Director Wang asked, "I've been a police officer for so many years, and this is the first case like this I've encountered. So is he really the Killer?" He scratched the back of his head and then turned to Juan Juan, saying, "This must be a psychological disorder, right? Can it be treated?" 0

Juan Juan sighed and replied, "Chen Zhen didn't mention the process of Hypnosis or the guiding words in the documents left behind. In other words, Ma Hengdong's personality seems to be locked away in a very sophisticated Safe. We don't know the password or the steps to operate it. To treat him would require decades, if not longer, of attempts." 0

"Perhaps," Director Wang shook his head helplessly. 0

The case came to a close. On the day of the trial, Juan Juan wrote a lengthy document that explained Ma Hengdong's situation in an accessible manner. The true mastermind had died five years ago; Ma Hengdong was merely a tool. The verdict revealed that Ma Hengdong had mental issues and was sent to a psychiatric hospital. Unless something unexpected happened, he would spend the rest of his life there. 0

Twenty years ago, Ma Hengdong was indeed a Killer who committed unforgivable crimes. Two decades have passed, and we still do not know what Ma Hengdong truly thought during that time, whether he felt remorse or regretted his actions in the dead of night. But since Ma Hengdong has already faced punishment, we prefer to believe that he has repented. 0

Juan Juan asked me, "She saw herself as Fangfang—the real Fangfang—and felt she had to kill her." 0

I didn't understand the reasoning behind this nor did I know what Chen Zhen had instilled in Ma Hengdong over those years. However, I was clear that Chen Zhen would never want Ma Hengdong to kill Fangfang. Yet, fate is unpredictable; the false Fangfang ultimately ended up killing the real Fangfang. 0

I said to Juan Juan, "Do you remember the letter Fangfang left behind? In the end, she wanted to leave behind the name of the Killer. Perhaps through some clues, she realized that the Killer should be Ma Hengdong; that horizontal stroke is just the beginning of writing 'Ma.' But when she saw Ma Hengdong, Fangfang hesitated. She couldn't believe that Chen Zhen had turned Ma Hengdong into another version of herself. Those three large exclamation marks might have reflected her heart." 0

Mary chimed in from the side, "Twenty years ago, Fangfang was still alive in that form, but twenty years later, she died like this. I wonder if Chen Zhen regrets her decision after seeing this outcome. It's truly unpredictable; this love-hate entanglement lasted over twenty years and finally came to a halt at this moment." 0

I deeply resonated with this and said, "Fangfang has let go of her hatred, but that hatred has once again extended onto her." 0

Three days later, we were set to leave Nangyun City. A few days prior, we buried Fangfang and Chen Zhen together and erected a tombstone for Fangfang. These two lovesick souls were finally reunited. From atop the Mountain, looking out at the distant wooden cabin gave an incredibly warm feeling; it had once been a paradise for two people, but from now on, no one would ever clean it again. 0

It was Mary's first time here; she said, "Look at that place; it's surrounded by stones shaped like a heart—so romantic! This really feels like a paradise on earth with spring breezes and flowers blooming everywhere." 0

I nodded and said, "The Wuling People fled to Peach Blossom Spring for refuge back then; they did not bring their hatred from war and loss into that paradise. But Chen Zhen brought hatred into this so-called Peach Blossom Spring—can it still be called Peach Blossom Spring if there's hatred within?" 0

Juan Juan submitted that document to the Medical Institute; if they could develop a system based on Chen Zhen's findings, perhaps it could save many people. This might also serve as our way of redeeming some of Chen Zhen's sins. 0

Little Grass's Grandfather cleaned up all those so-called insect poisons. While there may be such things as poisonous insects in this world, what Fangfang provided were merely harmless little Fried Insects. What Little Grass's Grandfather spent his life trying to study turned out to be a joke in itself. After Little Grass died, he seemed to age several decades in an instant. 0

"We're leaving tomorrow," Juan Juan told me. 0

I nodded and said, "Let's go take a look together." 0

Little Grass's grave is located behind the Mountain. Little Grass's Grandfather said this is the best place for feng shui, where Little Grass can be reborn into a good family. I haven't known Little Grass for long, but her lively youth and kindness seem to be deeply etched in my heart. Juan Juan said to me, "Let's head back first. If you have anything to say, just say it." 0

What could I possibly say? Sitting beside Little Grass's tombstone, I truly couldn't think of the right words. A profound sense of guilt lingered in my heart, yet I knew I had to learn to let go. Material things are balanced; the world is equitable. With the same sorrow, there will be the same joy. 0

