In Wei Chen's True God World, there were now only two "residents": one was the Fire God, and the other was the Ying Qin Supreme Deity. Wei Chen brought the Ying Qin Supreme Deity to the Witch Clan Continent, but it had not yielded any immediate results. The Ying Qin Supreme Deity could only remain within Wei Chen's True God World, waiting for his summons.
He found himself at the edge of the True God World, far from the Fire God. Although the Fire God had restrained his Fire Divine Power and the raging flames had vanished, his imposing aura still radiated for thousands of miles around. Within that range, no one dared to approach.
"Fire God, be clear with your words; otherwise, we might just leave. This palace has nothing in it—it's completely empty, and we won't gain a single benefit," Wei Chen thought to himself calmly.
If one were to speak of benefits, there were indeed some: killing Dongfang Ming and obtaining the Mental Strength cultivation method before Dongfang Ming's death was a significant advantage.
The Fire God sneered coldly and said, "You truly are in a treasure mountain yet unaware of your fortune. What you call treasures are both far away and right in front of you."
"Far away and right in front? Are you referring to this palace?" Wei Chen chuckled, accustomed to the Fire God's indifference. However, he felt somewhat proud of himself now; he was not merely a creation of the Demon God but rather a product of the union between the Demon God and the Witch Clan Princess. The burden that the Fire God had placed upon him was due to his lineage—the Demon God had become weak because of him, and he had already turned that burden back on its head.
With this realization, Wei Chen found that he no longer held any respect for the Fire God. Or rather, he no longer felt any awe. When respect for someone fades, conversations become much more casual.
It was only now that Wei Chen truly recognized his identity: his father, the Demon God, had become a thing of the past, while he himself was the true Demon God.
With the Heavenly Witch Creation Technique and his Demon God Bloodline powers, given time, he would undoubtedly surpass the strength of the former Demon God.
In light of this, why should he be so restrained around the Fire God?
The Fire God sensed Wei Chen's change; she did not know whether to feel pleased or angry. Wei Chen's lack of respect was certainly less than before; logically speaking, she should be furious. However, upon reflection, she realized that this very attitude from Wei Chen was necessary for him to grow into a true Demon God—one who could restore the glory of the Ancient Gods. If viewed from this perspective, Wei Chen's arrogance was indeed essential.
After a moment of silence, the Fire God said lightly, "Wei Chen, you are finally acting more normally. As the son of a Demon God, a bit of arrogance and confidence is necessary. I am glad to see you like this; in the future, we will all need you."
Wei Chen chuckled softly and replied within his Sea of Consciousness to the Fire God: "Whatever happens will happen naturally; my current strength is simply too weak to even imagine what lies ahead. I'll take it one step at a time."
"Mm." The Fire God nodded within Wei Chen's True God World and continued, "This palace is a treasure of the Gold God, containing endless transformations. When you reach the Ancient God-Level strength, you'll naturally be able to see it."
Hearing this, Wei Chen exclaimed with surprise, "This palace belongs to the Gold God? That's an incredible treasure!"
Just as his excitement settled, Wei Chen faced a dilemma. As wonderful as the treasure was, he needed a way to take it with him. Although his True God World was vast enough to easily accommodate a mountain, the problem was that this palace could not be controlled, making it impossible to store in his True God World.
To enter Wei Chen's True God World, two conditions were necessary: first, the person must be willing; second, Wei Chen must be able to control and guide them into his True God World.
In the case of the palace they were in, it was clear that Wei Chen could not meet either condition.
The Fire God said calmly, "With your current strength, it's indeed impossible. Therefore, I can only help you."
Wei Chen felt no shame in asking for the Fire God's assistance; after all, he was a true Ancient God while he was merely an amateur.
Wei Chen smiled and said, "That sounds great. Please help me move this palace into my True God World, and I will be grateful."
"No need for gratitude," the Fire God replied. "As long as you quickly cultivate to the highest realm and provide an explanation for our universe system, that will suffice."
After a pause, the Fire God continued, "This palace is right here; it won't run away. If you want to take it into your True God World now, it's quite simple. However, if you do it now, everyone around you—and even everyone in Mirror Lake Town—will know that it was your doing."
"Alright then. I'll wait for an opportunity in the future; we can come back for it later," Wei Chen decided firmly. The Gold God's palace wouldn't escape him; since he couldn't take it now, he could always return later.
After concluding his conversation with the Fire God, Wei Chen's expression returned to normal.
Wei Chen was likely conversing with the Lord of Fire within his True God World, appearing calm and composed. Dugu, however, was unaware of this and, seeing Wei Chen finally regain consciousness, hurriedly asked, "Brother Wei Chen, are you alright?"
After learning about Wei Chen's identity, Dugu's attitude towards him inevitably became more respectful. He understood that being "captured" on the Witch Clan Continent and assisting the young man before him was his primary responsibility. If he failed in this task, he would face dire consequences from that powerful figure.
Moreover, Dugu gradually developed a genuine respect for both Wei Chen and Shaohuang. Their cultivation time far exceeded his own; in terms of seniority, both Wei Chen and Shaohuang were his seniors.
