"Why are you still ringing the doorbell?" Hannah, already dressed, said to Summit beside her, "Go check what's going on." 0

Summit looked at Hannah, a hint of worry in his voice as he asked, "What if the police find out that you hired He Hui Juan to seduce Feng Bin? What will we do then?" 0

As Hannah walked toward the door, she cursed, "Look at those muscles of yours. What are you afraid of? Even if they find out I hired He Hui Juan to seduce Feng Bin, I didn't make Feng Bin kill anyone. He killed someone himself. Who knows how the others died? It has nothing to do with me!" 0

Fuming, Hannah reached the door and opened it with an annoyed expression. 0

Wang Chao entered the room with several detectives. 0

Wang Chao glanced around and said, "We suspect that He Hui Juan was hired by you. We questioned Feng Bin, and he admitted to spending quite a bit of money on He Hui Juan, but he never actually paid her. Feng Bin believes that He Hui Juan is sincere towards him and not just after his money." 0

"Although those two payments came from outside sources, if we follow this lead, we should be able to find out who made those payments." Wang Chao looked at Hannah and Summit. "So we need both of you to come with us and assist in our investigation." 0

At this point, Summit suddenly raised his voice, "This has nothing to do with me! It was Hannah who wanted to hire He Hui Juan. I had no part in any of this. She wanted to divorce Feng Bin and didn't want to give him a single cent of his assets." 0

"Hannah," Summit continued disdainfully as he distanced himself from her, "You should take a good look at yourself. You're forty years old; I'm just in my twenties. If it weren't for your money, do you think I'd be with you? This is all your personal grudge; it has nothing to do with me. I'm leaving." 0

"Even so, you still have to come back with us," Wang Chao said, looking at Summit. "You won't be able to leave until we've cleared everything up. If this case is related to you later on, we'll see what the court decides. Our job is just to gather evidence and apprehend suspects; the rest isn't up to us. Let's go." 0

"Oh right," Wang Chao slapped his forehead. "Jiang He! Jiang He is the key!" 0

But where could Jiang He be now? 0

Jiang He walked down the street, unconcerned about what would happen to Hannah in the end. Deep down, he believed there was an eighty percent chance that Hannah would be out in no time in today's society. 0

Jiang He only cared about uncovering the truth, but after finally obtaining the truth he sought, he felt a sense of loneliness wash over him. 0

Yet there were still many things Jiang He did not understand. 0

Some couples appear to be very loving on the surface, yet behind closed doors, they engage in affairs and seek pleasure elsewhere. Others may seem completely at odds, but in critical moments, they quietly do a lot for each other. 0

Jiang He truly does not understand why these couples put each other through such turmoil. If there is no love, then divorce; if there is love, then be open about it. Why must everything be a guessing game? 0

The human heart is indeed a complex thing, and Jiang He is also puzzled by several questions: Why did Wu Guifeng commit suicide? Why does Li Weiyi consider himself a murderer? Why did Feng Bin ultimately save himself? And why did Li Weiyi choose to take his own life? 0

It seems that, like Feng Bin said, some questions simply have no answers. 0

Just as Jiang He was about to remove the SIM card, a call came through to Li Weiyi's phone. 0

"Hello," Jiang He answered. 0

"Hello, this is Ruili Flower Shop," came a sweet voice from the other end. "May I speak with Mr. Li Weiyi?" 0

Without hesitation, Jiang He lied, as he thought it was quite a common thing to do. "This is Li Weiyi. What can I do for you?" 0

The voice continued, "You previously purchased a bouquet of roses from our shop, and when you left, you accidentally left behind a ring. We just found it today in the corner of the cabinet. Fortunately, we had your phone number; otherwise, we would have had no way to contact you." 0

Jiang He recalled five days ago when he went to recreate the scene and saw a cleaner tidying up. He remembered seeing a cleaner pull a bouquet of roses out of the trash can, which was labeled with Ruili Flower Shop. Jiang He also remembered from the surveillance footage that Li Weiyi had no roses in his hands. 0

So everyone had been mistaken; it wasn't that Li Weiyi had arrived at the scene but rather that he had just left. Based on the timeline, this would have been around the time Feng Bin was fleeing the scene. Thus, Jiang He believed there was a fifty percent chance that Li Weiyi almost saw the murderer. 0

