Wang Chao watched as the BMW disappeared into the distance and couldn't help but turn to Jiang He beside him. "Why are you still arguing with the driver?" 0

Jiang He noted down the car's license plate and asked Wang Chao, "Can we find out this driver's information?" 0

"You’re not planning on seeking revenge, are you?" Wang Chao looked at the serious expression on Jiang He’s face. "We won’t disclose anyone's information, no matter what you intend to do with it. We already know Feng Bin is the murderer, and the case is closed. Now, we should talk about your situation." 0

"My situation?" Jiang He already had an idea of what Wang Chao was going to ask. 0

Wang Chao patted Jiang He on the shoulder as they walked into the police station. "Right, stop playing dumb. You're not really a police officer, are you? What exactly are you doing here pretending to be one? You don’t think you can escape at the entrance of the police station, do you? I let you slip away last time; do you think you can vanish again?" 0

Jiang He glanced around his surroundings. In an instant, he came to a conclusion. His mind told him that the probability of escaping was only five percent; it was too low for him to even consider running. 0

Jiang He replied, "You can check my ID; I can prove I have no criminal record." 0

Wang Chao smiled slightly. "I’m not doubting that you have a criminal record; I just—" 0

At that moment, a detective stepped in front of them. 0

"Li Weiyi jumped off a building," the detective said. 0

"What?" Wang Chao could hardly believe his ears. 0

"Li Weiyi jumped off a building." 0

It was August 1st, ten o'clock at night. 0

A cyclist, a bystander on his way home, spotted someone lying on the ground from a distance. At first, he thought the person was just a drunkard who had passed out by the roadside. So, humming a tune, he rode his bike intending to avoid the drunk. However, as he passed by, he noticed blood on the ground, and in shock, he fell off his bike. After regaining his composure, he immediately called the police and an ambulance. 0

The nearby police station was the first to arrive at the scene. By the time the ambulance arrived, it was confirmed that the person was already dead. The area was cordoned off, and the body was left on the road awaiting the arrival of the criminal investigation team and the forensic doctor. At that moment, Forensic Doctor Xu Yiman was already en route, while the police station reported to the criminal investigation team. 0

"Li Weiyi is dead?" Wang Chao muttered to himself. He turned to Jiang He and said, "Let's go. It seems your matters will be delayed again." 0

Jiang He nodded. 0

The criminal investigation team rushed to the scene. As Wang Chao had expected, by the time they arrived, a crowd had gathered around, watching the body behind the police tape while cooling off from the heat. The area was packed with people, creating a noisy atmosphere. Fortunately, this road was relatively narrow with not many passersby, so the evidence at the scene remained largely intact. 0

Wang Chao couldn't help but reflect that Dragon City never lacked people; no matter where a murder occurred, there would always be crowds rushing to find out what happened. 0

After exchanging brief greetings, the criminal investigation team began their examination of the scene. 0

The body lay sprawled on the ground with its face turned to one side. From facial recognition, it was clear that this person was Li Weiyi, who had just left not long ago. After learning that the murderer was Feng Bin, Li Weiyi had been released on site and did not go to claim his body but left directly from the police station. 0

From Li Weiyi's departure until the bystander discovered his body, two hours had elapsed. 0

Jiang He observed Li Weiyi from different angles. Externally, Li Weiyi exhibited numerous bruises and fractures; there was also bleeding from his skull. His legs were twisted outward at an unnatural sixty-degree angle. About ten meters away from the scene, bloodstains were evident—mostly splattered with elongated edges. 0

Li Weiyi's clothing was torn at chest level, exposing his bare torso below that point. His belt had snapped, and his pant legs were rolled up. One shoe had come off his right foot and lay six meters away on an open patch of ground. Next to Li Weiyi's body lay a cellphone that had shattered into four pieces; however, it appeared that the SIM card might still be functional. 0

Jiang He examined Li Weiyi's face closely. There were large bruises on his left cheek; blood covered his nose, eyes, ears, and mouth. At this moment, blood no longer flowed outward; some of it on his face had already congealed. Although he could still be recognized, he was severely mangled. 0

These were all the traces discovered at the scene so far. 0

"Make way, make way!" A familiar voice came from outside the crowd; it was Xu Yiman. 0

Xu Yiman entered the scene, facing Li Weiyi. She said, "Li Weiyi? Did you let him get away?" 0

Wang Chao shook his head and replied, "It's a long story. Li Weiyi is not the murderer; the real murderer is someone else. You should check on Li Weiyi first. We'll take the body back for an autopsy later." 0

Xu Yiman took a quick glance and said, "As a forensic doctor, although my experience isn't long, I've seen many cases like this. The injuries are consistent with a fall from a height—multiple blunt force traumas and several fractures. The edges of the clothing are rolled up due to the force of impact, and the belt is torn." 0

