"No, trust me, Father. Before the New Year, I will complete my Shikigami using the soul of Xiao Yefeng!" Zhu Ganglie said, turning and walking toward the Incinerator. 0

However, Zhu Ganglie's father looked pleased as he watched his son walk away. Not long after, screams of people being burned alive echoed from the Incinerator, accompanied by a chilling wind. 0

At that moment, Xiao Yefeng was deep in meditation. It was more like he had fallen asleep while practicing. As he rehearsed everything from his memories, he continuously absorbed the Earth Qi from the Beautiful Grooming terrain. Yin Qi could not be absorbed by the living, but it could bring spiritual energy from the earth. Every action had its reason in Reincarnation; the terrain of Beautiful Grooming allowed Xiao Yefeng to absorb Earth Qi more rapidly. 0

However, there was no longer an abundance of Qi on Earth. Thus, individuals like Xiao Yefeng had to rely on these advantageous yet often detrimental terrains to enhance their power. Fortunately, Xiao Yefeng possessed a complete memory inheritance, so the side effects brought by Yin Qi had been eliminated. 0

In a deep state of meditation, Xiao Yefeng faced the window. The open window allowed a refreshing breeze to flow into the room. If someone were present, they would notice that this breeze seemed to swirl around Xiao Yefeng invisibly. 0

At that moment, a wave of black mist drifted in from afar. The absorbed Yin Qi from Beautiful Grooming appeared to grow denser, as if it had caught a whiff of Xiao Yefeng's presence and rushed toward him. Just as the black mist lunged at Xiao Yefeng, the Seven Silver Needles beside him trembled slightly without any wind. The Silver Needle embedded with a Silver Bell gently swayed, producing an inaudible yet resonant chime. 0

The sound swept over the black mist, causing it to flee as if it were a mouse encountering a cat. After nearly exhausting all its energy, it escaped from Xiao Yefeng's vicinity. Meanwhile, the terrain of Beautiful Grooming seemed to recognize this anomaly; waves of Yin Qi surged toward the black mist like a tidal wave. Sensing that it was outmatched, the black mist lingered for just a moment at the third villa before vanishing into thin air within the Golden House Courtyard. At that point, Earth Qi returned to its usual state. 0

Xiao Yefeng stood at the window, watching the retreating black mist thoughtfully shake his head. In fact, he had already noticed it when the Seven Star Formation—comprising the Seven Silver Needles—was disturbed by the black mist. However, since he was currently rehearsing his father's memories in his mind, he paid no attention to its presence. Indeed, under the central star of the Seven Star Formation, the Silver Bell Needle protected Xiao Yefeng and struck at the black mist. 0

Xiao Yefeng recognized this black mist—not personally but through memories left by his father or ancestors. It was well-known as a product of ghost-raising techniques; it was a Spirit Tamer! 0

The one who could command a Spirit Tamer must be one of his current peers. In other words, Xiao Yefeng was certain that a Geomancer had begun to rise for Zhu Ganglie. This Spirit Tamer's attack was merely a test from their side; if Xiao Yefeng were just an ordinary person who had practiced combat techniques, this Spirit Tamer might not pose much threat to him—but an unexpected illness could still occur. 0

Since learning Feng Shui Techniques, Xiao Yefeng realized that our world is not solely inhabited by humans; there exists an underworld filled with spirits and entities governing both realms. 0

While humans may consider themselves supreme beings among all creations, they are only at the top in a certain sense. From birth to death is all part of Reincarnation; perhaps some people do not believe in Causality and retribution. However, those truly capable of perceiving these three Boundary Persons would not argue otherwise. Humans are often complacent due to ignorance; once you encounter things you should not know about, you will realize how insignificant humanity truly is. 0

Most people do not believe in Causality because they see a scene like this: a poor man, diligent and simple, struggles throughout his life, spending all his money to build bridges and roads for his fellow villagers, doing good deeds. Yet in the end, he lives in poverty and dies in poverty, unable to have a peaceful end. First, he suddenly contracts leprosy, and the following year, he is struck dead by the Clear Sky Thunderbolt. 0

In contrast, another person from the same village has committed countless wrongdoings since birth, yet he lives to be a hundred years old and dies peacefully. With such stark examples before them, how can people still believe in Causality? 0