For those of us in this line of work, on the front lines, sorrow may outweigh joy. Yet behind us, there are always those for whom joy outweighs sorrow. Sometimes, people fail to see the darkness because someone is pushing it far away from your sight. Little Grass once said she was also a police officer. Regardless of whether they are male or female, young or old, as long as they are a police officer, they have died for a worthy cause and deserve to be remembered for a lifetime. 0

"I don't know what to say," I said calmly, letting the gentle breeze carry my words into the endless Mountain. "As a police officer, I share my oath with you. No matter how others see or think about it, as long as the Killer is still out there, we will pursue them across mountains and rivers until we bring them to justice. Even if it means using our last breath or shedding our last drop of blood, we will seek justice for the deceased." 0

After saying this, I solemnly bowed and took out my badge from my pocket, gently placing it on the tombstone. "In my heart, you are a good girl and an excellent police officer." After that, I lay quietly on the ground, watching as the sunset cast its final glow down upon us, as if sowing sunlight across the earth piece by piece. Everything around seemed to soften; everything felt gentle. 0

The headache that had troubled me for so long finally subsided. 0

With the case concluded, Director Wang invited us to enjoy ourselves in Nangyun City. I sang and danced with the locals while savoring their unique delicacies. 0

Mary and Juan Juan bought a large bag of local specialties and insisted on taking it back for their friends to try. Mary exclaimed that she had wasted twenty years of her life; despite being of mixed Chinese and French descent from two great culinary nations, there were still delicious foods she had never tasted. Fortunately, she was still young with a long road ahead; her wish was to try every corner of her homeland's cuisine. 0

Finally, it was time to return home. On the plane, I gazed out at the scenery beyond the glass window with great interest; at last, I could peacefully enjoy the view. Suddenly, I heard Mary whispering beside me: "Sister Juan, you should be careful! Look at Brother Shao; he’s staring out of the window like he’s lost in thought—is he lovesick?" 0

Juan Juan quietly added, "I mentioned before that with today's technology, heart transplants are no big deal!" 0

I sighed helplessly and closed my eyes to sleep. A faint fragrance wafted through the air—it was the sachet Little Grass had given me, which I had washed clean and carried with me again. In a hazy state, I heard singing from somewhere: 0

In a sunny garden where sweat dampens his face, 0
Innocence is what I remember about that boy from when I was seventeen. 0
Brightly shining, time pulls youth along. 0
Running past the noise of playgrounds after naptime, 0
He found a four-leaf clover, 0
He gave me one in ten thousand chances. 0
How wonderful, 0
A heart-shaped smile gently floats in my palm. 0

This was the best sleep I had on the plane—no nightmares. 0

Just after getting off the plane, Juan Juan's phone rang. She looked at it and saw it was a call from the Medical Institute. After hanging up, Juan Juan's expression turned strange; something seemed to have happened. I asked her, "What’s wrong? Did something happen?" 0

Juan Juan nodded and said, "When I sent that document back to the capital, someone picked up that package." 0

"Picked up?" I asked in confusion. 0

Juan Juan said, "The delivery truck overturned on the road, and a lot of packages, including that document, were picked up by someone. You know how important that package is; if it falls into the hands of someone knowledgeable, it could be used for murder, and that would be dangerous. The capital has sent people, and almost all the missing packages have been found, except for this one document." 0

"Are you saying someone deliberately caused this accident just to get that document?" I was startled by Juan Juan's words. If someone went to such lengths to orchestrate an accident just to obtain a single document, that person or organization must be incredibly powerful. 0

Juan Juan frowned as well and replied, "The investigation results from the capital indicate that this accident was just a natural occurrence with no signs of foul play. There were no surveillance cameras at the scene, so we don't know who took the document. We can't confirm if it was premeditated; it's just too coincidental." 0

I continued, "All the other missing packages have been recovered, except for that document?" 0

"That's right," Juan Juan nodded. 0

I fell into deep thought. Was this a coincidence or something planned? If that document fell into the wrong hands, it could be problematic. I asked, "Is there a backup of that document?" 0

At that moment, Mary tapped her computer and said, "I took a few photos while researching earlier, but it's not comprehensive..." 0

Juan Juan added, "However, Special Case Team Two has been dispatched to investigate this matter. I think it won't be long before we can recover it. In any case, we just returned from Nang Yun; let's take a few days to rest." 0

Although Juan Juan said this, I couldn't help but ponder. I felt there was another force at play during our investigation. The current document situation mirrored the mysterious disappearance of the sixth body in the last case. Could all of this truly just be coincidence? 0
