At four o'clock in the afternoon, a complete Autopsy Report appeared before Jiang He and the others. 0

Xu Yiman held the Autopsy Report and addressed the group, "The complete Autopsy Report is out. Previously, we extracted blood and liver and kidney cells from the bodies for testing. We found no traces of any drugs in the blood of either corpse, nor were there signs of poisoning in the liver or kidney cells." 0

Xu Yiman quickly flipped through the Autopsy Report, sharing the important findings with everyone: "The brain examination revealed that neither person had experienced asphyxiation during their lifetime." 0

Jiang He interjected, "This means both individuals died while fully conscious; there was no drug-induced stupor before the murders. However, when I carefully observed the two bodies at the scene, I noted that Wu Guifeng and He Hui Juan showed no signs of struggle before their deaths." 0

Jiang He analyzed point by point: "On the bed where He Hui Juan lay, the sheets were relatively smooth, and her hands were resting calmly at her sides. In my experience, even if someone received a direct stab to the heart, they would have a few seconds to react—let alone being stabbed in the stomach." 0

"The only explanation is that someone cleaned up the scene afterward," Jiang He said with determination. "I am ninety percent sure of this. If we take this as a basis, we can deduce a conclusion: that Serrated Knife must have only one person's fingerprints on it, right?" 0

Upon hearing Jiang He's words, Wang Chao hurriedly flipped through the scene evidence record. He nodded vigorously, "You're right. After examining the physical evidence of the Serrated Knife, we found only one person's fingerprints on it. Upon comparison, they belong to Wu Guifeng." 0

At this point, Wang Chao continued, "From all the information we've gathered so far, we are starting to piece things together. Think about it—the door was locked from the inside. Even with a key, it couldn't be opened from outside. The residents live on the sixth floor; if there was a murderer involved, it would be incredibly difficult to pull off. Moreover, since both were awake at the time of their deaths, even if they couldn't overpower the murderer, they could have at least broken a window or screamed for help." 0

"Furthermore," Wang Chao pointed to the information on the record sheet, "the knife has only Wu Guifeng's fingerprints on it—this is solid evidence!" 0

Jiang He shook his head like a rattle drum. "No, we're still missing one crucial detail: what about that phone? What did Li Weiyi say about it?" 0

Wang Chao replied, "Li Weiyi left around seven in the morning and didn't notice He Hui Juan's phone when he left. He Hui Juan was a night owl; usually after going to bed she would play with her phone under the covers. She often dropped it without caring much about it. So Li Weiyi isn't sure whether He Hui Juan's phone went missing or what happened to it." 0

"In any case, the phone is very important," Jiang He stated. "A phone can't just vanish into thin air. Once we find that phone, we'll likely identify who the murderer is." 0

Xu Yiman waved her report to regain everyone's attention and cleared her throat before continuing: "This Autopsy Report isn't finished yet." 0

"My examination revealed that He Hui Juan had engaged in sexual activity prior to her death." Xu Yiman's voice was soft but each word was clear to everyone present. 0

Although solving cases has no taboos—facts are facts—several men felt a bit shy upon hearing this. They pretended to look at their surroundings as if they hadn't heard Xu Yiman at all. Jiang He, however, showed no embarrassment and boldly asked, "Can you determine if sexual activity occurred before death? How long before death did it happen? Was there any male sperm detected in her body?" 0

Jiang He's straightforward questions made some of the surrounding detectives feel uncomfortable; if it had been their previous forensic doctor Li who asked such questions among men, it wouldn't have been an issue since he was used to handling awkward situations alone. But now they were facing a beautiful forensic doctor in her late twenties, which made things quite awkward. 0

Xu Yiman was accustomed to such inquiries; after all, she had dissected various corpses since university—men and women of all ages—and she had examined more bodies than these newly arrived officers had ever seen. 0

Xu Yiman responded to Jiang He point by point, "First of all, as long as not too much time has passed, whether the deceased engaged in sexual activity can be determined through an autopsy. For instance, the contraction of the cervix, increased secretion of female hormones, and whether bodily fluids were secreted—all these can be assessed through a series of comprehensive examinations." 0

"Secondly," Xu Yiman continued, resembling a teacher in a classroom, "I cannot provide a specific timeframe for your second question, but it certainly hasn't been long. If I were to give a range, it should be within two timeframes." 0

