiaohua firmly refused. 0

"Grandma, I know you’ve worked hard," she said. "But you're getting older, and your health isn't good." 0

"I just found a job not long ago. If you find me a place to live..." Xiaohua lowered her head. 0

I understood what she meant. She didn't want to trouble me. 0

"Then why don't you just live with me?" I proposed a compromise. 0

Xiaohua thought for a moment and eventually agreed. 0

When Xiaohua arrived at my house, she was stunned. 0

"Grandma, is this really your home now?" 0

"It's so beautiful!" 0

"It's completely different from the old place." 0

Xiaohua was right. The old house was filled with my late husband’s stinky socks, piles of dirty clothes from my son, and takeout boxes carelessly thrown around by my daughter-in-law. The whole place was a mess. 0

Now, my home was clean and tidy. A few pots of small flowers sat on the windowsill. 0

The entire house was filled with a pleasant fragrance. On my bookshelf sat foreign books, one after another. On the balcony, there was an unfinished oil painting of mine. 0

"Grandma, you really are amazing." 0

"Did you paint all these oil paintings?" 0

I smiled and nodded. Little Hua took my hand, and I led her to explore my new home. 0

"Grandma, you can finally live for yourself." 0

"I support you." 0

I gently patted her head with a smile. 0

"Little Hua, you've grown up now." 0

"You need to take good care of yourself too." 0

"If you ever feel wronged, you must tell me." 0

Little Hua nodded. 0

That day, Little Hua and I had tea together. She lifted her teacup and raised it toward me. 0

"Grandma, a toast with tea instead of wine." 0

"Congratulations on your new life, Grandma!" 0

From today onward, I was no longer anyone's wife or mother. I was just myself, Su Ki. 0

That day, Little Hua and I talked about many things she didn't know. In truth, before I got married, I was a highly talented student; I had simply been blinded by so-called love back then. I had given up my dream of painting for my partner, but now that I'm older, it's not too late. 0

Little Hua held my hand tightly. 0

"Grandma, keep going!" 0

"You will definitely succeed!" 0

I nodded seriously. 0
From now on, I am determined to study art-related knowledge earnestly. 0
Every day, I sit by my desk, flipping through book after book, taking notes. 0
Xiaohua was inspired by me and picked up a book to study alongside me. 0
"Grandma, I've noticed you're completely different from before." 0
Curiously, I asked, "What's different?" 0
Xiaohua replied earnestly, "You seem more energetic than before." 0
"You embrace many new things." 0
"Like takeout, KFC." 0
I laughed and said, "I used to think those things were just for young people." 0
"But after I tried them, I found they are really good food." 0
"I like them a lot." 0
Xiaohua smiled. 0
"Grandma, you’re quite young now too." 0
"Let’s go out and have some fun this afternoon." 0
"I'll wear my Hanfu, and you can take pictures of me." 0
"Sure!" I agreed readily. 0
Ever since Xiaohua moved out, I've become more positive and motivated. 0
I help Xiaohua with her packages and experience the joy of shopping like a young person. 0
That evening, just as Xiaohua was preparing dinner for me, the doorbell rang. 0
