Despite receiving all of Xiao Yefeng's techniques, Demon Fox often missed critical opportunities due to his overwhelming desire to win.
Now that master and student faced each other again—one unaware of what power he had gained in the meantime and the other having remained silent for two years while inheriting family legacies—they both possessed unique strengths yet found themselves engaged in a fierce battle using their fighting skills just like two years ago.
They exchanged blows—grappling against grappling, disarming against disarming—drawing on their experiences as Xiao Yefeng narrowly avoided each lethal attack from Demon Fox. He flipped his hand to seize the knife and pointed a finger at a pressure point on Demon Fox’s arm. Instantly paralyzed by the pressure applied by Xiao Yefeng’s grip on the knife, Demon Fox lost control of it; in an instant, the dagger was snatched away from him. With his advantage gone and now at a disadvantage himself, fortunately for him during their struggle he had half of his body already outside the room. Although Xiao Yefeng intended to let Demon Fox go free initially, allowing him to escape so easily would be too embarrassing. With this thought in mind, Xiao Yefeng used the dagger he had taken as a throwing knife and shot it towards Demon Fox’s leg. Due to the layout of the courtyard and room positions, there was no way for Demon Fox to evade it; the dagger grazed past him and left a wound on his leg.
The dagger struck against the wall; however, despite being injured in his leg, Demon Fox did not slow down at all—instead he sprinted ahead while grabbing his own dagger for leverage as he leaped out of the courtyard. Thus it was that Demon Fox left Mei Family Old Residence at the cost of an injury. At that moment Mei Chuanqiong approached behind Xiao Yefeng who said: "Uncle Mei, thank you!"
Xiao Yefeng understood that Mei Chuanqiong was giving him face. If Mei Chuanqiong had ambushed the Demon Fox just now, then with the two of them attacking together, the Demon Fox would surely have been captured. However, at this moment, Mei Chuanqiong said, "Mr. Xiao, you are too polite. I can tell this guy has a trump card. I believe that if I join the battle, he will definitely reveal it. Although it had not yet taken shape, it was clear that someone had set up a trap while he and the Demon Fox were engaged in conversation and confrontation. Now that the Mei Family Old Residence was enveloped in Eerie Energy, Xiao Yefeng wasn't too worried about others because this Eerie Energy was evidently directed at them. What remained uncertain was whether the target was himself or Mei Chuanqiong.

Although Mei Chuanqiong had activated his vampire bloodline and could easily refine Blood Energy, he was still much weaker than Xiao Yefeng when it came to dealing with such things. After all, when it came to confronting spirits and phantoms, the inherited memories in Xiao Yefeng's mind were no joke.

He glanced at the clock on the wall and realized that there were only fifteen minutes left until the hour of the Rabbit arrived; that would be the crucial moment.
Meanwhile, Zhang Chuanhai was conversing with Xiao Yefeng within his body. Time was ticking away, and every passing second brought Xiao Yefeng and Mei Chuanqiong closer to their life-or-death moment. As the hour of the Rabbit approached, all spirits had to return to their hiding places. As a Spirit Tamer, they naturally had to return to their host's body. The reason for this was simple: when the rooster crowed three times at dawn, it marked the arrival of daybreak. At that moment, when the Ghost Gate closed and the rooster crowed, the sun would rise. Any lingering wandering spirits would be obliterated by the sun's true fire if they did not return to their rightful place.
Indeed, the Spirit Tamer outside did not intend to give them a chance. A gust of cold wind swept through, and Xiao Yefeng immediately felt a large hand trying to pull his consciousness into an illusion. In response, Xiao Yefeng silently recited Heart Decision. Dozens of iron chains made from Yin Qi surged forth to obscure the Eerie Energy while simultaneously charging toward the Spirit Tamer outside. These iron chains were originally used to bind Earthly Evil Spirits and served as weapons for all spirits that had advanced to become Earthbound Spirits. The Spirit Tamer outside clearly did not expect that there was a kindred spirit within Xiao Yefeng's body; thus, he was caught off guard when struck by the chains, causing much of his Eerie Energy to dissipate.
"Woo woo woo~"
As the Spirit Tamer was hit, a wailing sound echoed through the air, causing Xiao Yefeng's ears to ring. Mei Chuanqiong fared even worse; she found herself in a state of helplessness where she could see and hear everything but had no power to act. This was Mei Chuanqiong's predicament at that moment. However, once she fully integrated Dracula's Blood within her body, things would be different.
