"What does it mean?" Old Shao gestured for Yuan Jun to pull her up and asked.
Yuan Jun pulled at the Fat Lady with all her strength, but the Fat Lady seemed paralyzed on the ground, as if she were terrified. Sitting there, she said, "He has been delivering goods for four or five years without any issues. Why would he send me human Entrails?"
"Guan Deng," Old Shao turned to Guan Deng and said, "Check Li Dabiao's information."
Guan Deng nodded.
Xu Yiman and the others continued their work, and they had already detected that one of the Entrails belonged to a human Heart, but they still didn't know how many Entrails here belonged to humans.
Old Shao was very confused. Human Entrails had been found in Li Erdan's pot, and human Entrails had also been discovered in the Sponge Factory. What was going on with these Entrails? Who was the murderer?
The Sponge Factory was not far from the crematorium; it would take about half an hour to walk there.
Old Shao did not know what had happened. He instinctively looked at Jiang He, who was sitting in a chair with his eyes closed, seemingly lost in thought.
In fact, a map of the area near the crematorium appeared in Jiang He's mind. When he had previously looked at the distribution map of Dragon City Crematorium, he had already memorized the surrounding buildings.
The crematorium had enclosed a piece of land; aside from the main entrance, many sections of the wall were already damaged. Both adults and children could easily slip inside without much effort while avoiding Old Wei's gaze. Moreover, Old Wei did not have the awareness of a gatekeeper; he wouldn't care who entered the crematorium.
If that were the case, anyone who had carefully observed the terrain map of the crematorium or visited it in person could easily bypass Old Wei and hide a body in the funeral home.
To the north of the crematorium, it took about half an hour on foot to reach the Sponge Factory. Since the murderer had hollowed out the body's Entrails and filled it with sponge, they must frequently travel along the route between the crematorium and Sponge Factory. There was a road called Qingchun Road between them, which had few pedestrians and very little traffic.
Jiang He asked, "Does he always deliver goods via Qingchun Road?"
"Yes!" Upon hearing Jiang He's question, the Fat Lady hurriedly replied, "He comes here once a week to deliver goods, always taking Qingchun Road because it's less trafficked and has no surveillance. He can drive as fast as he wants without any issues."
Jiang He asked again, "Did he come to deliver goods in a truck the night before last?"
"No," the Fat Lady replied. "He drove a kind of van, one where the back seat is removed to fit large boxes. Usually, he comes around seven or eight to deliver because our cafeteria opens at six, and by seven or eight, we’re mostly closed. He always helps me with the deliveries while chatting about relationship issues. But last night, he came very late, and I felt he was a bit flustered; I didn't know what had happened."
"Flustered?" Old Shao inquired.
The Fat Lady nodded. "He delivered the goods after ten. By then, the workers in the factory were already asleep. I had called him several times before that, but he didn’t answer. I thought maybe he had something going on and wouldn’t be delivering, but then I got his call around ten saying he was on his way."
"And then?" Old Shao asked.
The Fat Lady shook her head. "When he arrived, he was different from usual. He used to call me 'Sweetie,' but this time he just brought the goods in without flirting with me. I noticed something was off and asked if his wife found out about us and if he was going to get a divorce."
It seemed that the Fat Lady was still flirting with a married man.
"Oh dear, you’re trying to seduce someone’s husband?" Aunt Zhao chimed in from the side. "Every time you see Li Dabiao, you bring him water and food. Looks like you have your eyes on him! You’ll get beaten up sooner or later!"
The Fat Lady gritted her teeth. "I’m not a mistress; you don’t even know what’s going on. Li Dabiao knows his wife has someone else outside. His wife is involved with someone else, and Li Dabiao can go find girls as long as he has the means."
"If it weren’t for their daughter, they would have divorced long ago!" the Fat Lady retorted. "We’re in a free relationship; we truly love each other. He often comes here to deliver goods, and I’m the most gentle woman in the world. Once our daughter grows up and understands her father’s struggles, he’ll divorce her and marry me!"
The Fat Lady spoke with such conviction and determination that it seemed she had genuinely developed feelings for Li Dabiao. However, rather than discussing whether Li Dabiao's feelings for her were real or not, it appeared that something indeed happened that night before last.
