However, with so many people around me, there was nothing to be afraid of. I smiled and said, "It’s like this every year. The elevator is in such bad shape and they still haven't fixed it. I wonder where all the property fees are going." 0

No one answered me, and I felt a bit awkward; the atmosphere was strange. I anxiously watched the numbers on the elevator display. Today, the elevator was particularly slow; it had taken quite a while to reach the third floor. 0

"Smells so good!" an old lady with a face full of wrinkles suddenly looked at me and said. 0

"My mom makes the best food. These two portions are something new I haven't tried yet. Grandma, have you eaten? If you don't mind, I can share some with you." 0

"No, no, it's fine," the old lady smiled, saying no with her mouth while her eyes honestly stared at my bowl. 0

"It's okay, go ahead and eat!" I offered it to her. 0

The old lady shook her head while still staring at my bowl. "Really, it's not necessary." 0

However, a long-haired woman standing behind her said, "Little sister, I haven't eaten either. Why don't you share some with me?" 0

"Sure." I handed the food to her just as the elevator chimed and reached the fourth floor. 0

As the long-haired woman took a bowl from me, she grabbed my hand and said, "I live on the fourth floor. Come over to my place for a bit. Once I'm done eating, you can take your bowl back." 0

Before I could react, I was already pulled out of the elevator by the long-haired woman. When did she press the button for four? How did I miss that? 0

To my surprise, everyone in the elevator got off as well; even the old lady followed suit. "Little girl, since you have two bowls of food, I'll join you for dinner too!" 0

I felt a bit confused about what was happening with these two people. It was all very strange. Especially the old lady—one moment she wanted to eat and the next she didn’t. Was it pride getting in the way? Did she think it would be inappropriate to eat from my bowl? 0

I didn’t think too much about it and nodded. Just as I was about to say "okay," the long-haired woman became upset. "You old lady! You refused to eat when I offered it earlier; now you're trying to take someone else's food?" 0

I didn't like how the long-haired woman spoke to the elderly lady, and seeing that she made her feel sad stirred my sympathy. So I said, "It's fine; you can both eat together since there are two bowls." 0

Who would have thought that the long-haired woman would throw a tantrum? "Little sister, if you're going to be nice about it, know that I have a big appetite! One bowl won't be enough for me; if you only give me one bowl, I'll have to go get more food later..." 0

Seeing this, the old lady trembled slightly and said, "Oh dear, never mind then; my wife isn't starving either..." 0

As she turned to leave, I quickly grabbed her arm. "Grandma, why don't you wait here for me? I'll go home and get some more." 0

Upon hearing this, the Long-Haired Woman seemed displeased. "Alright! I'll just eat a little less today. Let's hurry to my house; otherwise, the food will get cold." 0

This time, Grandma didn’t refuse again, but on our way to the Long-Haired Woman's house, she muttered, "That old hag is just trying to steal my food." 0

I was about to get angry, but Grandma acted as if she hadn’t heard a thing. 0

Oh well, it’s just two bowls of rice! It's my fault; I shouldn’t have asked if they wanted to eat. Since Grandma didn’t mind, I decided not to say anything further. 0

The Woman lived in a cozy one-bedroom apartment, which made sense for a single woman like her who probably didn’t want to cook much. 0

I placed the rice on the Tea Table, and while the woman went to wash her hands, Grandma leaned over and whispered to me, "Little girl, you've already eaten, right?" 0

"Yes, Grandma." 0

"Then when we eat later, you mustn’t eat anything she offers you. It’s not good for young girls to eat too much; it can make you gain weight." 0

"Um..." I felt a bit annoyed. How could Grandma say that? I’m slim and cute; I don’t need to lose weight! It sounded as if she thought I was fat. 0

"Little girl, come wash your hands too! I have some cherries imported from America; you can try them later!" The woman called from the bathroom. 0

I hurried over. "Okay!" I had just finished eating and hadn’t washed my hands yet. 0

Grandma’s words faded from my mind. Even if what she said about gaining weight were true, eating some fruit couldn’t be wrong. After all, fruit after a meal is great for beauty and weight loss! 0