Xu Yiman was serious. "After a woman engages in sexual activity, it takes some time for her body to return to its original state. Clearly, based on my autopsy findings, the deceased's body had not returned to normal before death. After death, the muscle tissue typically retains the last state of the body; unless there has been deliberate handling of the corpse, it can still be examined. Fortunately, the two bodies we encountered had not been dead for long, so many details can still be uncovered." 0

"Lastly," Xu Yiman sighed, "I did not find any male bodily fluids in He Hui Juan's secretions. However, I did find glycerin and propylene glycol among other components." 0

"Lubricant?" Jiang He blurted out. 0

Hearing Jiang He's words made Xu Yiman's eyes light up. Most people would have no idea what these chemical components were used for, yet Jiang He knew—this gave Xu Yiman a sense of finding a kindred spirit. 0

Xu Yiman nodded. "That's right; these are basic components of lubricants. However, it doesn't necessarily mean it was a specially purchased lubricant; most condoms also contain such ingredients." 0

Jiang He slammed his hand on the table and said, "The deceased engaged in sexual activity before death but showed no signs of struggle. If it were a case of breaking and entering followed by murder, the scene wouldn't look like this. Based on the timeline, this occurred between ten and eleven o'clock when there were many people outside. In my experience, it's rare for criminals to choose midday for such acts. Considering all these points together, I am eighty percent confident that the murderer must have been someone familiar with He Hui Juan." 0

"What do you mean?" Wang Chao hesitated but glanced at Xu Yiman before continuing. 0

"You've seen everything as a forensic doctor," Xu Yiman replied. 0

Wang Chao then continued, "Are you suggesting that He Hui Juan cheated on Li Weiyi?" 0

Jiang He said, "Given the current situation, that possibility stands at thirty percent." 0

"Is that probability so low?" Wang Chao asked. "What about the remaining seventy percent?" 0

Jiang He explained, "The remaining seventy percent doesn't represent another possibility; after eliminating those negligible probabilities, several scenarios remain." 0

"Ten percent," Jiang He stated. "It doesn't necessarily require a man to be present; putting a condom on any object could create such an effect. It's possible that He Hui Juan was killed after engaging in self-pleasure. Then there's twenty percent—He Hui Juan could have been coerced; if she didn't comply, she would be killed to silence her. Thus, she might not have struggled and only hoped for her assailant to leave quickly—but ultimately, she was still murdered." 0

Pausing briefly, Jiang He continued: "The remaining forty percent indicates that Li Weiyi returned home around noon. Based on my investigation into Li Weiyi's profession, he only needs to clock in at work and clock out at the end of his shift; his schedule is quite flexible. This means Li Weiyi had the opportunity to commit the crime." 0

"What about the motive?" Xu Yiman asked. "Why would he want to kill his wife and mother-in-law?" 0

Jiang He shook his head and said, "Based on my investigation of the scene, Wu Guifeng committed suicide. When analyzing, you need to separate Wu Guifeng from the equation. Also, I never analyze what a person is thinking because I don't understand it, and I can't figure it out." 0

Jiang He looked around at everyone. "This world is a mix of rationality and emotion. I can only analyze general traits based on the information a person presents. For example, if someone is always working, we can say they are a workaholic. If someone often sneaks glances at girls' skirts, we might label them as a voyeur." 0

"But," Jiang He continued, "this is the extent of my analysis. I cannot know why someone is always working or why they are particularly fascinated by girls' underwear. These are stories from their inner world, and such matters are often impossible to analyze." 0

Jiang He spoke slowly, and from his tone, it was hard to tell what kind of feelings he was experiencing at that moment. "What people think in their hearts is something that can never be fully analyzed, and it is also what confuses us the most when solving cases. Therefore, we must eliminate the factor of human emotions to get as close to the truth as possible." 0

"Because people can deceive others, but the evidence left at the scene cannot lie," Jiang He concluded. 0

Wang Chao listened to Jiang He's words but held a different opinion. "Your view is incomplete. When I was still a student, I attended a lecture by an expert—what was his name? I can't quite remember. But he was someone who could see through people's thoughts; he was incredibly skilled. This expert was also a remarkable detective in his youth. I'm not targeting you, but I believe there are many who can read the traces left at a scene, yet few can truly see into someone's heart." 0

"Are there really such people?" Jiang He asked. 0

Wang Chao nodded repeatedly. "Of course! Just like you said, evidence is dead while people are alive. To be able to see through the complex and ever-changing inner world of a person and uncover their secrets at a glance—that's what makes a truly great detective." 0

At this point, Wang Chao sighed again. "It's just that such people are too far from us; I'll never reach that level in my lifetime. However, you have more talent than many others..." 0
