Dr. Sun had been taken into the operating room, and the weight on our hearts finally lifted. Given the current situation, it seemed that Dr. Sun was no longer in life-threatening danger. At that moment, we exchanged glances, feeling a sense of relief. If we hadn't quickly solved the mystery of the phone wallpaper, every minute of delay would have posed a risk to Dr. Sun's life.
Meanwhile, Yuzelin's group was still monitoring the surveillance footage, searching for Boss Lady, while the others scoured the dilapidated building for clues. Here at the hospital, it was just us; we had enough personnel to handle the situation. We instructed the remaining detectives from the Police Department to stay on standby, while the Special Investigation Team waited outside the operating room.
After about an hour and a half, we saw the doctor pushing Dr. Sun out of the room. By this time, Dr. Sun had regained consciousness; aside from a lingering cold and some damage to her trachea, she was stable with no significant long-term effects anticipated. With proper care, she should recover well. Seeing that Dr. Sun was safe brought us all a profound sense of relief.
Dr. Sun noticed us and heard the doctor say, "These individuals are your saviors. If it weren't for them, you might have faced life-threatening risks upon arriving at the hospital."
As a doctor herself, Dr. Sun understood this all too well. She looked at us with gratitude in her eyes, her voice still low and shaky as she said, "Thank you; I know you saved my life. Earlier on the way here, I was vaguely aware of my surroundings."
Then she looked at me and lowered her head, saying, "It's all my fault; I misjudged you all. That boy... he truly is a demon; I..."
At this point, Dr. Sun could say no more. I understood that after being taken by Guo Guoqing, she had been violated by him. This incident would leave a significant shadow over her life as someone who had not yet settled down. But what could we do? We couldn't even offer comforting words; yet given Dr. Sun's profession, she might be able to confront such matters.
Juan Juan approached Dr. Sun and whispered something in her ear; Dr. Sun nodded in acknowledgment. I shook my head helplessly and told her, "Don't think too much about it; what's important is that you're safe now. Just focus on resting; this ordeal is behind you."
As we walked outside, I reflected on how often people fail to truly empathize with one another's experiences. What one person goes through cannot be fully felt by another; even similar situations can affect individuals differently. For instance, one person might see a broken bone as a minor accident while another could find it excruciatingly painful.
Each person's unique perception shapes their worldview—there are no two people with identical perspectives on everything. Sometimes, the greatest sympathy one can show is to treat someone as if nothing has happened and allow them to return to their previous state.
Just then, Dr. Sun called out to us and said, "When I was with Guo Guoqing, I vaguely overheard some conversations between them about a plan or something similar, but I didn't catch everything. However, I feel it might be important..."
We were also curious about this matter but hesitated to press further given Dr. Sun's weakened condition until she brought it up herself. I realized that deep down, Dr. Sun felt more guilt about what had happened to her; if she had listened to me earlier, perhaps things wouldn't have escalated as they did. Nevertheless, since Dr. Sun was willing to confront her issues directly, we should be attentive listeners.
However, the corridor wasn't an appropriate place for such discussions, so we moved to an arranged hospital room to hear what Dr. Sun had learned from Guo Guoqing during her ordeal. We first learned about what transpired after Dr. Sun left with two detectives; Guo Guoqing had thrown those detectives off Tianlan Mountain before taking Dr. Sun away.
On their way down the mountain, all of Front Four and Rear Eight's drivers had left except for one SUV driven by a man who stood six feet three inches tall along with three others in total—excluding Dr. Sun herself—Guo Guoqing had two accomplices: one male and one female.
The man was the one who stood at Six Feet Three Inches tall, robust in build, with a dark complexion. He had a face that seemed perpetually scowling, giving off an air of authority without needing to raise his voice. Alongside him was a woman, strikingly beautiful but heavily made up; it was she who controlled Dr. Sun in the car.
We had already investigated the two individuals mentioned by Dr. Sun. One was an accomplice in the murders, a towering figure standing at Six Feet Three Inches, while the other was Angel, who handled tasks that Guo Guoqing found difficult to manage himself.
