"Welcome everyone to the Hunter Exam venue. I am the chief examiner for the first stage, Satotsu. There are quite a few examinees this time, over a hundred, probably more than four hundred."
"Next, please follow in my footsteps to reach the venue," he said.
The scene before us is like a grand event, attracting people from all over with various backgrounds.
Hidden among them is competition and hostility, but also a mutual respect. This is the exam site for the Hunter Exam, a brutal stage for selecting the most powerful individuals.
The examination site is a vast plain surrounded by towering mountains. At the foot of the mountains, a lush green grassland stretches like a green carpet to the distant horizon.
Green trees, red flowers, blue water... all these Yoshimi scenes flash past a group of hurried people, losing their meaning for appreciation.
This is a crucial Hunter Exam, and the current challenge is to follow Examine Satozz to the Port of Dover.
Examine Satozz is a tall man with legs as thick as oak, and his facial expression is always calm and smiling, as if everything is just a piece of cake for him. He walks very steadily, but surprisingly fast.
They quickly reached the 40-kilometer mark, and more than a dozen people had already dropped out of the race.
Leorio slightly bent his back, one hand propped on his knee, struggling to maintain his breath. He glanced at Gon and Chi beside him, feeling a hint of self-mockery in his heart.
"Hmph, is this level of challenge starting to get to me?" Leorio sneered, but his eyes revealed a hint of fatigue.
Gon noticed Leorio's discomfort and turned to say, "Are you okay, Leorio?"
Leorio smiled and tousled his short black hair, trying to appear relaxed: "It's nothing, really. Don't worry too much, Gon."
Gon smiled back, but there was still a hint of worry in his eyes.
At that moment, a figure swiftly passed through the crowd and stopped in front of them. It was a young man with hair as soft as silk and eyes that revealed a sense of indifference.
"Stinky kid, you're breaking the rules of the game!" Leorio shouted.
"Do I?" the boy said, riding on a skateboard.
"Still saying that? This is a test of endurance!" Leorio continued.
"No, the examiner just told us to keep up with him," Gon said.
" Gon, whose side are you on?" Leorio said angrily.
"My brother is right, it's clearly Leorio who is jealous!" Chi stuck out her tongue and said.
"Leorio, don't shout so loudly, it's a waste of energy, and your voice is already so loud! The principle of the exam is that you can bring anything," said Curarpikt.
"Alright, then I'll run too," the boy put away his skateboard and started running on foot.
"I'm Killua, are you guys here to participate in the Hunter Exam?" the young man asked with a smile.
Gon's eyes lit up and he excitedly said, "Yes, we are here to participate in the Hunter Exam. I'm Gon, this is my sister Chi, and my friends Leorio and Curarpikt."
"Oh, nice to meet you. How old are you this year?" Killua responded, showing a hint of subtle interest in his expression.
"I'm twelve years old. My sister and I are twins," Gon said.
"You two are the same age as me," Killua said.
"Uncle, what's your name?" Killua asked Leorio.
"No manners, I'm the same age as you guys, in my teens," Leorio said.
"Really?" Gon said in surprise.
"Ah, even Gon is saying that, it's too much. I'm going to end our friendship!" Leorio shouted.
Curarpikt quietly distanced himself from them at this moment, thinking it's so embarrassing, better to stay away from them.
Chi was laughing silently beside her, but at the same time feeling embarrassed, so she moved a little further away with Curarpikt.
"Now it's been almost four hours since we started running, probably about 50 kilometers by now. Some people probably can't keep up at the back. How long do we have to keep running?" she thought to herself.
"Leorio, you look a little tired," Killua said, while looking at him with a deep and unfathomable coldness in his eyes.
Leorio gave him a glare, looking somewhat displeased, but then flashed a confident smile: "You're the one who looks a bit tired. I feel great."
He said this, but various thoughts about Nen were churning in Leorio's mind: "I've been running for four or five hours already, how come no one can keep up? Did I underestimate the difficulty of the Hunter Exam? No, I should say I underestimated the strength of the other participants. This group of people is more like a collection of prehistoric monsters. I've been too careless."
Just as Leorio was thinking this, he realized that his speed was slowing down, almost coming to a stop.
"Leorio!" Gon exclaimed, his expression filled with worry and anxiety.
"Don't worry about him. This is not a place for children to play," Killua said coldly, with a hint of disdain in his tone.
