"What do you mean by that, Ma Hao's Mother?" 0

She let out a cold laugh. "You know very well that Ma Hao's Dad's Ex-Wife has a son who excels academically and has always overshadowed Ma Hao. Yet, you refuse to teach Ma Hao properly, preventing him from surpassing that child. It's clear you're being irresponsible!" 0

"Now I'm asking you to resign for your own good, and you still block me!" 0

"If I had known you were so ungrateful, I shouldn't have let Ma Hao join this class in the first place!" 0

I was taken aback. So this was the real reason behind Ma Hao's Mother's disdain for me. She had always been bothered by Ma Hao's Dad's Ex-Wife's son. She wanted Ma Hao to be better than that child, to replace him in Ma Hao's Dad's heart. That way, she could finally become the true Mrs. Ma. 0

But didn't she realize that her actions would only make Ma Hao resent her more? I looked at Ma Hao's Mother and couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy. She was indeed a successful businesswoman, but in her family life, she was a complete failure. 0

Just as I was about to speak, Ma Hao suddenly stood up and shouted at his mother, "Mom, have you had enough of this?" 0

"I've told you before, I don't like that family..." 0

"I don't like Dad either, and I like it even less when you treat me as a tool for your competition for his affection!" 0

"I'm a person, not your pet. Can you at least respect me?" 0

Ma Hao's Mother was taken aback for a moment, her eyes reddening. 0

"Ma Hao, how can you speak to me like that? I'm your mother!" 0

"I'm doing all of this for your own good." 0

Ma Hao scoffed. "For my good? It seems more like it's for your own benefit." 0

"You want Dad to like you, you want Grandma to accept you, so you want me to surpass my brother. Only then can you truly be part of the the Ma Family." 0

"But have you ever asked for my opinion? I don't want to be part of the the Ma Family!" 0

"I want to drop out of school!" 0

Ma Hao's Mother was stunned. She stared blankly at Ma Hao, unable to process what he had just said. 0

"Ma Hao, what... what did you say?" 0

"I said I want to drop out!" Ma Hao shouted. "I want to leave here, leave that home, leave Dad and Grandma. I don't want to be part of the the Ma Family anymore!" 0

Ma Hao's Mother widened her eyes in disbelief. I was also shocked by Ma Hao's words. I never expected him to say that. I wanted to speak up and persuade him, but when the words reached my lips, I found myself at a loss for what to say. 0

Just then, Ma Hao's mother suddenly grabbed the computer from the podium and hurled it at me. 0

"You shameless woman, it's all your fault that Ma Hao turned out this way! I'll kill you!" 0

I was startled and quickly dodged. Fortunately, the principal and security arrived just in time to drag Ma Hao's mother away. 0

"Teacher Lin, are you okay?" The principal looked at me with concern. 0

I shook my head. "I'm fine." 0

"I'll handle Ma Hao's mother; you should go home and rest," he said. 0

I nodded and didn't say anything more. I hadn't slept well for two consecutive days, and after the shock I just experienced, I really felt like I couldn't hold on any longer. 0

After the principal took Ma Hao's mother away, I let Ma Hao and the other students leave as well. Then, I returned to my office, packed my things, and prepared to go home. 0

But just as I stepped out of the office, everything went black, and I collapsed to the ground. Before closing my eyes, I instinctively covered my abdomen. 0

When I woke up, I found myself in a hospital room. As I opened my eyes, I saw Gao Xiang sitting by my bedside. 0

"Gao Xiang..." 0

I struggled to sit up and nervously asked, "The baby... is the baby okay?" 0
