In the eerie and misty fog, Gon dashed towards Hisoka like a bolt of lightning, attempting to attack him.
However, Hisoka's reaction speed far exceeded his expectations, and he appeared almost instantly by his side, fiercely grabbing his neck.
"Hey, you're quite an interesting kid. Did you come back specifically to save your companion?" A strange smile appeared at the corner of Hisoka's mouth, his eyes seemingly mocking Gon's ignorance and courage.
Just as Hisoka was reveling in this sense of superiority, Chi suddenly darted quickly between them.
She swiftly reached out a hand, and a thin thread made of Manipulation shot out from her palm, skillfully wrapping around Hisoka's arm, allowing Gon to break free instantly.
"Let him go!" Chi's eyes flashed with anger as she gritted her teeth and commanded.
She stood out in her pink dress in this tense atmosphere, but her determined gaze revealed her inner resolve.
Hisoka was momentarily surprised, but he quickly regained his eerie smile. "Hmm, it seems you're no ordinary child, already able to use Nen."
Gon took the opportunity to create distance between himself and Hisoka. His gaze remained calmly fixed on Hisoka but he did not make any comments.
"Don't worry, I didn't kill that guy with the glasses. Because he has already passed the test," Hisoka said to Gon with a smug smile on his face.
"Well, both of you have passed. Get ready to become excellent hunters," Hisoka said nonchalantly, seemingly unconcerned about what just happened.
"What?" Curarpikt felt very surprised after hearing that.
"Hehe, maybe. I'm in a good mood today, so I'll let you guys off this time," Hisoka lazily responded.
Suddenly, the phone in Hisoka's pocket rang, making a "beep beep beep" sound.
" Hisoka, it's time for you to come back. The second meeting is about to start," came the instructions from the other end of the phone.
"OK, I'll be right over," Hisoka responded simply before hanging up the phone.
He turned back and glanced at Gon and Chi, saying, "People really can't be without companions, can they?"
"Can one person go back?" Hisoka asked Gon and Chi again.
Gon and Chi nodded.
"Two good kids," said Hisoka, then immediately picked up the unconscious Leorio and gradually disappeared into the thick fog.
Chi immediately ran to Gon's side, and their eyes met.
"He's truly an elusive guy," Curarpikt shook his head, looking somewhat helpless.
"At least he didn't cause us any harm, which is definitely something to be grateful for. He even helped us carry Leorio to the venue," Chi tried to find some comfort in it.
"Well, we still can't take it lightly," Gon reminded everyone with a serious expression.
Gon, Chi, and Curarpikt followed the scent of Leorio's cologne and slowly emerged from the mist, arriving at the second exam venue.
As soon as Examine Satozz saw that everyone had probably arrived, a voice rang out.
"Thank you all for your hard work. We have safely passed through the Lost Melody Wetland and arrived at the Biscan Forest Park, which is also the venue for the second round of the exam," said the first examiner, Saatsi.
"Well then, I'll take my leave. Good luck to everyone," said Saatsi. In his mind, he thought, "There are about 150 people here. I originally estimated that at least two digits worth of people would be eliminated. This year really is a big harvest!"
"No matter what, the more it is like this, the more I feel regretful. Because the examiners for the second round are Menchi and Buhara. After this round, there will be only fifty people left... no, depending on the questions, there might be less than ten left. But I am very interested in how the next people will handle it. Let's see the situation first and then decide." Sazi thought to himself.
Unlike the tense atmosphere of the first trial, the venue of the second trial presented a luxurious ambiance. A two-story house was situated on a lush green lawn, surrounded by various exquisite flowers and peculiar plants.
Gon They saw Hisoka, who was standing under a giant banyan tree, his red and yellow hair shining in the sunlight.
His finger pointed lightly to the tree opposite, where Leorio lay unconscious.
Gon and Curarpikt hurried over, their faces showing worry. Gon squatted down and gently patted Leorio's face, trying to wake him up.
Leorio slowly opened his eyes, looked around at the familiar yet unfamiliar environment, and then asked in confusion, "Huh? How did I get here?" His voice revealed a hint of bewilderment and unease.
"When did you wake up?" Gon asked.
"Ah? Um, just now," Leorio said.
"Weird, I can't remember why I got injured. I only remember entering the wetlands, and then I can't remember anything else," Leorio said.
Curarpikt immediately showed a slight relieved smile and responded without hesitation, "Well, other than the wrist injury, everything else is fine."
Leorio touched his face and felt a sharp pain on the right side.
He frowned discontentedly, then said with a somewhat self-deprecating tone, "Everything else is fine? Curarpikt, did you miss something? Haven't you seen my handsome face? Look at my right cheek, swollen like a pig's head, isn't it?"
Upon hearing this, Gon, Chi, and Curarpikt couldn't help but burst into laughter. Gon covered her mouth and chuckled, while Curarpikt smiled and shook his head. Chi laughed heartily.
