Then, we heard the two detectives recount what happened as our two vehicles were leaving. At that time, our police car was surrounded by four vehicles known as the Front Four, Rear Eight, while the SUV in front was being forced to change lanes by several of these same vehicles. Under such aggressive obstruction, the driver dared not confront the Front Four, Rear Eight, and the other cars on the road quickly maneuvered to avoid them. 0

As a result, the SUV drove further and further away, ultimately straying far from our planned route. The number of cars on the road dwindled significantly; after more than two hours of driving, there were no other vehicles left—only their SUV and the remaining Front Four, Rear Eight. Soon enough, the road ahead was blocked by several more Front Four, Rear Eight vehicles, forcing the SUV to come to a halt. 0

Immediately after, none of the drivers from the Front Four, Rear Eight exited their cars. Instead, a crowd of around twenty to thirty masked individuals had gathered nearby, making it impossible to identify anyone. These people began shouting loudly outside the vehicle and seemed intent on overturning it. The two detectives had never witnessed such a scene before. 0

Armed with steel rods and machetes, these individuals could only be seen in the dim light cast by the car's headlights. The detectives felt a surge of fear as those outside demanded that the people inside the vehicle get out. A few complied. There were four people in total: one police officer driving, a female doctor in the passenger seat, and Guo Guoqing sitting in the back with another individual. 0

As these four exited the vehicle, a figure rose from within the crowd—a man towering at nearly two meters tall who had been seated among them until that moment. He was broad-shouldered and muscular, giving off an imposing presence reminiscent of a giant. 0

By this point in their story, we had a good idea of who this person was; he was likely an accomplice of Guo Guoqing. As they stepped out of the vehicle, they were immediately surrounded. At this moment, surprisingly, neither detective realized that these individuals were affiliated with Guo Guoqing. 0

One detective drew his gun and pointed it at the crowd, declaring, "We are police officers! What do you want? Step back or I will open fire!" 0

However, the large man at the forefront remained unfazed and continued to advance while saying, "Oh really? You have a gun in your hand and your partner has one too. I don't know how many bullets you have between you, but it can't be more than thirty." 0

"You can try shooting; let's see how many you can take down before we reach you," he continued as he led his group forward. The two young detectives had only been on duty for a year or two; they had never encountered such a situation before. In the dead of night, surrounded by over thirty people wielding machetes and wearing strange masks—silent except for the metallic clinking of weapons against each other—it was an intimidating sight. 0

Killing truly requires courage. I remember my first time facing a situation where I had to shoot someone; it took me a long time to recover from that experience. Normal people feel remorse even when witnessing a stray dog being hit by a car—let alone taking down a criminal. 0

The two detectives were completely stunned. If it had been Dezi in their place, he would have fired warning shots first; if that didn't stop them, he would have aimed for their legs rather than going for a lethal shot. This way, those criminals would lose their ability to attack. 0

Moreover, it wouldn't take many shots; just a few would likely make them stop. Surely these individuals weren't all desperate criminals. The reason they wore masks was likely twofold: to hide their identities from others and to conceal their own fearful expressions. 0

Wearing masks indicated that these people were definitely not wanted fugitives; if they were indeed wanted criminals, it wouldn't matter whether they wore masks or not. They could simply be hired thugs brought in by Guo Guoqing for intimidation purposes. However, within such a short span of time, these two young detectives couldn't fathom this possibility at all. 0

They even forgot to fire warning shots into the air, their hands trembling so much that they could barely hold their guns. They thought to themselves, what could possibly happen over such a short distance, especially since the Criminal was just a fifteen-year-old child? Little did they know that the actions this child would take were far beyond their imagination. 0

The distance between them and the crowd was not very far at all. In their hesitation, the group had almost surrounded them. Ultimately, they lacked the courage to shoot and were encircled by a tide of people. In the chaos, the two detectives could not see what was happening around them; all they felt was unbearable pain throughout their bodies. As they loosened their grip, their guns were snatched away. 0

After struggling for only a few minutes, the two were completely subdued. Their police uniforms were stripped from them, and their handcuffs and guns were taken from their waists. At that moment, they could no longer see where the female doctor and Guo Guoqing had been swept away by the crowd. 0

Then they were thrown onto a rural path, with the Front Four, Rear Eight all leaving. The leader, a man nearly two meters tall, drove away in an SUV. The female doctor and Guo Guoqing must have been taken into the vehicle as well. The two watched helplessly as the car disappeared into the distance, unable to do anything. 0

