Black Water, mixed with who knows what, emitted a foul odor reminiscent of a stinking sewer, making one feel nauseous. Yet, my arm did not hurt; it was just that the more Black Water flowed, the larger the rotting area became, with skeletal remains faintly visible. 0

Jun Chong remained silent, lifting my hand and watching the Black Water seep out. His hands trembled slightly, revealing his uncertainty. 0

Su Ziqian leaned coolly against the sofa, elegantly crossing her legs. "Though the Lord of the Abyss is powerful, he has lost his position as the King of the Underworld, which means he lacks certain abilities." 0

"What abilities?" I asked nervously, fearing that Jun Chong might have sustained injuries he was unwilling to disclose. 0

Su Ziqian smiled faintly and explained, "Purification. Besides the Ghost Doctor, only the King of the Underworld possesses purification abilities. However, the current King, Jun Rui, has been afflicted by the dark thoughts of the Demon King, rendering him incapable of purification. He cannot help you! Furthermore, there are likely very few Ghost Doctors left in the Underworld who can purify. Even if you were to search for one, it wouldn't be a matter of days. At this rate of Miasma, you will be consumed within a day." 0

Su Ziqian's words rang true; in no time at all, green had already spread over my entire arm, followed swiftly by black. The skin on my arm was rotting away on its own, creeping up toward my body. 0

I feared that soon my arm would separate from my body entirely, leaving nothing behind while I slowly succumbed to death without any sensation. 0

Jun Chong knelt on one knee on the ground, watching the speed at which the Miasma spread. A chilling aura emanated from him that could rival a freezer. I knew he didn’t want Su Family to interfere in my matters and understood that Su Ziqian's appearance at this moment was meant to put him in debt to Su Family. But as his wife, regardless of my condition, I should stand by my husband. 0

So I said, "Jun Chong, don’t worry about me—I—" 0

"Su Ziqian, save her." 0

The simple five words were pronounced clearly and forcefully between clenched teeth. I was taken aback as I saw his eyes flicker with unwillingness and helpless compromise. The words I wanted to blurt out were abruptly silenced by that expression and turned into a soft sigh. 0

"This is your decision!" Su Ziqian stood up from the sofa and walked over to me. "In that case, give her to me, but you are not allowed to follow." 0

A sharp look crossed Jun Chong's eyes as he warned her not to push her luck. However, Su Ziqian pretended not to notice and smiled while resting her chin on one hand. "I want to take her to the Su Family Pure Heart Pool for purification. That’s the Su Family’s main territory; if you follow along, even if you don’t care about how others perceive you, you must think of Anxin. After all, not everyone in Su Family knows about your relationship." 0

Jun Chong's hands clenched tightly before loosening repeatedly until he finally released them completely. His fingers curled slightly as he stood up from the ground. His dark gaze fixed intently on me with a hint of reluctance as if he had a thousand words to say but ultimately condensed them into one sentence: "Bring her back safely." 0

"Of course." 0

Su Ziqian took out a glassy teardrop-shaped pendant from her pocket and rolled it around my right arm. As it passed over my skin, the black mist gradually dispersed outward, slowing its spread. 0

"This is a talisman forged from the waters of the Pure Heart Pool. Wearing it will help you resist a certain degree of Miasma." 0

He hung the talisman around my neck and then picked me up. Jun Chong's eyes flashed with displeasure, but he remained silent. At that moment, I knew that my safety was the most important thing to him. 0

"Oh, by the way. I've asked Smile to look into the whereabouts of Qiongqi for you. You'll be notified as soon as there's news. As for Anxin's Miasma, it won't be removed in a short time. With fifteen days approaching, I hope you can bring good news to Anxin. Bye." 0

From start to finish, it was Su Ziqian talking to himself, while Jun Chong stayed quiet. I watched the changes in his expression and wanted to tell him not to worry about me, but as the words formed on my lips, I thought of his strong pride. Being treated this way by Su Ziqian left him unable to fight back, so I swallowed my words. 0

Just as we reached the door, I turned back to look at Jun Chong, who stood still watching us leave. Unable to hold back any longer, I smiled and said, "Jun Chong, we still need a pet!" 0

Jun Chong's gaze flickered before he finally smiled back, "I will definitely get you one." 0

Su Ziqian took me to the car, and we sped away in a Lamborghini. The scenery outside the window rushed past as we flew down the highway. I lost track of time until he parked the car and led me on foot. 0

Surrounded by lush green mountains and clear waters, I had no idea where we were. The scenery was elegant, and the air was fresh; even in broad daylight, mist swirled around us like a fairyland with no end in sight. 0

"This is a barrier. Beyond it lies the Su Family headquarters. All disciples of the Su Family train here until they can stand on their own. Then they are granted a Su Family code name by the head of the family and can go live in the city to exorcise demons and uphold justice." 0

"Is this your version of exorcising demons?" I scoffed, trying to get down from him but unable to break free. "I can walk on my own; let go." 0

