"Alright." I agreed. 0

After hanging up the phone, I reopened that post. 0

Without a doubt, I knew it was written by Ma Hao's Mother. The things mentioned in the post were completely fabricated. It was clear that Ma Hao's Mother had initially wanted me to have an abortion, and after failing at that, she now aimed to get me fired. This woman... truly is a lunatic. 0

The post quickly went viral, even drawing widespread attention. Some questioned my professional ethics and demanded that the school dismiss me. Others dug up my personal information and hurled insults at me online. Of course, there were also many who stood up for me. 0

"Teacher Lin is a great teacher. She is dedicated and would never do such a thing!" 0

My private matters spread throughout the school. To be precise, they were smeared by Ma Hao's Mother. She claimed in her post that I was the mistress seducing someone else's husband. She also accused me of using my position to repeatedly harass her husband and that I was pregnant with his child. 0

"This is clearly revenge," Gao Xiang said angrily. "Why don't you take a few days off to avoid the storm?" 0

"I can't," I shook my head. Since the situation had already come to light, I couldn't run away from it. I opened the post again. There were quite a few comments below. 0

Some people scolded me for being shameless, taking advantage of my position as a teacher to act recklessly. Others claimed I was morally corrupt and unworthy of being a teacher. Yet, there were those who firmly believed I was wronged. 0

“Teacher Lin is a great person; she would never do such a thing!” 0
“I know this teacher; she taught me. There’s no way she could do something like that!” 0
“This post is clearly fabricated, an attempt to slander the teacher. Is there no humanity left?” 0

My phone rang. It was my colleagues calling. 0
“Teacher Lin, how are you holding up?” 0
“Are you okay?” 0
“That Ma Hao's Mother is currently outside the school with a banner, demanding your dismissal!” 0

I chuckled lightly. “I’m fine; you don’t need to worry.” 0
“The principal called me and told me to take leave for now, until this blows over.” 0
“But I don’t want to take leave.” 0

On the other end, my colleague asked in confusion, “Why not?” 0
“I didn’t do anything wrong. If I take leave, it would mean I’m admitting to it, wouldn’t it?” 0

There was silence from my colleague. 0
“Teacher Lin, what are you planning to do?” 0
I took a deep breath. “This matter will not end like this.” 0

I hung up the phone and called Gao Xiang again to discuss how to handle the situation. 0

"Call the police," Gao Xiang said. "Reporting it is the best solution." 0

"But..." I hesitated. "The post only has screenshots of chat records, and there are no photos or anything." 0

"What if all of this is true?" Gao Xiang was taken aback. "No way, right?" 0

"What if Ma Hao's mother is doing this on purpose?" I countered. "She might have fabricated these lies just to make me leave." 0

"That..." Gao Xiang was left speechless. 0

I thought for a moment and decided to call Ma Hao. The call connected quickly. 0

"Hello, Teacher Lin," Ma Hao's voice sounded very tired. 0

"Ma Hao, did you see the post your mom made?" I asked. 0

"Yes, I saw it," he replied. 0

"I'm sorry, Teacher Lin, I got you into trouble," Ma Hao's voice was filled with regret. "My mom confiscated my phone, so I had no way to contact you." 0

"She only gave it back to me after posting," he continued. "I wanted to explain everything to you, but..." 0

"But what?" I asked, puzzled. 0