It was only right to be courteous towards one's seniors.
Wei Chen smiled lightly and said, "I'm fine; I was just pondering some matters. Well, let's go. There's nothing of value here; we basically came for nothing."
"Not entirely for nothing; at least Dongfang Ming is dead, which means there's one less scoundrel trying to stab us in the back. That's a good thing," Shaohuang God King remarked calmly.
Wei Chen agreed. The Gold God’s palace was temporarily out of reach and would be useless even if they obtained it. It could remain there as a foundation for Mirror Lake. Although Dongfang Ming wasn't a significant threat, having someone constantly scheming against you was unsettling.
"Indeed, Dongfang Ming's hostility towards us was inexplicable. However, he did do us a favor; at least I've acquired the Mental Strength cultivation method. That is truly a treasure; our efforts here were not in vain. Moreover..." Wei Chen turned to Dugu with a cheerful smile and said, "We’ve also made a new friend, haven’t we?"
Dugu replied with a smile, "If it's meant to be, we'll meet regardless of the time. We're destined to fight for the same goal, aren't we?"
The same goal—wasn't that the ambition of the Demon God to destroy the Witch Clan?
To be honest, Wei Chen wasn't particularly interested in that goal! The vast Witch Clan couldn't simply be destroyed at will. Wei Chen's strength was far from sufficient; moreover, even if he reached the power necessary to annihilate the Witch Clan, he wouldn't do it.
Regardless of the circumstances, Wei Chen considered himself a kind-hearted person. He could never bring himself to commit acts of mass murder. Although he didn't believe in concepts like karma, the kindness deep within him could never be changed.
After resting for two days at the Dugu Town Lord's Manor, the trip to Mirror Lake Town came to a close.
Accompanied by Dugu's guards, Wei Chen and Shaohou began their journey back.
Meanwhile, in the Right Holy City at the Yang Residence, the key figures of the Second Elder and the Yang Chengmai Clan were present.
The Second Elder, Yang Cheng, held significant power within the Yang Residence, second only to the clan leader. In some matters, his influence even surpassed that of the leader.
Yang Cheng's son, Yang Jin, was also a prominent figure in the Yang Residence. Previously, he had been responsible for all the harvests in Mirror Lake Town, making the Yang Chengmai Clan exceedingly wealthy.
Yang Guang, as the only male descendant of his generation in the Yang Chengmai Clan, was showered with affection. Even in Right Holy City, he was renowned as a Young Master. Although the secular customs on Witch Clan Continent were not as severe, having a good family background still brought many advantages.
Wherever there are people, there is intrigue; those who seek to curry favor naturally exist.
The Yang Chengmai Clan wielded great influence within the Yang Residence, but long ago, their atmosphere was not so toxic that they would contemplate harming Yang Liao. However, everything changed with Lady Wei's arrival.
Now, it could be said that Lady Wei was the mastermind behind the Yang Chengmai Clan.
The four gathered in a secret chamber. Yang Cheng sat calmly in an armchair, seemingly unaffected by anything around him. In contrast, Yang Jin paced anxiously, his expression grim. Yang Guang stood quietly to one side, a hint of coldness on his face.
Only Lady Wei displayed a commanding presence, her demeanor remarkably composed.
Lady Wei surveyed the room before stepping forward to stand before Yang Cheng. She slightly bowed and said calmly, "Father, the assassins we sent to kill that brat Yang Liao have all failed."
"Well, handle it as you see fit," Yang Cheng replied indifferently.
Lady Wei looked at Yang Jin and coldly asked, "Yang Jin, where did you hire the assassins from? No matter how much Yang Liao has improved, facing elite assassins, he is undoubtedly doomed."
The implication in Lady Wei's words was a reprimand of Yang Jin for bringing in such incompetent killers, which had led to a major problem. Yang Jin was her husband, but Lady Wei was extremely assertive; it seemed that Old Yang Cheng had already become accustomed to her domineering ways and did not take it to heart.
Yang Jin lacked the qualities of a leader, and Yang Cheng understood this well. It was Lady Wei who was the pillar of their lineage. It was embarrassing to admit, but it was the truth. Although Yang Cheng sometimes felt uncomfortable about it, he could only turn a blind eye.
Having been criticized by his wife, Yang Jin felt helpless; being scolded by Lady Wei was a common occurrence for him. When a man reached such a point, it truly felt stifling.
Yang Jin remained silent, but it was Yang Guang who spoke up for his father.
"Mother, you can't blame Dad for this. Yang Liao has changed somehow; it's as if he's become a different person altogether, and his strength has skyrocketed."
Upon hearing Yang Guang's words, Lady Wei replied lightly, "No matter what, the assassins I personally sent must ensure his death."
"Mother, what level of people did you send?" Yang Guang asked.
Lady Wei sneered and said, "Three first-level sorcerers to guarantee absolute success!"
At this revelation, the three generations of the Yang family were taken aback. Was a mere Yang Liao really worth spending such a high price to hire three sorcerers?
