By the time Lin You and I arrived at the entrance of the Picturesque Hotel, half an hour had already passed. Lin You insisted on taking a detour, claiming it was like hiking, and led me down a muddy path. My legs felt weak by the time we reached the hotel, and I collapsed onto the bed, unable to stand up again. 0

"Look at you, you never exercise, so you can't even handle this little walk," Lin You said cheerfully as she wandered around the hotel room. Shizui had booked a room halfway up the mountain, offering a fantastic view. 0

In front of us were beautiful mountains, and behind us was a small waterfall. The trees provided shade in front while the sound of flowing water came from behind. Even at the end of May, it felt as refreshing as if the air conditioning was on. 0

I turned over, hugging the soft pillow and feeling incredibly comfortable. "I don’t know why, but I’ve been feeling so weak lately. I just feel so tired." 0

"Are you not going to join me for an adventure then?" Lin You asked as she changed her shoes and tied her hair back, shaking it out with ease. 0

I waved my hand dismissively. "Just be careful and remember to come back before dark." 0

"Got it!" 0

With that, Lin You grabbed her bag and headed out. I turned over, kicked off my shoes, and quickly fell into a deep sleep. 0

In my hazy state, I thought I heard scolding voices and crying nearby. I guessed it was Jun Chong trying to scare Mumu again. I wanted to get up to stop them, but I was too exhausted to open my eyes for some reason. 0

However, the two of them seemed quite affectionate together, almost like father and son. 0

I lost track of time when I felt someone turn me over. A cool sensation began to explore my abdomen back and forth for quite a while. It felt like the cold breeze from an air conditioner—extremely comfortable—causing me to unconsciously wrap my arms around whatever it was, pulling it tightly into my embrace before rolling over on top of it. 0

"Ah, this feels so good; it's nice and cool," I murmured as I rubbed my face against it and drifted back to sleep. 0

I slept soundly, and it was the call from Lin You that woke me up. Her voice, still full of energy after an afternoon of fun, rang out, "Anxin, come down for dinner! There's a handsome hot pot! Hurry up, I'm waiting for you at the buffet restaurant next to the hotel." 0

"Oh." 0

Half-closing my eyes, I tossed my phone aside and snuggled against the cool object beside me, hoping to doze off again. To my surprise, I brushed against something soft and slightly damp on my forehead. Slowly lifting my head, I opened my blurry eyes. 0

Jun Chong's dark pupils glimmered with a rich light, appearing particularly deep against the backdrop of darkness enveloping the earth. 0

Thanks to the moonlight, I realized I was sprawled over Jun Chong like an octopus. His dark robe was in disarray, exposing his fragrant shoulder and broad chest, which looked especially alluring under the moonlight. 0

I swallowed hard and smiled faintly when our eyes met—his filled with anger. I then got off him and casually straightened his clothes. 0

"Sorry, I dreamt it was Ice Pillow and thought it felt comfortable to hug it. I didn't expect it to be you, haha." 0

"You took me for Ice Pillow?" Jun Chong raised an eyebrow, and I knew this excuse wouldn't hold. 0

"Well, it wasn't intentional! Who told you to be so cool and comfortable?" I lowered my head and muttered softly, "You could have just pushed me away! You're so petty." 0

"What did you say?" 0

"I didn't say anything." I shook my head immediately, grinning as I prepared to get up. "Xiao You called me down for dinner. Are you coming too—ah, Jun Chong, what are you doing?" 0

Before I could finish my sentence or even sit up properly, Monarch and Minister yanked me back forcefully, pinning me against the bed. With a swift motion, he pressed down on me. 0

Though it wasn't the first time I'd been pinned like this, each time brought the same heart-pounding thrill. Looking at his furious face made my cheeks flush and my heart race uncontrollably. 0

"W-what are you going to do?" 0

"Gu Anxin, tell me," Jun Chong said, his handsome face leaning closer to me, so close that I could feel the cool breath escaping his lips. "Have you been with me?" 0

"…" 0

My face flushed like steam bursting from a kettle, almost emitting a whimper as if smoke were rising from my head. 0

The last time I was asked something like this was by Molin, and now Jun Chong was being so direct. I couldn't utter a single shy word. 0

"Blushing means you admit it." 0

Jun Chong looked at me thoughtfully, his tightly pressed lips and deep-set eyes revealing nothing of his thoughts. My heart raced, and I weakly asked, "Are you angry?" 0

Jun Chong didn't answer. He stepped away from me and walked to the window, opening it wide. 0

The night wind from the mountains carried a refreshing chill. I turned to glance at his broad back, the black strands of his hair floating in the breeze like soft silk. His handsome profile was shrouded in a hazy glow under the moonlight, familiar yet distant. 0

This version of Jun Chong always left me with an indescribable feeling. The hint of pride in his posture resembled that dream so closely. I could sense the turmoil within him; it wasn't happiness. 0

"Jun Chong." 0

He didn't respond. Suddenly, he leaped out of sight through the window. I rushed to the edge and shouted, "Where are you going?" 0