At that time, Zhu Liang had just been murdered; his entrails had been removed and later hidden in a funeral home. That same night, Li Erdan took some of those entrails home to prepare for consumption. Also that night, Li Dabiao appeared somewhat flustered when delivering the entrails.
Old Shao was dissatisfied with the Fat Lady's account and pressed for more details. "What exactly was different about Li Dabiao compared to before?"
The Fat Lady pondered for a moment before responding to Elder Shao, "I don’t know how to describe it; all I can say is that when he came that night, Li Dabiao was just focused on moving the goods for me. Usually, he’s quite humorous and tells me things I don’t understand, but that night he didn’t say anything at all. After finishing up, we would usually take a walk together; he’d hold my hand and kiss me, but that night there was none of that."
The Fat Lady's face turned increasingly red as she said, "Oh, it's just about love. Anyway, I asked him what was going on, but he seemed a bit evasive. In the end, he didn't say much and just awkwardly kissed me before leaving."
She then looked at Aunt Zhao and continued, "I don't know if she saw any of this last night, but I can assure you that I definitely didn't initiate anything. I have no idea how those people's entrails ended up here. Also, I don't know where Li Dabiao lives; I never asked."
Yuan Jun couldn't help but interject, "You've been in a relationship with him, and you haven't asked these basic questions?"
The Fat Lady replied, "No! A relationship is between the two of us; why should I ask about his family situation? Besides, I can earn money and buy my own house. I don't care about someone else's family background; all I know is that he treats me well. Before I met Li Dabiao, no man had ever treated me this nicely."
Tears welled up in her eyes as she continued, "Even though Li Dabiao has a big belly, even though he's bald, even though he often doesn't brush his teeth, even though he smells bad, even though his face is covered in acne, and even though he tells terrible jokes, no man has ever wanted to marry me before."
"I believe that Li Dabiao is definitely not a bad person! I don't know how those entrails got mixed in; it must not have been intentional! Officer, you can investigate this thoroughly; we mustn't let a bad person go free, but we also can't wrong an innocent one."
Finally, the Fat Lady stood up from the ground, gripping Yuan Jun's hand tightly. Her grip was surprisingly strong; if it were anyone else, they would have surely felt their hand crushed.
Yuan Jun pulled his hand away and said, "Don't worry; we won't arrest good people, but we will not be lenient with bad ones either. Let me ask you this: after all this time, you still don't know where Li Dabiao lives? You must know where he gets the meat from and where he sells it to you?"
"I do!" The Fat Lady nodded quickly. "I know it's from the Dragon City Meat Processing Plant. He does wholesale and buys and sells meat. There's a guy named Brother Wang who supplies meat year-round; Li Dabiao gets some entrails from him to sell to various cafeterias. Although it seems like there are many people eating at our cafeterias, it's actually just a trade; big suppliers don't mind dealing with us small businesses."
"Good." Old Shao finally received some useful information.
Meanwhile, Xu Yiman had finished dissecting all the entrails.
She stood up and sighed deeply. "Everything has been dissected. Among all these entrails, we found a human heart, a liver, a spleen, a pancreas, and so on. Roughly estimated, aside from the stomach and gallbladder, almost all of a person's organs are here."
Old Shao frowned and asked, "No duplicates? Like two hearts or anything?"
"No duplicates," Xu Yiman confirmed with a nod.
"Is it a person's organ?" Old Shao asked again.
Xu Yiman shook her head. "We'll know after we go back and test it. Right now, we don't know."
Jiang He stood up and said, "Qingchun Road. We need to check out Qingchun Road."
Old Shao nodded and said to Director Wang, "Director Wang, I'll leave the matters at the factory to you. Until the case is fully investigated, everyone at the factory is a suspect. If anyone wants to leave Dragon City, they must get permission from the police. If someone requests leave, inform us; there will be officers coming here shortly to collect the files."
Director Wang nodded in agreement.
Old Shao continued, "The Fat Lady will return to the station with us to give her statement. The rest of you can leave for now; we’ll head to Qingchun Road first."
The group left the cafeteria, avoiding the vomit that lay scattered like bombs.
Old Shao turned to Jiang He and asked, "What have you discovered?"
Jiang He shook his head. "We need to take a look to find out. Qingchun Road is a route connecting the crematorium and the Sponge Factory. There are no surveillance cameras or streetlights along the way. Because of the crematorium, very few people pass through here, except for those who don't want their actions discovered."