"You are covered in the Eerie Aura of the Lord. If I let you go, you might be killed as an unrecognizable monster!" Su Ziqian threatened as he continued walking. "If you die, the Lord will surely go to war with the Su Family. Although the Su Family isn't afraid of him, you are his life; if you die, he will go completely insane. I think you'd rather die yourself than let him suffer for you!" 0

I gritted my teeth; he had seen everything clearly that should not have been seen. "Su Ziqian, you're ruthless." 0

"Likewise! Life is too dull without a bit of ruthlessness!" 0

In my banter with Su Ziqian, I failed to notice our surroundings until I snapped back to reality and found myself standing before a massive pool. It covered a vast area, surrounded by even more swirling mist that made it hard to see beyond an arm's length. 0

"We're here." 0

Su Ziqian set me down and pointed at the pool before us. "Get in and soak until your arm heals. Don't worry; I've arranged everything around here. Unless I give an order, no one will dare disturb you. But one thing—don't blame me for not warning you beforehand: this pool is called Pure Heart Pool; it purifies both body and mind and washes away everything else. Anxin, I'm looking forward to your transformation." 0

I heard a faint sound as I furrowed my brow. "What do you mean?" 0

Su Ziqian chuckled, giving a hearty slap that sent me tumbling into the Pure Heart Pool, leaving me no chance to resist. "It's nothing, just enjoy your soak." 0

As he spoke, his hands swiftly formed seals, and golden light rose around the pool, creating a clear protective barrier. "Just soak well. I look forward to your rebirth as part of the Su Family. Anxin, you will eventually belong to the Su Family." 0

With that, he turned and left. I pounded against the barrier desperately but found I couldn't escape. "Su Ziqian, let me out! Did you do something to me?" 0

Su Ziqian didn't look back; he simply waved his hand dismissively. "This is my heartfelt intention; you'll understand in time." 0

I blinked, feeling certain that Su Ziqian had done something else. His words hinted at something but were too vague for me to grasp immediately. 0

Looking around in the Pure Heart Pool, the environment was not shrouded in mist as it had seemed from the edge; instead, I could see every blade of grass and tree clearly, like the purest aspect of nature. 0

The water in the Pure Heart Pool wasn't very deep—only up to my thighs when sitting down, reaching my chest. The water was cool and clear but not cold; it appeared transparent yet shimmered with a rainbow-like brilliance when cupped in my hands, quite beautiful. 0

I called out for a long time without anyone responding and tried various methods to escape. However, the Qilin Hairpin showed no reaction, and even the Blood Flame Sword remained unresponsive. Time ticked by, and though the wound on my arm had completely healed, Su Ziqian still hadn't returned. 0

The sky here seemed perpetually bright; I felt as if a long time had passed without nightfall arriving, and strangely enough, I didn't feel hungry at all. 0

As I soaked longer, I sensed something within me pushing outward while other things seemed to burrow inward. It was an uncomfortable mix of warmth and chill. Just when I felt parched and wanted to drink from the pool to quench my thirst, a sudden voice startled me. 0

"If you don't want to lose what you originally have, don't drink from this pool. Once you do, there will be no turning back." 0

"Who?" 0

I turned toward the voice, feeling it came from my left but seeing nothing. The surroundings were clear; I could see the grass swaying in the wind as gentle ripples danced across the surface of the water. 0

The voice did not speak again. I quietly observed my surroundings until I spotted a translucent figure beneath a large tree on my left. It was vaguely visible that they wore a deep blue robe with long black hair cascading over their shoulders and back. The person sat there with one hand propping up their chin, seemingly dozing off. 0

"Are you human or ghost?" 0

Upon hearing my question, he shuddered slightly and lifted his head. The green leaves rustled softly, falling onto him. Instead of sliding off, the leaves settled quietly in his hair, making his figure more distinct. 0

"Can you see me?" 0

"Somewhat blurry, but it seems clearer now." 0

Yet no matter how I looked, I could not discern his features. Although we were not far apart, I could clearly see the color of his clothes. 0

He chuckled lightly, devoid of self-mockery or helplessness, instead carrying a subtle essence, like spring water—somewhat sweet yet still tasteless like plain water. 0

"The water from the Pure Heart Pool affects you; don't stay too long." 0

"But I can't leave. Su Ziqian has locked me in here." 0

I watched as he stood up from the ground. His silhouette was tall and slender, exuding an ethereal aura. Whether it was the refraction of light or something else, a hazy golden glow surrounded him, giving him a reverent presence. 0

Just looking at him, even if it was only a silhouette, brought a sense of relaxation to my body and mind, an unprecedented feeling of ease. 0

"The true cage that traps you is not made of material but of your own heart." 0

With a single wave of his hand, he vanished beneath the trees. At that moment, I heard the sound of shattering glass, and in the next second, the barrier before me broke apart. 0

Without hesitation, I climbed out of the pool and realized that everything around me was engulfed in darkness, with only the moonlight illuminating the earth swallowed by shadows. 0
