I screamed and leaped out of bed, my heart racing wildly. My ears buzzed with the sound of my own heartbeat; the scene I had just witnessed was terrifying, and it took a great deal of effort to calm myself down. 0

I picked up my phone to check what it meant to dream about being bitten by a snake. The screen said it indicated a recent violation on a physiological level, which meant it referred to last night’s events. Dreams are not always about predicting the future; they can also interpret the past. 0

This is similar to the concepts of foresight and hindsight, where the former refers to predictions about the future, while the latter pertains to memories of the past. 0

Suddenly feeling a bit parched, I grabbed a cup and took a sip of water. I casually removed the face mask from my face and placed it in the wooden box before heading to the bathroom to wash my face. 0

After washing my face, I made faces at the mirror to stretch my muscles, but then I was startled to find that no matter what expression I made or how much I pinched myself, I couldn’t see my moving hands in the reflection. The person in the mirror looked stiff and pale, as if lifeless. 0

My heart skipped a beat, and a chill ran down my spine. "It can't be this eerie, can it?" 0

Just as I thought that, the woman in the mirror suddenly smiled at me, revealing blood-red teeth that stretched wide enough to reach her earlobes. I stumbled back a few steps and crashed into a wall of flesh, screaming in terror. 0

"Why are you screaming? It's me." 0

I turned around to see Chu Fan standing behind me, looking handsome with a smirk on his face as he tilted his head at me. 0

"Ghost! Help me! There's a ghost!" 0

I didn’t even know why I was asking a ghost for help. But then again, since he wouldn’t harm me and was my husband from the underworld, wasn’t it only right for him to protect me? 0

"First of all, I'm not a ghost; my name is Jun Chong," Chu Fan said, raising two fingers. "Secondly, have you lost your mind? What ghost would dare approach you in front of your My Ghost Husband?" 0

His arrogance frustrated me. Could I really be so mistaken? 0

I turned to the mirror and said, "Look, the person in the mirror has no expression at all. No matter what I do here, they can't see—" 0

Before I could finish my sentence, I choked on my own words. The reflection in the mirror mirrored my actions perfectly; where was the blank expression from earlier? 0

Could it be that I really saw it wrong? 0

"In the future, if you're going to lie, make sure you have a good excuse. Don't use a ghost to deceive another ghost." 0

Chu Fan turned and walked out, casually adding, "This is your place? It looks just like a doghouse." 0

I opened my mouth to retort, but then I caught sight of that wooden, expressionless face in the mirror again. I reached up and pinched my cheek, only to find that my reflection remained utterly unmoved. 0

I gasped and immediately ran outside. 0

I felt certain that I hadn't been mistaken. But could it really not be a ghost? 0

If it were a ghost, it shouldn't be able to feel anything. But if it wasn't a ghost, then what could it be? 0

Or perhaps he was deliberately trying to trick me? 0

In the end, I settled on that last thought. He had been leading me into a trap from the very beginning; he wouldn't let me off easily. I was absolutely certain of this, feeling both fear and anger towards him. 0

Seeing him sprawled carelessly on my bed, with clean underwear lying next to the pillow that he was now playing with in his hands, made my face burn with embarrassment. 0

"Give that back to me." 0

Without thinking, I rushed over to grab him, but as he lifted his hand, I missed and ended up crashing into his embrace. My waist tightened suddenly as Chu Fan wrapped his arms around me, turning his body to pin me down firmly. His warm breath washed over me. 0

"Delivered right to my door; I'm not one to let such an opportunity slip by." 0

He smiled charmingly, and I felt my heart flutter. I couldn't deny it was because Chu Fan was just too handsome. 0

But in the next moment, I exploded with frustration. "Y-You, let go of me!" 0

"I can let you go." 0

"What?" I didn't expect him to be so accommodating, and I was momentarily taken aback. 0

"But you have to kiss me and promise me one thing." 0

I pouted. Kiss him? 0

No way! 0

Agreeing to his request? With that mischievous grin of his, I knew it wouldn't be anything good. 0

But if I didn't comply, how would I get out of this situation? 0