By this time, it was already past ten o'clock at night. They had been led off course by Front Four, Rear Eight; when they arrived here, they had been too busy trying to escape to even know where they were going. Once the car left and darkness enveloped them, it became impossible to see anything—there was no light in any direction. 0

There were no houses nearby; apart from the starlight, there was not a single glimmer of light from distant homes. They knew it had taken over two hours of driving to reach this place, but fortunately, they had not been knocked out and vaguely remembered the direction they had come from. However, their police uniforms had been taken away along with their radios and phones. Standing on that small road, they felt utterly helpless. 0

They wanted to notify their department immediately but had no means to do so. Thus, they could only walk back along the road in hopes of finding a house where they could make a phone call to contact their department; if only they could do that, everything would be resolved. Yet even this simple task proved impossible. 0

As they walked on, they found themselves wandering through the night until dawn broke. When light began to filter through, they realized that Front Four, Rear Eight had led them deep into Tianlan Mountain; no wonder there were no signs of civilization and no light at all. But how long would it take for them to walk out of a place that took two hours by car? 0

It was pitch black around them; occasionally, the sound of wind rustling through trees echoed like wails in the night. Despite being detectives, being in such deep mountains made them feel uneasy. They continued along the path outwards but made several wrong turns along the way; cold, tired, and thirsty—if it weren't for their strong willpower, they might not have made it out at all. 0

This is not an exaggeration; just imagine being lost in an unfamiliar place in complete darkness with no signs of life around you and eerie sounds echoing in your ears—who wouldn't be afraid? 0

They kept walking until daylight finally broke and led them out of the mountains. It felt like seeing sunlight again as they hurriedly continued on until they borrowed someone's phone to call the Police Department and rushed back. 0

Little did anyone expect that these two young detectives had spent an entire night traversing mountain paths. However, after this experience, perhaps they would be better prepared for similar situations in the future. 0

But now the issue was that although both detectives returned safely—much to our relief—Guo Guoqing did not kill them when he easily could have. It seemed that Guo Guoqing only killed women; he did not kill men—or rather, he looked down upon killing men. This was certainly a stroke of luck amidst misfortune; however, one person still did not return. 0

The person in question was the female doctor who had previously expressed her discontent regarding Guo Guoqing. Despite my warnings that Guo Guoqing was not someone to be underestimated, she remained skeptical of our concerns. Otherwise, Dezi and I wouldn't have been seated in the second vehicle, trying to avoid any conflict with her. 0

If Dezi and I had appeared at the Mountain, perhaps we could have dealt with these individuals. But that was all hypothetical; a thousand "what ifs" couldn't change what had already occurred. Although there was friction between us and the female doctor, we couldn't just stand by and let her face danger alone. 0

Now, two people were already missing: the Boss Lady from Prison Island Cafe and the female doctor. What exactly did Guo Guoqing intend to do? Would the female doctor fall victim to his schemes? 0

At that moment, we heard a commotion outside. It turned out that the leaders from the Provincial Department had arrived. Even before seeing them, their voices echoed through the air: "Damn it, who lost their guns! How could such a major incident happen? Guns are our lifeline; throwing away your life like that—what's the point of coming back? Dismissals all around!" 0

Hearing this, we knew the leaders from the Provincial Department were furious. I had no choice but to step out and try to calm them down. In the conference room, I spoke at length to ease their anger. After all, I was the head of the Special Investigation Team, and they gave me some leeway, changing their dismissal orders to suspensions for observation. 0

The higher-ups were taking this matter very seriously, demanding that we investigate as quickly as possible and ensuring that neither of those two guns harmed anyone or resulted in fatalities. If such an incident occurred, Yuzelin's title as Detective Captain would likely be revoked. While he wasn't directly in charge of us, he emphasized the gravity of the situation repeatedly. 0

In this regard, I was far more professional than he was and understood the urgency of the moment. The leader immediately stated that if manpower was insufficient, they would request additional personnel from above; they would arrange for reinforcements without delay. However, our team was indeed short-staffed. Just as we were sorting out our manpower issues, my phone rang again. 0

This time, an unfamiliar number flashed on my screen. 0

"LOL non-professional players earn millions annually; rich heiresses support them while living together—revealed! In the dead of night, one man and four women share a room, making strange noises..." 0
