I sat there in a daze for a long time, my heart still unsettled. 0

Weakly, I got up to wash my face. A cold breeze brushed against my neck, and the bathroom light flickered suddenly. I shivered as the curtains, which I hadn’t pulled open, rustled loudly, even though the window was firmly shut. 0

There was no wind, yet it felt like there was. 0

Instinctively, I stepped back when suddenly something wet licked my heel. The cool sensation felt like a cold snake. 0

“Meow~” 0

My scream was abruptly stifled in my throat as a black cat with golden eyes stared intently at me before suddenly leaping towards my face. 0

I instinctively raised my hands to shield my face but felt nothing. When I opened my eyes again, the cat had vanished. 0

Confused, I blinked and looked up at the mirror, only to find that I was wearing a face mask. But I hadn’t applied one before going to sleep, and I had just washed my face—there was no sensation of it at all. 0

Recalling the bizarre encounter with the black cat that had appeared and disappeared so suddenly made me tremble; my hands and feet felt icy. 0

I tried to remove the face mask but couldn’t take it off no matter what. 0

“You can’t take it off.” 0

As I touched the reflection in the mirror, I instinctively leaned back against the wall. The cold tiles seeped through my thin pajamas, chilling me to the bone. 0

The person in the mirror was me. 0

But not me. 0

In the same pajamas was the face of a strange woman. 0

It was the woman from before in the mirror. 0

Her mouth twisted into a grin, her knife-like teeth dripping with blood. Her cold gaze radiated frost as she extended her hand and pointed at me. 0

“He is mine.” 0

I felt a surge of panic as my body moved uncontrollably, mimicking her actions and echoing her words. 0

A cold wind swept through, wrapping around my neck like an icy grip, suffocating me with its chilling presence and the heavy scent of blood. 0

"So you must die." 0

I watched in horror as the reflection in the mirror showed my neck suddenly splitting open, bright red blood spraying out as another head emerged from the gash. 0

"Ah—" 0

I could no longer bear the sight and scrambled toward the door. 0

In my haste to escape, I forgot my phone, and as the morning breeze hit me, my mind was a chaotic mess. 0

"Child, your forehead is darkening, and you are surrounded by an Eerie Aura." 0

A voice from the street halted my steps. I turned to see the fortune teller from before. 0

I had never been one to believe in such things, but after everything that had happened, I found it hard not to. 0

Seeing my panicked expression, the fortune teller stroked his goatee and beckoned me over. "Child, come sit here." 0

I walked over in a daze and noticed a Bagua Mirror on the table. I felt a wave of resistance; the reflection showed me wearing a Face Mask that I couldn't remove. 0

This sudden shift made my heart race even more. "Master, please help me! I—I’m being haunted by a ghost." 0

The fortune teller pointed at my face. "Child, all your troubles began with this; what clings to your face is a Human Skin Mask." 0

"Human Skin Mask?" I shook my head. "Master, this Face Mask just appeared on my face and won’t come off. Then I saw myself in the mirror looking completely different." 0

"Ah—" He stroked his goatee again, letting out a long sigh. "That’s it." 0

I trembled and asked, "Can you be more straightforward?" 0

"The Face Mask is actually a Human Skin Mask from a thousand years ago. It carries the lingering essence of its original owner. It will drain your body's moisture and take over your body. You need to be careful." 0

I touched my face, fear gripping me tighter at his words. I didn’t want to be entangled with something that shouldn’t exist. "How can I get it off?" 0

"Give it blood, smear it all over your face, and you can take it down," the fortune teller said. "Do you still have that box?" 0

"It's at home; I haven't had the chance to throw it away yet." 0

The fortune teller nodded and then asked, "Is the Peach Branch still there?" 0

"Peach Branch?" I tried to recall. "I accidentally broke it, so I threw it away." 0

"This is bad," the fortune teller frowned, making my heart drop. "That Peach Branch is the key to the seal, and the box is the Container. Without those two, its remnants will continue to cause trouble unless you can destroy the Human Skin Mask." 0

I nervously placed my hands on the table and asked, "What... what should I do?" 0

"Go find it. It doesn't matter if it's broken; as long as you can insert it back, that's enough." 0

"But what if it's gone? Or what if a regular Peach Branch doesn't work?" 0

The fortune teller shook his head. "Young lady, take care of yourself!" 0

He refused to say anything more, and seeing that I couldn't get any more information out of him, I had no choice but to leave. 0

As I turned around, I didn't notice that passersby were looking at me with very strange expressions. 0