"You guys, stop laughing. It hurts a lot, and I don't know when it will go away," Leorio said.
"Hey, at least you've had a stroke of luck. It was Hisoka who carried you over here. Otherwise, Leorio, you wouldn't have made it all the way." Chi suppressed a smile, turning her head away from Leorio's "pig head" and speaking with a hint of teasing in her tone.
" Hisoka? Is that the guy who looks like a clown?" Leorio became instantly wary at the mention of this name. "Did he do anything strange to me?"
Curarpikt smiled and said, "Don't worry, he just carried you out of the swamp. When you were unconscious, he even made a point to tell us not to worry."
"Hmph, that guy is so dangerous, who knows what he'll do next," Leorio furrowed his brow, then touched his swollen right cheek, "What am I going to do with this handsome face? I still need this face to attract beautiful women!"
"Wow, Leorio brother, you really haven't changed at all!" Chi said with a smile.
"Changed? How is that possible? I am always full of charm and confidence no matter when!" Leorio puffed out his chest, looking like he wouldn't be outdone.
"Why is everyone outside?" Gon looked around and asked.
"It's probably because we can't go in yet," Killua replied nonchalantly.
" Killua, you're here!" Gon exclaimed in surprise.
"Hi," Killua responded with a smile.
"Did you use any special method to come back? I thought you wouldn't be able to come back," Killua asked curiously.
"Actually, I followed the scent of Leorio's Drakken cologne to get here," Gon replied candidly.
"You mean, you found your way here just by following a perfume scent?" Killua looked somewhat incredulous.
"Yeah, that's it," Gon said simply.
"That's a little strange, are you a dog?" Killua asked jokingly.
"Do I look like it?" Gon asked, squinting his eyes.
"In fact, my brother has very strong intuition and perception, sometimes even more acute than animals," Chi explained with a smile.
"Yes, Chi is right. I grew up in the great outdoors and have a special connection with animals, so my intuition and perception are indeed stronger," Gon added, smiling warmly.
"Well, since you all say so, I won't say much more," Killua said with a smile.
"Are we going to keep waiting here?" Gon asked, puzzled.
"Follow me, and you'll understand," Killua responded mysteriously.
Killua led Gon and Chi to a huge door that was tightly shut.
"We could only hear some strange noises from outside the door and couldn't go in. So for now, we can only wait here," explained Gon.
Just as they were discussing, the door suddenly opened at noon.
A woman sitting in a chair appeared at the doorway, with a tall man standing behind her.
The woman had five braids on her head, wearing a bra and a black mesh top, and short denim shorts on her lower body, with high heels on her feet.
" Buhara, are you hungry?" the woman asked playfully.
"No need to ask, I'm practically starving," the man behind her replied with a wry smile.
"Okay, so the theme for the second round of the exam is cooking. All examinees, please prepare a delicious dish to satisfy the taste buds of our two food hunters," the woman announced.
"First, you need to complete the cooking task I have assigned," the man continued.
"Only by passing my test can you continue to face her challenge. As long as both of us find it delicious, you will have passed the second round. The test will continue until both of us are full," the woman added.
"I am Buhara. This test is very simple. I want to eat a whole roasted pig, which is also my favorite food," Buhara waved to everyone. "Any kind of pig found in this forest park is acceptable."
"The second round of the exam is now officially beginning! The first half of the second round will be a test based on the menu of Buhara. Currently, a total of 148 candidates are participating."
Leorio took off his sunglasses, revealing his brown pupils. He adjusted the collar of his suit and said with a smile, "Haha, I can finally relax. The exam turned out to be such a simple cooking theme."
Gon waved his hand and said with a smile, "So, you're saying we just need to catch a pig and roast it?"
Curarpikt carefully adjusted his tie, then calmly analyzed, "Then we need to hurry. Even if the examiner is big, his appetite should still be limited."
Wearing a pink dress, Chi's eyes flashed with a calculating light as she elegantly said, "So, the key to this exam is how to quickly and accurately find the right 'pig' and how to cook it deliciously to satisfy the examiner's taste."
The candidates rushed out as if a heavy burden had been lifted, heading towards a forest with towering trees and lush green leaves. The air was filled with the scent of soil and foliage, enveloping the entire forest in a primitive atmosphere.
The two examiners who stayed in place were quietly talking.
"The type of pig is not restricted? Your test design is a bit wicked." The female examiner smiled and said.
Buhara standing behind her squinted his eyes, revealing a strange smile.
"In fact, in the Biskan Forest, there is only one type of pig, and that is the notoriously bad-tempered Hognose Rampager," the female examiner continued to explain.
"And this Hognose Rampager can easily destroy any enemy with its incredibly hard snout. If one is not careful, those who originally went to hunt the pigs may end up becoming the prey and food of the pigs instead," Buhara added, with a hint of playful smile on her face.
