In the police car, Yan Junde asked me, "What exactly happened?" 0

I adjusted my breathing and replied, "You noticed earlier that Gao Shangde's hands are very delicate, almost not like a man's hands. That hammer wasn't used by him to kill; it was meant for others to hit him with. That's why his palms have no calluses. But there is someone who has a pair of man's hands!" 0

Yan Junde nodded, signaling me to continue. 0

I continued, "I always felt like I overlooked some detail, and now I finally remembered it. If a man can have a woman's hands, then why can't a woman have a man's hands? Among the people I know, there is a woman with man's hands!" 0

Yan Junde was startled and said, "Are you talking about Lichun? That female detective?" 0

"You’re too sensitive; it's not her. You wouldn't know this person because you've never met him!" I shook my finger and said, "At the beginning, we assumed that the killer must be a man. This was influenced by Xiao Xiao being violated after death. Although we know that the one who did it was that 'monster,' not the killer, from that moment on, our subconscious has already accepted that this killer is a man!" 0

"So we found five people who could provide information about Sister Qi and Megan, but none of them are the killer because the killer is actually a woman! And this person has already figured out our movements; she must be itching to kill!" I told Yan Junde, "Drive faster." 0

The sirens blared as we sped through the bustling streets like a whirlwind. Yan Junde was driving at top speed, and I silently thanked him for returning; otherwise, no one in the police department could match his driving skills. We raced from the city center to the live broadcast location. After getting out of the car, I put on my earpiece but heard nothing. 0

Panic surged within me—had Juan Juan already been harmed? I couldn't let myself think further and told Yan Junde, "We need to split up and find them before the killer acts!" 0

In the vast abandoned school with numerous buildings and even more classrooms, no one knew where they were. What should I do? My mind was in chaos, but my subconscious reminded me not to panic at this moment. If I were Mary, where would I go? Mary, Mary! 0

The boys' dormitory! Given Mary's personality, she would definitely go to the boys' dormitory! 0

With that thought in mind, I dashed toward the boys' dormitory building. During our previous stakeout, I had memorized all locations within this school. Just as I reached the bottom of the boys' dormitory building, I heard a scream followed by something crashing down—the sound came from Mary! 0

The source was on the sixth floor! I rushed into the boys' dormitory building and sprinted up to the sixth floor without regard for my safety. As soon as I burst into the hallway from the stairwell, I saw Juan Juan and Lichun peering into one of the dorm rooms. It seemed Mary was inside that room. Behind them, illuminated by moonlight streaming in, I spotted a figure clad in tight black clothing raising a large hammer as if to strike their heads. 0

"Stop!" I shouted immediately. 0

My voice echoed loudly in the silent abandoned school, startling everyone present. However, the killer was only momentarily surprised; soon enough, the hammer began its descent toward Juan Juan's head. I lunged forward instinctively but was still too far away to intervene effectively as that hammer was about to crush Juan Juan. 0

In that critical moment, I heard a gunshot ring out. The hammer veered off course and struck the door frame instead. Seizing my chance, I charged forward and tackled the killer to the ground just as Yan Junde rushed in beside me and kicked the hammer aside before pulling out handcuffs to restrain her. 0

At that moment, Mary also poked her head out, unsure of what had happened. Seeing that the three of us were safe, I slumped to the ground and let out a long sigh of relief. Mary exclaimed excitedly, "Brother Shao, you caught the Killer!" I smiled and replied, "Mary, what were you shouting just now? I thought you had fallen from upstairs." 0

Mary said, "It wasn't me who fell; it was my tablet! So unlucky!" 0

Unlucky? The tablet falling was actually perfectly timed; otherwise, Yan Junde and I wouldn't have found this place so quickly. I removed the mask from the Killer, and as I suspected, it was Chuxue—the woman with delicate features but calloused hands. 0

No one expected that this perverted Killer who had killed three people would turn out to be Chuxue. From the very beginning, I should have realized it. Chuxue had been paying attention to Sister Qi and was also the group leader of the chat group Megan had joined. Foolishly, I had even shared the news about our withdrawal with Chuxue, asking her to help promote the live broadcast. 0

Thus, Chuxue naturally knew about the police's actions. She hadn't shown her face for four consecutive days until today when I informed her about our withdrawal. She must have realized this was her best opportunity. Who could have guessed that the person who actively entered the police's line of sight would be the Killer? Both Detective Captain and I knew that Chuxue could obtain information about these two individuals, yet from the start, we never suspected her. 0