But he didn't answer me. 0

I loved Jun Chong; I wanted to share all burdens with him. I wished for him to live easily. But if my love affected him negatively, if it made him unhappy, then should I really let go? 0

A dull ache settled in my heart as I looked at the Twinborn Vine on my right arm, my nose tinged with bitterness. 0

"Sister." Mumu's voice interrupted my thoughts. I turned to see him walking towards me from the corner of the wall, his face slightly flushed under the moonlight, and he blinked his eyes at me. 0

"What’s wrong?" 0

I hugged him tightly, pinching his soft cheeks, feeling a pang of nostalgia for Tao Wu. I wondered how she was doing. 0

"Are you and Brother a couple?" Mumu asked, his adorable eyes shining with curiosity. 0

I nodded. "I suppose so! Why do you ask?" 0

"Because Granny Mi said only couples can do those kinds of things." Mumu's little eyes darted around, rosy like watermelon juice. "Just now, when you were asleep, Brother kept kissing you." 0

With a loud thud, I nearly dropped Mumu as my hands went slack. 0

"What did you say?" I turned to him in disbelief. "He kissed me?" 0

"Yeah." Mumu seemed startled by my reaction, a hint of fear in his eyes. "Brother was also touching your belly and talking to you, but I couldn't hear what he said." 0

I frowned and fell silent. 0

Indeed, Jun Chong had been a source of heartache since he returned with amnesia. He seemed reluctant to stay by my side these days, yet whenever danger approached, he would still come to my rescue. Though his words could be harsh, his heart was ultimately kind. 0

I had always thought that was just his nature, but Mumu's words left me even more confused. 0

Jun Chong should not love me now, yet he kissed me—why was that? 0

Could it be— 0

A thought flashed through my mind, and I suddenly felt both surprised and flustered. The surprise was that Jun Chong might not actually have amnesia. The fluster came from the realization that he must have some purpose behind his actions, perhaps to protect me. 0

As my thoughts raced, my mind became chaotic. Regardless of the possibilities, I held onto one belief: his safety and happiness. 0

When Lin You called for the second time, I finally took Mumu downstairs. Mumu, being a little ghost, didn’t need to eat, and the restaurant had a playground for children. Seeing him eager to play, I let him go. 0

As I approached, I noticed Lin You's handsome friend—around thirty years old—who resembled Wallace Chung. His looks and demeanor were exactly to my liking, and such men were Lin You's Achilles' heel. 0

"Anxin, over here," Lin You called me over and introduced us. "This is my best friend Gu Anxin, and this is Su Ziqian, Mr. Su, who is also traveling with us." 0

"Hello, Miss Gu." 0

Su Ziqian stood up to shake my hand. I smiled and extended my hand in return. "Hello, Mr. Su." 0

The moment our hands touched, a jolt ran through me as fragments of memories flashed rapidly in my mind—familiar yet elusive. 0

"Miss Gu, are you alright?" 0

"Sorry, I was rude." 0

"Miss Gu, would you like something to drink?" 0

"Just water, thank you." 0

Su Ziqian carried himself with an air of sophistication typical of high society. Although he was dressed casually, it couldn’t hide his natural elegance; he wore a T-shirt with the grace of a tailored suit. 0

I had barely said a few words when Su Ziqian's phone rang. "Sorry, I need to take this call." 0

As soon as he left, Lin You leaned in and whispered to me, "Isn't he just stunning? Although his looks can't compare to your Jun Chong, his behavior is so gentlemanly—much better than your Jun Chong." 0

I coughed lightly and pinched her under the table. "Have you forgotten about your Mr. Shizui?" 0

Lin You replied without missing a beat, "Mr. Shizui is someone you can admire from afar but can't get too close to. This one, though, is definitely someone you could consider pursuing." 0

"You're such a fickle flower." 0

I shot her a glare and took a sip of my drink. It was peak dinner time, and while many people were walking by outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, very few chose to dine at this restaurant. There were only a few scattered tables occupied around us. I thought the food was quite good and casually asked, "Why aren't there more people coming to this place with such delicious food?" 0

"I don't know." Lin You pushed a pudding toward me. "Try this; it's really good." 0

The pudding was sweet and tasted great, but before I could swallow even a bite, I turned my head and gagged. My stomach churned uncomfortably. Lin You patted my back and handed me a glass of water. "Are you feeling unwell?" 0

"I'm fine; I just feel nauseous lately." 0

"You’re not... are you?" Lin You said teasingly. I rolled my eyes. "If I were, would I not know?" 0

"Oh wow, so that means you two really have been intimate?" Lin You's curiosity piqued instantly. "How did it happen? Was it through some kind of astral projection or soul separation?" 0

I was at a loss for words when Mumu suddenly rushed over to me, curling up in my arms with a frightened expression. "Sister, something is approaching! It's so scary; it's right over there." 0

At that moment, the lights in the restaurant began to flicker ominously. 0
