Thinking it might be a distant relative he wasn't familiar with, the son skeptically opened the door wider. He was taken aback to see that the man was drenched, as if he had just been pulled from a river. The man immediately asked, "Can't you even recognize your father's voice anymore?"
Without waiting for a response, he strode into the house and approached his mother, who was lying on the bed, exclaiming, "Wife, why are you sick?"
But this man was a complete stranger; he bore no resemblance to his father, who had been frail and ill for many years. His eyes were hollow and devoid of life.

He hurriedly silenced the cries of his wife and child, uttering a strange phrase, urging them to remember it. Just as he finished speaking, his body suddenly lurched backward, and he instantly lost all vitality.
The mother and son were terrified by this turn of events when two men stepped forward to drag the man lying on the ground away.
Another person explained the situation to Li Zhongping's wife. He said that his friend had also passed away that afternoon, around 4 PM. After drinking with a friend from the village, he had gone fishing in the river and accidentally drowned.