Such courage, such psychological resilience, such cunning tactics left us defenseless. Deep inside Chuxue resided a beast—cunning, calm, and bloodthirsty. Chuxue truly was a devil. Beneath her guise of kindness and her smiling facade lay a dark heart. 0

The sound of police sirens blared outside. I sighed and said, "The Captain has brought people here; let's subdue her." During this time, Chuxue didn't utter a word; she was completely different from her earlier demeanor with a faint smile. I suddenly found myself missing the first time I met Chuxue—the one with two dimples when she smiled—who would say she didn't think she was very pretty. 0

Perhaps this was the real Chuxue; the mask she wore while committing murder was merely her outermost layer. The smiling version of her was just a second layer of disguise. I suddenly recalled what the perverted professor had said: everyone wears a mask, and over time, that mask becomes part of oneself—impossible to remove. 0

When Detective Captain saw Chuxue for the first time, his expression mirrored my own surprise as he uttered what seemed to be a classic police line: "It’s you!" 0

Now we had both the person and evidence in hand—ironclad proof. No matter how much Chuxue tried to argue otherwise, it wouldn’t matter. But sitting in the interrogation room, Chuxue seemed to have no intention of defending herself at all. She slowly said, "Sister Qi and Xiao Xiao were killed by me; Megan was also killed by me. Initially, I didn’t want to kill anyone, but Sister Qi and Xiao Xiao were live streaming in that village—Old Huang Tree Village—I can never forget that night ten years ago; I can’t forget it. So I couldn’t help but kill them. I never knew killing could be so easy; it’s exactly like what they teach in books." 0

Upon hearing this, both Detective Captain and I realized there must be another story behind it. 0

Chuxue shrugged and continued, "On the night I killed Sister Qi and Xiao Xiao during their live stream, I already knew their plan in advance. I took a car to the town and walked to Dahuai Tree Village, hiding in a tree hollow. Wearing headphones, I listened to their live stream while feeling their footsteps getting closer until they finally arrived under Big Scholar Tree..." 0

At this point, an evil glint mixed with rage erupted in Chuxue's eyes: "I came out from the tree hollow and struck Xiao Xiao on the back of her head with one blow. Sister Qi heard the noise and screamed in fright; her tablet fell to the ground. I raised my hammer and struck her again; later on, I felt a bit scared..." 0

"You get scared too?" Detective Captain asked. 0

"Of course! At that moment, I wasn’t wearing a mask; I realized how close I was to being exposed in front of tens of thousands of viewers. So when it came time to kill the third person—Megan—I put on my mask. It’s quite funny; at that time they were playing Spirit Game." Chuxue said with a disdainful smile before continuing: "There were five of them—four standing at each corner with their eyes closed—when Megan called upon the demon, I emerged from another room wearing a demon mask." 0

"She seemed to think I was really a demon, and suddenly she screamed." Chuxue continued, "The four of them were in a panic. If only they could have remained calm, they would have seen that I was hiding in another room. All four of them ran away, and Megan was scared out of her wits. I just walked in boldly while she kept shouting 'DAEMON.' Where in the world is there a guardian spirit?" 0

"But there are demons in this world," I said, staring into Chuxue's eyes. 0

Chuxue snorted coldly and continued, "It's a pity I almost succeeded. You know how much I've wanted to kill a few cops, and you foolishly passed the information to me. It was just one step away." I clenched my fists and then said, "I never understood why you went through the trouble with the car in front of the abandoned hospital. Now I get it; you wanted to provoke the police. Even when you came to report it later, it was all meant to taunt them. You wanted to see just how incompetent we are, didn't you?" 0

"Haha!" Chuxue laughed. "So you admit it? The police in this world deserve to die; they are nothing but useless trash." 0

"What happened ten years ago? Why do you hate the police so much? Why did you stuff various things into the victims?" I asked. I realized that Chuxue's current mindset must be related to what she mentioned about ten years ago. What exactly happened in Dahuai Tree Village back then? 0

Hearing my question, Chuxue smiled lightly, her dimples showing faintly. She said, "I know that the Death Penalty is non-negotiable. Actually, keeping something bottled up for ten years is quite painful. But this matter, I will only tell you. I hope you won't tell anyone else. Can you do that?" 0

If a person's heart has died, what can they rely on to live? This could be considered a dying person's last request. I nodded and said, "Captain, cut off the surveillance; everyone leave." The Detective Captain looked at me, gritted his teeth, and said, "This isn't procedure, but I agree." 0

"Thank you," Chuxue nodded at me and then said, "Ten years ago, I was fifteen years old, and he was fourteen..." 0