While washing my hands, the woman asked me, "Little girl, my name is Helena. What’s yours?" 0

"I’m called Youmai Vegetable." 0

"Youmai Vegetable? Hehe, that’s an interesting name—natural and healthy." She covered her mouth with her long fingers and laughed. "In this day and age, there aren’t many pure and unpolluted beauties like you." 0

"Thank you." Alright, even though I knew I was just average-looking, being called a beauty made me feel a bit giddy! 0

Helena handed me a bottle of green liquid from the sink. "This is hand sanitizer. You should give it to that old lady; I just had a conflict with her, and I'm afraid she won't want to use it." 0

I was all for washing hands before meals, so I readily accepted and took the hand sanitizer to the old lady. 0

"Grandma, wash your hands! Washing before meals can help you fend off a million kinds of bacteria!" 0

"You young people are so fussy," the old lady grumbled, but she still poured some hand sanitizer onto her hands. 0

"Ah—" But as soon as the hand sanitizer touched her skin, she suddenly screamed, and smoke began to rise from her hands! 0

I was stunned; her hands were smoking but not on fire. I had no idea what to do! 0

"Helena! Helena, come here!" I had no other choice but to call for her. 0

The old lady gripped her hands tightly, gritting her teeth and glaring at me fiercely. "You... run away..." 0

I didn't understand what was happening when Helena emerged from the bathroom. Seeing the old lady in pain, she burst into laughter. "How does it feel, you old hag? Enjoying the taste of Soul Cleansing Water?" 0

The old lady's expression changed dramatically. "Soul Cleansing Water! You actually have Soul Cleansing Water?" 0

"I have plenty of things. Do you want to try something else?" Helena taunted. 0

"Can someone tell me what Soul Cleansing Water is?" I was anxious and wanted to jump up and down. After all, it was me who handed it to the old lady; I was an accomplice in this mess. 0

But the old lady suddenly shouted, "Don't ask! Just go!" 0

Although I didn't know why, Helena had turned the old lady into this state, and she certainly wasn't a good person either. So I abandoned my bowl and prepared to run outside. 0

"Leave? Is it that easy?" Helena blocked the doorway with a seductive smile. "I never expected the Supreme Spirit Tool to be so simple-minded, not even knowing what Soul Cleansing Water is. Hey, weren't your seals supposed to be lifted? Why are you still so clueless?" 0

Supreme Spirit Tool? 0

She knows I'm a spirit tool? Does that mean she's like those two Lizard Spirits—one of those monsters? 0

"Turns out you don't want to eat my flesh!" 0

"Of course not! What’s more delicious than your body? But that old hag isn’t any good either; she wants to eat you too, little sister. It's better for someone as naive as you not to wander around in the human world. Come follow your sister!" Helena suddenly extended her hand, her nails transforming into claws that were a palm's length, aimed directly at my throat. 0

This is it! I'm really going to die! 0

But the anticipated pain never came. The old lady had somehow stepped in front of me, and Helena's long claws pierced through her hand. 0

I quickly seized the opportunity to open the door, but to my dismay, that damned woman had locked it from the inside! 0

Seeing her attack fail, Helena shouted in frustration, "Old hag, how dare you ruin my plans!" She withdrew her claws and opened her mouth wide. Her once beautiful face twisted into a grotesque mask, her hair flowing like it was alive, dragging on the ground. Her teeth were dark, and a long red tongue shot out with a "swish," lunging toward us. 0

Terrified, I crouched down, but the old lady suddenly let out a cold snort filled with authority. The air around us began to chill, and I felt as if I was about to freeze solid. 0

"Just a Hanged Ghost; do you really think I'm afraid of you?" she hissed, her arm stretching unnaturally long as she reached for Helena's head. 0

In an instant, I saw a blur before hearing Helena's scream. When I looked up again, the old lady had grabbed Helena's hair, leaving her head bald like a boiled egg. 0

"Hahaha!" I couldn't help myself; I forgot for a moment that I was the prey in this situation. 0

However, I never expected that beneath Helena's glamorous exterior was a bald head. What a surprise! 0