If Li Weiyi had gone home, He Huijuan might not have died. However, after thinking for a moment, Li Weiyi chose to throw that bouquet of roses into the trash and left without looking back. 0

Suddenly, Jiang He recalled the conversation between those two cleaners: 0

"You have quite an elegant taste! My wife would definitely not want them; she always complains that I’m not serious and just mess around with these flower arrangements. Rather than getting scolded by her, I might as well not give her anything." 0

"You know, women are creatures of contradiction. Even if they seem to scold you on the surface for things like this, deep down they care about you." 0

Jiang He felt a mix of understanding and confusion. 0

Love truly was a boring affair. 0

"This is love," he mused. 0

After a while, a file regarding the case was placed on the table. 0

The director of the Longcheng City Public Security Bureau set the file aside, his gaze fixed on the elderly man across from him, and he couldn't help but sigh. 0

The elderly man, in his sixties, wore a dark robe. His hair was graying at the temples, yet his eyes sparkled with vitality, exuding an air of calmness unique to his age. He picked up a Zisha teapot and poured a cup of tea for the Police Chief, then filled his own cup and began to savor it slowly. 0

The Police Chief raised his cup, took a sip, and then spoke again. "Are you really planning to live a life of leisure from now on? Are you going to settle abroad?" 0

The old man set down his cup and smiled slightly. "Yes, I've been retired for five or six years now. Occasionally, I teach classes at the university. This world ultimately belongs to the young; we old folks should just enjoy our peace." 0

The Police Chief clicked his tongue twice and picked up the file again. "Take a look at this case; it's quite interesting—the one that Wang Chao from the Substation solved. However, young man, there are some aspects I don't quite understand." 0

The old man took the file and read it for about five minutes. 0

Afterward, he gently set down the file. "Wu Guifeng believes her son committed murder, so she took her own life to protect him; this stems from maternal love. Li Weiyi claims responsibility for being the murderer out of pride. He is looked down upon wherever he goes; he'd rather be seen as a killer than as a man who has been cuckolded." 0

"As for why Feng Bin chose to save this person, what kind of person do you think would be a murderer?" The old man looked at the Police Chief. 0

The Chief fell silent for a moment before shaking his head. "To suddenly ask me such a question is indeed difficult. A murderer is probably someone evil." 0

"What constitutes an evil person?" The old man pressed further. 0

This time, the Chief seemed at a loss for words. "Old Shao, you're asking me a philosophical question here. If I were to answer seriously, it might take all night." 0

Old Shao chuckled lightly and filled the director's cup with tea. "If we set aside those who are antisocial and inhumane, most murderers in this world are ordinary people. These individuals, like us, drink water and eat meals, and they complain about life just like we do. In the morning, they might donate a million to the Hope Project, potentially saving a drowning child, but by nightfall, they could commit murder." 0

Looking at the director seriously, Old Shao continued, "With a good thought, they are good people; with a bad thought, they become bad people. So, they can kill their mistress and also save a police officer. This person named Jiang He has decent reasoning and observational skills, but according to the report, he is not a police officer. Do you know anything about him?" 0

The director shook his head. "I know as much as you do, Old Shao. However, the Substation is investigating it; it shouldn't take long to find out more. Are you interested in this person?" 0

Old Shao shook his head. 0

A smile appeared on the director's face. "Old Shao, I've spent quite some time with you now; I can see that whenever there's a gifted child, you hope to bring them into our system. Wasn't Wu Meng the same? It's just a pity..." 0

Upon hearing that name, Old Shao sighed. "Let's not dwell on that; it's all in the past now. I have my responsibilities in that matter too. But you're here today not just for tea, right? Since you've brought files with you, there must be something you want to discuss." 0

"Nothing escapes your keen eyes," the director said, pointing to the file. "What I have here is related to this case, but within it, there's a particular point that Wang Chao highlighted." 0

Old Shao nodded. "I noticed that too. To be precise, it was Jiang He who discovered that before Li Weiyi's suicide, he had a phone call lasting forty-two seconds with someone. That's what you're after, isn't it?" 0

"Exactly," the director confirmed with a nod. "Don't you think there's something more to this person...?" 0

However, Old Shao did not rush to respond. After taking a sip of tea, he said, "You're not thinking that way at all; you're simply picking out a point at random because you don't want me to settle abroad..." 0
