I stepped out of the doctor's office, contemplating the possibility of hospitalization for my pregnancy, when suddenly I received a call from Ma Hao's Mother. Her tone was sharp: "Teacher Lin, why didn't you tell us you were pregnant?" 0

Confused, I replied, "How did you know I was pregnant?" 0

"I happen to have a friend working at the hospital who saw your examination report," she said. 0

"Is there a problem?" I asked. Since I was teaching the Graduating Class, I had no intention of informing my students about my pregnancy for fear it might affect their upcoming college entrance exams. However, I thought it wouldn't hurt if the parents knew; surely they would understand. 0

To my surprise, Ma Hao's Mother questioned me loudly: "How could you hide such a big thing from us?" 0

I was even more puzzled. "Why should I tell you?" 0

She was being unreasonable. I wasn't some unmarried girl; even if I were truly pregnant, it wasn't her place to dictate my actions. 0

Her voice turned sharp again: "Being pregnant will affect your work, do you know that?" 0

I paused for a moment before responding, "I won't let my pregnancy interfere with my work..." 0

She interrupted me, "You better not!" 0

With that, she hung up the phone. The news of my pregnancy had come to light because Ma Hao had climbed over a wall during gym class and I caught him. In the struggle, he pushed me down, and that was when I discovered my condition. I had thought Ma Hao's Mother was angry out of concern. 0

It seems that things are not as they appear. 0

When I returned to school and just entered the office, the principal called me in. She wore a serious expression. 0

"Xiao Lin, you know that Ma Hao's mother just called the school, saying that you are pregnant and might not be able to continue as the homeroom teacher. She suggested we find another teacher." 0

I frowned. "That's not true. My pregnancy won't affect my work." 0

The principal patted my shoulder. "I know, and I've already explained that to her. However, it's best if you communicate with the parents privately to avoid any misunderstandings." 0

I nodded and took out my phone to call Ma Hao's mother. This was something that needed to be clarified. After all, I am the homeroom teacher, and if the parents have issues with me, it could impact my job. 0

However, before I could make the call, Ma Hao's mother reached out to me again. She sent a message on WeChat: 0

"Teacher Lin, you should just go ahead and terminate the pregnancy." 0

I was so furious that my hands trembled. She continued to send messages: 0

"Are you really going to take the Graduating Class? You're pregnant, how can you still take the Graduating Class?" 0

"I'm saying this for your own good. If you terminate the pregnancy, you can continue being the homeroom teacher." 0

"Coincidentally, I have a relative who is the Obstetrics Director. I can help you skip the line. Now that the Two-Child Policy has been relaxed, many people are having a second child, and hospitals are all booked up." 0

I trembled with anger. 0

How could she say such a thing? 0

This is a life, not something she can just decide on. 0

Moreover, she is a parent of my student. My child is in my womb; what does it have to do with her? 0

Who does she think she is to tell me to terminate my child? 0

Fuming, I immediately blocked and deleted her on WeChat. 0

Such a person is simply unreasonable! 0

After returning home that evening, I told Gao Xiang about Ma Hao's mother. 0

Gao Xiang was also very angry after hearing it. 0

"What does she mean by that?" 0

"Does she think you're unworthy to teach her son because of his grades?" 0

"You should resign tomorrow; we shouldn't teach anymore!" 0

I quickly tried to calm him down: 0

"Don't be angry. I think she's just too worried about her son's education." 0

"That's why it's said that Ma Hao has made a lot of progress in his grades recently..." 0
