When Jiang He woke up, it was already evening, and the sky was a dull yellow, lacking any vitality. 0

Song Yao and the others had woken up earlier and were now sitting on the ground with Chao Yifan and Jinhua, whispering to each other about something. 0

Jiang He sat up, grabbed a water bottle nearby, took a couple of sips, and groggily walked over to the three of them. 0

"...this way, the chances of survival are greater... what do you think..." 0

"...but where should we go... what if the car breaks down halfway..." 0

"...the key issue is that we might run out of gas... it's still quite risky... we need to think it over..." 0

"...otherwise, should we just hide here indefinitely..." 0

Jiang He stood behind them, listening in confusion. It seemed like they were arguing about something, and their opinions were not quite aligned. 0

"What are you mumbling about?" Jiang He suddenly spoke up, startling the three of them. 0

"Oh, you're awake!" Chao Yifan grinned and pulled Jiang He down to sit on the ground. "We were just about to call you. We're discussing something important; you should share your thoughts too." 0

"What important matter?" Jiang He looked at Song Yao in confusion. The latter appeared somewhat fatigued and nodded helplessly. 0

Jinhua rested her head on her knees, her gaze wandering. She said, "While you were asleep, a lot of Zombies appeared below, coming in waves—there were hundreds of them. Yao Yao thinks we can't stay here any longer; we need to find a new place." 0

"Huh? So many!?" Jiang He was startled by the terrifying number and asked, "Where are we planning to move?" 0

Chao Yifan tossed him a cigarette and lit one for herself. "That's what we're discussing. I think staying here is safer; after all, who knows what it's like outside? Moving suddenly could be quite dangerous." 0

Jiang He thought for a moment and then looked at Song Yao. "What do you think?" 0

"I believe we should leave this place and go to another city," Song Yao said softly, looking into Jiang He's eyes. 0

"Leave? Where to?" Jiang He had never really considered leaving. 0

"Anywhere is fine, we need to find a place with living people! Are we just going to hide on this rooftop forever? Food will run out eventually, and this is where the zombies first appeared. Staying here will lead to our demise sooner or later!" Song Yao's emotions suddenly flared up as she lit a cigarette for herself and continued, "I was planning to do this even before I met you. Stockpiling all this food was for this very purpose. I can't just spend my days hiding in this dark clothing store. Since we haven't died yet, we need to think of a way out. I refuse to believe the whole country has turned into this! Is the entire world like this?" 0

Song Yao's question went unanswered as Jiang He and Chao Yifan fell into deep thought. Only Jinhua remained calm; she had no objections as long as everyone agreed. 0

After a long pause, Jiang He lifted his head and looked at Song Yao's eager gaze, asking, "If we decide to leave, I mean if... where do you plan to go? Do you have any concrete ideas?" 0

Song Yao tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, revealing her fair face. "Two routes. First, we head north towards the capital; second, we go to coastal cities. If we're lucky, we might find a boat to take us out to sea... I know it sounds a bit presumptuous, but it's better than doing nothing at all." 0

Chao Yifan perked up at the mention of "going out to sea," laughing, "Then I support the second option. I doubt these zombies can swim, but we'll need someone who knows how to operate a boat." 0

Jiang He thought for a moment and asked, "What do we need to prepare?" 0

"Vehicles, food, water, gasoline, medicine, weapons, maps... that's all I can think of for now," Song Yao replied. 0

It seemed that Song Yao had indeed been planning for a long time and had considered most of the essentials. 0

"I won't force you if you don't want to take the risk; I'll go alone," Song Yao added when no one spoke up. 0

Then everyone fell silent; after a while, Jiang He looked up in confusion and found that all three were staring at him intently. 0

"What does this mean? Have you all decided?" Jiang He exclaimed in surprise. 0

"I'm following you," Chao Yifan said as he slicked back his hair with his fingers and got up to grab a bottle of champagne from the side. 0

"I'm going with Yao Yao," Jinhua also declared. 0

Song Yao looked at Jiang He with some anticipation, which made him feel quite awkward. Jiang He rubbed his nose and forced a smile. "I never said I wouldn't go..." 0

"So you agree?" Song Yao asked. 0

Jiang He rolled his eyes and then nodded affirmatively. "Agreed." 0

"Hey, it's settled! I told you, the sea definitely has no objections!" Chao Yifan laughed as he distributed four cups to everyone. With a grand gesture, he raised his cup filled with liquor and declared, "Let's warmly celebrate the successful conclusion of the first leadership conference for survival in the apocalypse!" 0

Jiang He and the others couldn't help but laugh, clinking their cups together with a heavy thud. 0

Since they had decided to leave, there was no time to waste. The four of them rushed downstairs, rummaging through everything and piling up all the items that seemed potentially useful in a row before categorizing them one by one. 0

Most of the useful items belonged to Song Yao and Jinhua; Jiang He and Chao Yifan had long run out of supplies. The only thing that could be of any use from the bar was probably the cases upon cases of liquor, and it had to be strong alcohol. They mainly brought the liquor along as makeshift Molotov cocktails. 0

After two hours of sorting, they discarded everything useless and packed what they could into cardboard boxes, moving some of it to the car under the cover of night. 0

" Jiang He, come here for a moment," Song Yao called out as he finished up his task and saw Jiang He about to head downstairs. 0

"Huh? What's up?" 0

"I just counted with Jinhua; we have enough food and water for a while if we ration it properly, but..." Song Yao's expression turned troubled as he hesitated. 0

"Is there something bothering you?" Jiang He asked. 0

"We only have one vehicle right now. While it can fit four people without issue, there's always a chance... If this car breaks down, we'll be in serious trouble." 0
