My phone rang, and when I checked, it was an unfamiliar number. I waved my hand to the crowd and answered the call; in our line of work, we can't afford to miss a single call. Often, that number might bring us crucial information, possibly from someone in the know. Because of this, I've answered countless scam calls.
"Hello, who is this?" I asked.
"Hello!" A somewhat youthful voice came through the receiver. Upon hearing it, I was taken aback; this person was none other than Guo Guoqing, the one who had escaped. I would never forget that voice. Now, he was calling me back. When I arrived at the Police Department, my phone number had already been shared with all the staff there. Similarly, the kidnapped Dr. Sun should also have my number.
I immediately put my phone on speaker and signaled for everyone to be quiet before continuing, "Guo Guoqing, what do you want? Where have you taken Dr. Sun?"
Guo Guoqing chuckled and replied, "Dr. Sun looks quite nice and has a good heart; she's truly a good girl. For such a wonderful girl, I naturally have to do what I must. Her skin is so smooth..."
At this point, I realized that Dr. Sun had already been tainted by Guo Guoqing. My heart burned with anger; if Dezi and I hadn't been careless and had not split up with Dr. Sun over such a trivial matter, she might not have suffered Guo Guoqing's humiliation. Upon hearing this, everyone present gasped in shock; the leaders from the Provincial Department were sweating profusely. Although we knew Guo Guoqing had taken firearms away, hearing him mention it himself made everyone uneasy.
"Just imagine," Guo Guoqing said with a smile, "if I went up to a tall building and started shooting at people below—what kind of scene would that be? Picture it: people scrambling like ants, trampling each other; perhaps more would die from being trampled than from my bullets!"
Guo Guoqing spoke with a sickly satisfaction as if he were fantasizing about his own goddess. There was an inherent bloodlust within him; if he truly went mad and started shooting randomly at people, the impact on society would be catastrophic.

At that moment, I caught sight of Yuzelin anxiously watching as Mary connected the phone tracking device to my phone. All I could do was delay my conversation with Guo Guoqing for as long as possible. The longer I kept him talking, the better chance Mary would have to locate him.
I said to Guo Guoqing, "You have two guns with twelve bullets each—twenty-four bullets in total. You can shoot at bottles or birds in the sky all you want; I won't interfere. But if you dare use even one bullet to harm someone, once you're caught, every single bullet will be returned to you. I'm the head of the Special Investigation Team; I have the authority for many things—you need to understand that!"
At this moment, I was truly furious and had entertained the thought. For someone like Guo Guoqing, who was inherently anti-human, even if we couldn't execute him, we at least couldn't allow him to appear in public again. He must be locked away for life. I knew my words would have no effect on this Demon Boy, Guo Guoqing. But at this moment, it was all I could say. Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at Mary, who was intently focused on her computer, her fingers tapping away at the keyboard.
This laptop had been specially provided for Mary by our department; its performance was undoubtedly top-notch. I wondered what kind of trick Guo Guoqing was playing and asked, "What do you mean? What are you planning?"
Just then, Mary signaled me with her fingers and then made a fist. I understood that she was telling me she had confirmed the location of the call. I waved my hand for Mary and the others to act quickly while I turned off the speakerphone and joined everyone in action.
Yuzelin was already prepared outside; there were four cars in total along with twenty detectives from our team. The leaders from the Provincial Department were stationed inside the Police Department. The police cars moved without sirens, forming a line led by Dezi as they headed toward the location Mary had locked onto.
"Here’s what we'll do," Guo Guoqing continued. "Let's play a game of cat and mouse. While we've been talking, I've already tied Dr. Sun up somewhere. What kind of place is it? Naturally, I'm not going to tell you that; however, I'll remind you in a special way."
"What have you done to Dr. Sun?" I couldn't help but ask Guo Guoqing.
Guo Guoqing said with a smile, "The weather is probably just above freezing right now, but it's already past one in the afternoon. Soon, the temperature will drop, and it will get colder and colder. As for me, I've already tied up Dr. Sun in a certain place. If you can't find her soon, she might just freeze to death!"
"When that happens, the person who killed Dr. Sun won't be me. You'll have to blame your police force for being incompetent and unable to save her. Isn't that amusing? Just think about it—how long does it take for someone to freeze to death in this kind of weather? But Dr. Sun is a doctor."

But at that moment, Guo Guoqing had already hung up the phone. All I could hear was the beeping sound from the receiver and static; there were no other sounds. The fact that he hung up meant that he was likely about to leave this place. Realizing this, I quickly turned to Mary and the others and asked, "How much longer until we reach that location?"
Dezi looked at the preset location and distance before replying, "At least thirty minutes!"
Thirty minutes was enough time for Guo Guoqing to leave. My heart sank a little, but deep down, I knew from the beginning that it would be difficult to catch the Killer directly from this angle. If Guo Guoqing didn't realize this, he wouldn't be known as the Demon Boy.