However, Gon had no intention of abandoning Leorio and was determined to stay with him.
"Brother, don't worry, Leorio should be able to handle it himself," Chi said with a slight smile, comforting her brother with a steady voice.
"Forget it, I refuse to give up!" Leorio suddenly seemed to regain his life, rushing forward, but in his haste, he forgot to take his suitcase with him.
Gon glanced at the suitcase left behind, smiled, then used his grappling hook to reel it in before continuing to run forward with the suitcase in hand.
"Wow, that's so cool! Can I try it later?" Killua saw this scene and his eyes lit up with excitement in his voice.
"Of course, but before that, let me borrow your skateboard to play." Gon responded, with a playful tone.
Chi followed beside them, feeling that the friendship between the two of them might be budding at this moment.
I have already run 60 kilometers.
Suddenly, the terrain became increasingly rugged, no longer a flat road, but a seemingly endless steep staircase, with each step challenging the endurance and willpower of the test-takers.
Examine Satozz Suddenly stopped, turned around, and announced in a somewhat playful tone, "Everyone, I'm going to speed up!" His voice echoed in the air, making everyone feel a sense of tension. Then, he suddenly leaped up, as if flying, and crossed two steps in one stride.
The candidates who saw this scene were almost dumbfounded, at a loss for what to do for a while. Not only were they dumbfounded, but they also had to exert more effort to catch up.
"This guy is really a monster!" said the candidate at the front.
"Oh my god, this is too fast!" muttered a candidate.
"Who said it's not? I can barely keep up." Another examinee responded.
"Is this your first time participating in the Hunter Exam? This speed is considered basic." A seemingly experienced examinee said.
"Basic? Are you kidding me!" The first examinee seemed somewhat displeased.
"No, he's right. If you think this is too fast, the next challenges might be even harder for you." A female examinee interjected.
"Big brother, I'm tired," Chi said as she tugged on Gon's sleeve.
"Take a rest first, I'll carry you," Gon stopped and showed a warm smile on his face, like a gentle ray of sunlight at sunset.
"Thank you, big brother. I'll hold the suitcase in my hand," Chi felt a warmth and smiled, then gently leaned her head on Gon's shoulder, as if she had found a comforting haven.
Leorio saw this scene and couldn't help feeling a little envious: "This is so unfair, having a brother to take care of you, that's really great. I really want someone to carry me on their back too."
"You will have someone carry you, more accurately, someone will carry you to the venue," Chi joked upon hearing Leorio's words.
" Chi, what are you talking about? There's no way someone would carry me and run. Are you trying to scare me on purpose?" Leorio responded somewhat displeased.
"Leorio, focus on running. My sister's speech has been a bit different since she hit her head. You don't have to pay too much attention to it," Gon quickly intervened to diffuse the awkward situation.
Chi heard her brother's words, stuck out her tongue at Leorio, and then comfortably lay on Gon's back, completely ignoring the tense atmosphere around her.
At that moment, Killua walked over to them and said with a smile, "You siblings have a really good relationship."
"Yes, we have always been like this, the closest family from childhood to adulthood," Gon responded, his voice filled with concern for his sister.
"Killua, you also have a sister, no need to envy," Chi said.
"Huh? I only have a brother, not a sister?" Killua said in confusion.
"One day, you will remember that you have a sister," Chi said.
Killua heard Chi's words, his eyes flashed for a moment, but quickly returned to calm, "If I really remember, it must be very interesting."
Leorio waved the suitcase in his hand, clearly out of breath.
He took off his sunglasses, his upper body shirt already taken off and tied around his waist, sweating all over. "This examiner can really walk!" he muttered under his breath, but still gritted his teeth and continued forward.
Having walked nearly 100 kilometers, the candidates hurried to catch up, including Gon. Gon carried Chi on his back and ran with all his strength. His green shirt became stickier due to sweat.
Leorio also quickened his pace, thinking to himself, "No matter how tired I am, I absolutely cannot collapse here."
Curarpikt doesn't seem to be affected at all, as composed as ever.
Killua seemed to be following them casually, but his eyes revealed a chilling coldness, and he felt that this place was not very safe.
Gon felt the weight of Chi on his back gradually increasing, but he didn't complain at all.
"No matter what, I can't give up," Gon thought silently in his heart.
Time passed quickly, and one by one, the candidates began to fall behind, leaving only a very small number of people who could keep up with Examine Satozz's pace. Gon and his group were among them.
