Jiang He and the others looked at a bottle in Xu Yiman's hand, the reagent inside had turned a vibrant blue. Xu Yiman examined the bottle and said, "Based on the traces at the scene, this is indeed blood. If we had come at night and used Rumino for testing, you would have been able to see the bloodstains on the ground directly." 0

"However, it can be confirmed," Xu Yiman continued, glancing at the ground covered in Loess. "There are definitely bloodstains here, and they have been extensively cleaned by the murderer using a large amount of Loess. Currently, the blood has almost been diluted by this Loess; unless someone has a keen sense of smell like Jiang He, most people wouldn't notice it at all." 0

Old Shao nodded in agreement. "That's right. This path is rarely traveled. If there were a few continuous autumn rains, all traces of this soil would be washed away completely. Then no one would casually come here to conduct Rumino chemical reactions. Even if Rumino could detect a drop of blood in a large tank of water, without any clues, the police wouldn't bother to conduct tests here." 0

Xu Yiman looked around and said, "There's no need to block off this area. The Rumino chemical reaction is very sensitive; even after heavy rain, it can still clearly detect blood, but it needs to be operated in a dim environment." 0

"We'll come back at night," Jiang He said as he continued to scan the surroundings. "Li Dabiao must have disposed of the body; it's likely buried somewhere in this field. But this area is too vast; it will take a long time to find the body. So it's better to use Rumino's chemical reaction at night and follow the blood trail; we might just find where the body is buried." 0

Everyone nodded in agreement. 0

"Let's check out the meat processing plant," Shao the Elder suggested. "We need to find out Li Dabiao's whereabouts." 0

They left the field behind without concern since everyone knew that this place was mostly deserted. Even if Li Dabiao had hidden the body in the field, they would eventually find it. 0

Old Shao sat in the car pondering over the case. He felt that there was something absurd about it all—what was the connection between Li Erdan and Li Dabiao? Why did Zhu Liang end up dead? Who was responsible for Zhu Liang's murder? Was there some sort of link among all these events? 0

While Old Shao was deep in thought, they arrived at the meat processing plant. 0

Captain Liu had previously contacted Brother Wang, who sold meat based on a lead from Fat Lady. At that moment, Brother Wang was already waiting at the entrance of the plant. 0

Old Shao skipped any pleasantries and directly asked Brother Wang about Li Dabiao's situation, which led him to learn more about Li Dabiao's specifics. 0

Like Fat Lady, Li Dabiao was an individual who procured Entrails from the meat processing plant. The plant had contracts with large pig farms in the city and purchased a significant number of live pigs each year for deep processing, turning them into familiar meat products. Naturally, a large number of live pigs would produce a substantial amount of Entrails; those that were of better quality were processed into Entrails food products like pig liver and pig intestines. 0

However, many types of Entrails did not sell well, such as pig stomachs and pig bladders—most people didn't eat these kinds of Entrails. Processing and selling these often didn't even cover costs, so most excess Entrails were taken elsewhere for disposal. 0

Due to this relationship, second-hand dealers like Li Dabiao selected some fresh and edible Entrails from those designated for destruction to sell to various cafeterias. For example, Fat Lady's specialty Internal Offal Rice was made from these pig offal and miscellaneous parts. 0

Brother Wang was responsible for disposing of Entrails; after Li Dabiao and other second-hand dealers purchased them, any remaining Entrails were collected by Brother Wang for disposal. 0

Li Dabiao came to purchase supplies about once a week, filling his modified van to capacity each time so that it couldn't accommodate passengers due to the overwhelming stench of Entrails inside. Over a year, Li Dabiao could earn around fifty or sixty thousand yuan—not wealthy but enough for a comfortable living. 0

Although this job always required facing greasy entrails in a stinky environment, it wasn't too exhausting since deliveries came once a week and were usually sold out by around four or five. Plus, there were two breaks during the day. 0

Three mornings ago, Li Dabiao had come here for a delivery, filling up a whole van with entrails. According to Brother Wang, Li Dabiao seemed quite happy when he came to pick up the goods. 0

Brother Wang dialed Li Dabiao's mobile number, but it was turned off. Fortunately, since Li Dabiao needed to earn a living from Brother Wang, he had once invited Brother Wang over for dinner. Brother Wang shared Li Dabiao's home address with the team, and as they left, he expressed disbelief that Li Dabiao could be involved in anything suspicious. 0

Brother Wang said, "Don't let his scruffy appearance fool you. Li Dabiao is quite meticulous. While others just pile up the entrails to take away, he’s different. He has several large baskets in his truck, sorting different types of entrails into separate baskets, each carefully packed by the dozens of pounds for different customers. He’s very organized." 0