However, people only see half of the story. The other side is entirely different. The poor man has a wife who, after her husband is struck dead by the Clear Sky Thunderbolt and buried, mutters repeatedly at the burial site, “No eyes, Buddha Is Not Effective.” When her husband is laid to rest, she cracks her skull and uses her bloodied finger to write three large characters on his forehead: Buddha Is Not Effective! 0

But is it really true that Buddha is ineffective? Not at all. The emperor, late in life, finally has a son. However, when the prince is born, it is discovered that three large characters read Buddha Is Not Effective on his forehead. The prince cries day and night. In desperation, the emperor proclaims that anyone who can cure the prince's affliction shall be treated as royal kin. 0

Upon hearing this news, the poor man's wife rushes to the palace. She picks up the prince and sees that it is indeed her writing. Holding the prince close, she says: "With eyes, Buddha shows his power." 0

Immediately after those three words, the prince stops crying and begins to smile; the three characters vanish at once. The emperor is overjoyed and bestows upon the poor man's wife the title of Imperial Sister-in-law. She resides in the palace and enjoys wealth and honor without need for further mention. 0

What caused all this? It turns out that long before the poor man built bridges and roads for his fellow villagers, the local Fate Master—also known as the Kitchen God—had already petitioned above for him to receive good fortune. 0

However, upon reviewing his good deeds, it was discovered that he had endured great poverty in this life and would still suffer from leprosy in his next life. He was destined to die from a lightning strike; only through these three lifetimes of retribution could he balance out the grievances from his previous life. Yet since he had repented in this lifetime, it was decided that his past life would be considered as already passed away, granting him a future filled with glory instead. His wife supported his righteous actions; thus it was decreed that he would experience poverty in his first half of life but enjoy wealth in his latter half. This explains why he first contracted leprosy and then was struck by lightning. 0

Later on, when Earth Dwellers built a temple for him, they hung a couplet inscribed by a Wandering Master. 0

The first line reads: "Evil not extinguished; there must be residual virtue from past lives; when virtue is exhausted, destruction follows." 0

The second line states: "Good not flourishing; there must be residual calamity from past lives; when calamity is exhausted, prosperity follows." 0

It is said that later generations found "past lives" less clever than "ancestors," so some changed "past lives" in the couplet to "ancestors." 0

This story revolves around Causality, and it also touches upon the realms and the Underworld. However, raising spirits is a challenge to the Underworld, which is governed by Yin Si. The life and death of all people in the mortal world are under the jurisdiction of Yin Si, so the number remains constant. The Geomancer in the mortal realm serves as a transit station between the three realms, primarily assisting Yin Si in investigating matters of the human world. 0

Thus, the Geomancer possesses some abilities granted by Yin Si, and controlling wandering souls is one of those powers. However, since the first generation of Geomancers passed down their teachings, human hearts are inscrutable, and changes in people cannot be fully predicted even by the realms. Consequently, some Geomancers have taken alternative paths, exploiting loopholes and opposing Yin Si to seek personal gain. 0

The recently arrived Spirit Tamer is skilled in this regard. The Spirit Tamer can nurture spirits through feeding and rituals, with the most famous example being Zhong Kui, the Ghost King of Transcendence from Huaxia. 0

Zhong Kui was ostracized due to his appearance and died in front of the palace in frustration. However, after his death, Zhong Kui took on a role under Yin Si, specializing in capturing and punishing Evil Spirits. Gradually, he rose to become the Wandering Ghost King, standing alongside the Eighteen Ghost Kings and earning recognition from the realms. 0

Of course, this Spirit Tamer cannot be compared to Zhong Kui; even a sneeze from Zhong Kui could eliminate over a hundred such spirits. Nevertheless, since like-minded individuals have come forth, it would be impolite not to reciprocate. Xiao Yefeng decided to give a gift to this Spirit Tamer's master. 0

Just as the Pivot Pin and Silver Bell resonated moments ago, Xiao Yefeng secretly tampered with the Spirit Tamer. Once the Spirit Tamer returns to his master, Xiao Yefeng intends to make that person experience a punishment for mingling with evildoers. 0