As she put on her gloves, Xu Yiman continued, "I need to emphasize that due to the impact, clothing often gets disheveled in falls from heights. Just like now, Li Weiyi's belt is torn, his shirt is rolled up, and his shoes have come off. In some extreme cases, even pants can fall down. Because of this, when people see a female corpse from a high fall, they often think she was violated in life, but that's not necessarily true. Many of these people spread rumors irresponsibly and believe hearsay without evidence." 0

The onlookers erupted into murmurs of "So that's how it is." 0

Xu Yiman squatted down and gently lifted Li Weiyi's head with her gloved hands for a closer examination. She stated, "One sign of high fall injuries is that external injuries appear minor compared to internal ones. If his cranium hadn't been shattered, there would be less blood at the scene. But pay attention to his mouth and nose; blood is flowing from those areas, which clearly indicates internal bleeding. At this moment, we can't even imagine what kind of damage has occurred inside him." 0

"It can basically be confirmed as a high fall," Xu Yiman observed the body slowly and added, "but we can't be certain yet. An autopsy is necessary to determine if there are any other injuries caused by different factors. Can a few of you help me transport the body to the morgue?" 0

With that, Xu Yiman sighed, "Such a good person, gone too soon." 0

Several police officers nearby nodded in agreement. One officer said, "Since we know his name now, should we notify his family?" 0

Wang Chao looked at the officer and sighed again, "There's no one left to notify; he was the last one in that family." 0

Wang Chao glanced at Jiang He beside him. Jiang He was looking up at something above them. Following Jiang He's gaze upward revealed a twelve-story residential building. 0

Jiang He said, "This building has twelve floors; the chance of surviving a jump from the twelfth floor is five percent. Let's go take a look. This street is outside the residential compound's wall; if he jumped from the twelfth floor, it's most likely from that building across from us—Unit Four." 0

"That's right," Wang Chao said. "But it doesn't necessarily mean they jumped from the top floor, does it?" 0

Jiang He shook his head and replied, "This building has an elevator. From my summary of the cases, about eighty percent of suicides occur from the top floor, and ninety percent from floors six and above. The remaining floors above six have similar proportions, depending on which floor the victim lived on." 0

"But," Jiang He continued, "this isn't Li Weiyi's home, so starting our investigation from the top floor is highly likely." 0

Xu Yiman and several other detectives took the body to the morgue, while the rest of the team stayed nearby to take photographs and search for fingerprints and other evidence. Wang Chao and Jiang He took a few detectives with them and rode the elevator to the twelfth floor of Unit Four. 0

In the elevator, Jiang He said, "There are cameras in the elevator; send someone to the property management." 0

Wang Chao glanced at Jiang He beside him, wondering how he had suddenly become the leader of the detective team. 0

Upon reaching the twelfth floor, they found that the door leading to the rooftop was in a fire escape. They examined the door leading to the roof; it was unlocked. Wang Chao explained that this was to ensure that people on the top floor could escape in case of a fire, allowing them to seek refuge on the roof. 0

Just as Wang Chao was about to step outside, Jiang He stopped him. "Don't move; there might be footprints on the ground." 0

Wang Chao took out his phone and turned on the flashlight to shine it on the floor. 0

Both of them looked down; due to a lack of foot traffic over time, there was quite a bit of dust accumulated on the rooftop. They noticed a set of footprints leading away from the door but none returning. 0

"The pattern matches Li Weiyi's shoes," Jiang He stated firmly. 0

"Are you sure?" Wang Chao asked. 0

"Absolutely." 0

Jiang He walked forward, followed closely by Wang Chao. 0

Following the footprints, they arrived at the edge of the rooftop. The railing stood about one and a half meters high, with narrow gaps between the bars, seemingly designed to prevent children from accidentally falling. At the edge of the floor, Jiang He and Wang Chao also spotted the footprints. 0

The footprints were neatly aligned, showing no signs of disorder. This indicated that the person who jumped had not paced back and forth at the edge but had simply leaped off. There were marks on the railing where hands had gripped it, suggesting it was a human hand. 0

Jiang He looked down; the night was too dark to see anything beyond a small patch illuminated by a streetlight. 0

Wang Chao glanced at Jiang He and asked, "What do you think?" 0

After a moment of silence, Jiang He replied, "Based on the evidence at the scene, I have an eighty percent probability that this was a suicide. If the surveillance footage can provide some information, that could increase it to ninety percent." 0

Wang Chao leaned over to take a look as well. "I also believe it was a suicide." 0

Jiang He shrugged his shoulders. "But why would he want to commit suicide?" 0
