"Am I too suspicious?" I pointed at my own nose. "Bao Lan, ask yourself honestly, have I ever deceived you?"
"You..." Bao Lan sighed, "Wei Yiming, we just got married; can we not argue?"

"Then why are you fixating on my brother?"

"I..." Bao Lan opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something but ultimately said nothing.
That night, as we went to bed, she leaned over and pressed against me. I sighed and held her in my arms.
She whispered, "Wei Yiming, let's go travel."
"Travel?"
"Yes," Bao Lan said with a smile. "You promised me we would go on our honeymoon."
I felt something was off with Bao Lan. Just after getting married, she had emptied the money from my Salary Card.
I asked, "Bao Lan, how did you spend all the money from my Salary Card?"
She replied, "I invested it."
"Investing?" I widened my eyes. "Bao Lan, are you out of your mind?"
"What's wrong?"
"Do you understand investing?"
"I don't."
"Nine out of ten investments fail, do you get that?"
"I'm telling you, those so-called investment schemes are scams."
"But..."
"You've been fooled."
"No way." Bao Lan shook her head. "Wei Yiming, trust me, my money is safe where it is. You'll get the interest next month."
"Alright." Bao Lan leaned closer, wrapping her arms around mine, and said sweetly, "Honey, can you just believe me this once?"
I sighed and fell silent.
In truth, I wanted to tell her that it wasn't the money I was worried about; I was concerned she might get scammed. But in the end, I held my tongue.
When she called me "honey," it softened my heart. We had just gotten married, and I didn't want to argue with her over something so trivial.
However, to be honest, I was quite disappointed in our marriage. Bao Lan said that our wedding night was the real beginning for us. Yet here we were a month later, and she had been so indifferent towards me.
This left me feeling confused. That night, as I finally drifted off to sleep, I suddenly recalled the scene from that day in the hotel room.
I thought about the Salary Card again. I tapped my head to shake off those thoughts. But those doubts grew wildly in my heart like weeds.
Finally, I drifted off to sleep. Bao Lan had also fallen asleep. The next day, she woke up early to make breakfast for me and packed my lunch as well. I hugged her, gave her a kiss, and smiled, saying, "Wife, you’re so wonderful."
"Since you know I'm wonderful, you should treat me well," she replied.
"What have I done that's not good enough for you?"
"You just don't treat me well enough in every way."
"Then what do you want me to do?"
"You..." Bao Lan sighed, "Never mind, just go to work."
"Okay." I nodded. "I'm off then."
"Mm."
As I stepped out of the house, the first thing I did was ask Ma Gui Fang for a leave of absence. Then I canceled my Salary Card and checked the bills. I discovered that Bao Lan had been transferring money into different personal accounts over the past few months instead of the investment company's account.
I frowned and sent these account details to the police, asking them to look into it. However, they informed me that the total amount was less than five thousand yuan and they wouldn’t take action. Gritting my teeth, I decided to investigate on my own.
At noon, instead of eating at the office, I bought a small gift and went to Bao Lan's workplace. I wanted to gather some information under the guise of giving her a surprise. But the receptionist informed me that Bao Lan had resigned over two months ago.