"That's why Li Dabiao seems so relaxed," Brother Wang praised. "He does the work upfront while others leave it until later. That shows a difference in character." 0

Old Shao nodded, thinking that Li Dabiao indeed seemed quite attentive. Generally, when someone gets into an accident, they either call the police or flee without a trace. Yet here was Li Dabiao, still concerned enough to deliver entrails to Fat Lady. But if it was just an accident, why was it connected to the entrails? 0

This left Old Shao puzzled. 0

However, since they had obtained Li Dabiao's home address, the group didn't linger and said their goodbyes to Brother Wang before heading to Li Dabiao's house. 0

A middle-aged woman in her forties opened the door and looked at the group standing outside. "Who are you? What do you want?" 0

"Police," Yuan Jun replied. "We're here to investigate." 0

"Investigate?" The middle-aged woman sized them up and said, "We're law-abiding citizens; what do you officials want with us?" 0

Her words felt awkward to the group. 0

"Is your husband named Li Dabiao?" Old Shao asked. 0

"Oh? Is Li Dabiao dead?" The woman raised her eyes at Old Shao's question. 0

"Why do you say that?" Old Shao inquired. 0

The woman sneered and slowly replied, "He hasn't come home for three days. Usually, he's home by ten o'clock sharp. If he wasn’t dead somewhere else, how could he not return?" 0

The meaning behind the woman's words seemed to suggest that she hoped Li Dabiao would die outside. Moreover, her posture leaning against the door indicated that she had no intention of letting anyone in. 0

Jiang He observed this woman. Although she was in her forties, her face was heavily made up, with her makeup and neck being almost different colors. A strong scent of cosmetics filled the air, thick enough to make one want to cough. She wore a flashy tight-fitting outfit and high heels, resembling the attire of someone in their twenties. 0

Yuan Jun pushed the door open and said, "We are police officers conducting an investigation. We have some questions for you and hope you can cooperate." 0

The woman seemed taken aback by Yuan Jun's bold entrance and hurriedly stepped in front of him. However, how could she stop Yuan Jun? He had already entered, and the others followed him inside. 0

At that moment, a man's voice came from the bedroom: "Xiao Fang, who are you? Making all that noise at the door in the afternoon." 0

A man emerged from the bedroom wearing only his pants, looking as if he had just woken up. 0

"Who are you?" Yuan Jun asked. 0

Seeing a room full of men and women of all ages, the man was clearly stunned. After a moment, he stammered, "W-who are you?" 0

"Police!" Yuan Jun replied. 0

Upon hearing they were police officers, the man attempted to run out the door, seemingly guilty. Yuan Jun stood at the front, one hand reaching out as if to push past him and escape. 0

But he was no match for Yuan Jun. With a swift movement, Yuan Jun sidestepped and kicked the man in the stomach. The man winced in pain, his legs giving way as he fell to the ground, clutching his belly and rolling around. 0

The woman hurried over to the man's side, kneeling beside him to support him while shouting at Yuan Jun, "How can you hit someone like that?" 0

"Why were you trying to run if you had nothing to hide?" Yuan Jun retorted. 0

"The police are hitting people!" the woman yelled. 0

Jiang He approached and looked at the man on the floor. He appeared to be around 1.78 meters tall with some abdominal and chest muscles. On his back was a tattoo of Erlong playing with pearls, with the dragon's head extending down from his shoulder to glare menacingly at his chest. His body bore several healed scars, mostly long and about four to five centimeters each. 0

All sorts of professions flashed through Jiang He's mind before he finally confirmed this man's identity. 0

"Are you a thug?" Jiang He asked, looking at the man lying on the ground. 0

Yuan Jun chuckled and said, "What thug? If you have the guts, challenge a police officer one-on-one." 0

Old Shao sat down on the sofa, glancing at the man and the woman on the floor. "First, who are you? Second, why did you run?" 0

The man leaned against the wall and coughed a few times. 0

Xiao Fang stared at everyone and said, "What gives you the right to come to my home?" 0

Shao the Elder replied, "Your husband is suspected of being involved in a homicide case. To investigate the situation, we may need to use necessary means. So let me ask you, is this person on the ground Li Dabiao?" 0

The woman looked at Old Shao, who was smiling at her. After a moment, she realized that this cheerful old man was definitely not someone to be trifled with. 0

"He is not Li Dabiao," the woman said. "This is my sworn brother." 0

"Sworn brother?" Old Shao's voice rose in surprise. 0

The woman paused for a moment before saying, "He is my lover, named Zhai Qiang. He is thirty years old, unemployed, and usually helps people collect debts to make a living." 0