We knew Angel's appearance and mission but were still unaware of her exact location. As for the towering man, we did not know his name or what he looked like. Although two detectives had sketched a likeness based on their descriptions, lacking a clear photograph made it challenging to locate him.
At that time, Guo Guoqing was driving while Angel controlled Dr. Sun, who sat in the back seat. The large man followed closely behind in an SUV. Alone in the car, Dr. Sun harbored a flicker of hope that this Demon Boy, Guo Guoqing, would not harm him.
After about two hours of driving, they arrived at a building in the northern part of the city. Upon reaching this location, we immediately informed Dr. Sun of the address where we had previously discovered a phone and asked if he had been brought here. Dr. Sun shook his head, indicating that this was not the place. He then provided us with another address.
As soon as I received this new address, I sent it to Yuzelin, instructing her to take her team there for an inspection right away. Meanwhile, Dr. Sun continued recounting his ordeal. This place appeared to be an upscale apartment complex; he had considered calling for help but realized that the Six Feet Three Inches tall man could easily lift him like a chick with just one arm. With Angel present as well, Dr. Sun felt utterly powerless to call for help or escape.
Once inside, Dr. Sun found himself confined to a room without windows—like a prison cell—furnished only with a small bed and nothing else. It seemed specially constructed for holding someone captive. However, the soundproofing was inadequate, allowing Dr. Sun to hear conversations happening outside.
Since Guo Guoqing and his associates spoke softly and were positioned at a distance, Dr. Sun could only catch snippets of their dialogue and could not discern critical details clearly. Thus, he couldn't determine whether their words were normal exchanges between Guo Guoqing and others or intentionally spoken for his benefit to mislead the police.
Dr. Sun then relayed bits and pieces of what he had overheard to us. We managed to piece together a rough outline but struggled to make sense of it all, relying on our imaginations to fill in the gaps regarding Guo Guoqing's statements.
Guo Guoqing addressed the two individuals: "Have you prepared everything I arranged before entering? I have only one wish now; once this is over, those things will belong to you. We are alike in this regard; isn't that why we came together?"
There followed a brief silence—perhaps the three were nodding or shaking their heads in agreement.
Then Angel and the Six Feet Three Inches tall man reported back on their responsibilities to Guo Guoqing. Angel spoke first: "I have completed everything you assigned me; he trusts me now completely. We can initiate action at any time; we've already delayed too long—doesn't that put us at a disadvantage?"
From this statement, we gleaned two key points: first, everything was ready for action at any moment; second, Angel seemed to have gained someone's trust—who could this person be? Was this "he" truly male or could it be female? What did Guo Guoqing want Angel's trust for?
Guo Guoqing replied, "Now is not the time. I will arrange when to act. Your current task is to keep him steady and continue gaining his trust. Understand? That person hasn't noticed anything, right?"
"That guy? Hmph, he's really incompetent!" Angel continued.
Who could 'he' be?
Another silence fell, and Six Feet Three Inches shouted, "I've got everything ready on my end. Zhao Qi is dead; the police won't find us here. And that woman is currently locked up in a safe place where no one will discover her. Just let me know when to act. Lastly, I don't want your things; I just want to do what I wish."
Guo Guoqing said, "Good. It's already the 20th; soon, New Year's will be here. By then, we'll have a pleasant celebration. But tonight, I need to enjoy myself first!"
The conversation among the group came to a halt, while Dr. Sun in the room understood what Guo Guoqing meant. However, without Guo Guoqing personally voicing it, she couldn't connect it with the tearful boy in the interrogation room crying out, "Sister, it hurts."
As it turned out, this demon did what a demon was supposed to do. That night, Dr. Sun was restrained by Angel and Six Feet Three Inches and then violated by Guo Guoqing. Afterward, she was thrown into that room. The next day around ten o'clock, The Man Who Is Six Feet Three Inches Tall and Guo Guoqing stripped Dr. Sun and tied her to a tree on Qingyou Ridge.
It was noon then, and the temperature wasn't very low. So, Guo Guoqing splashed water on Dr. Sun, hoping to hasten her death before they drove away. The subsequent events led to her rescue from Qingyou Ridge.
