As the Bagua Mirror absorbed Zhang Chuanhai's essence, at Xiao Yefeng's signal, Zhang Chuanhai withdrew his hand. At that moment, a gray stream of energy seemed to swirl within the glossy surface of the Bagua Mirror, representing Zhang Chuanhai's essence.

However, the image soon blurred, revealing a middle-aged woman who bore a striking resemblance to the earlier figure. She seemed to be leaning against a man beneath a massive building. Zhang Chuanhai's reflection disappeared again, replaced by Xiao Yefeng's own image as he tucked the Bagua Mirror into his embrace.
The strange scene had occurred because Xiao Yefeng and Zhang Chuanhai were on different paths—one living and one deceased. The Bagua Mirror was a treasure capable of bridging the realms of life and death; when infused with spiritual energy or magical power, it could reveal spirits. However, when this power was withdrawn, only living beings could be seen.
The stunning woman was undoubtedly Ling—the one Zhang Chuanhai had first encountered—and what appeared next was her current self. In fact, when Zhang Chuanhai handed over Ling's Birth Chart to Xiao Yefeng, he had already deduced her name through her birth details even though Zhang Chuanhai had not explicitly told him.
Jin Ling was born in the year 2026 of the Dragon Era on August 10th and was currently twenty-four years old. "Brother Zhang. Do you know where that is?" Xiao Yefeng could only turn to this local ghost for help.
At that moment, however, Zhang Chuanhai seemed lost in thought; it appeared that he hadn't heard Xiao Yefeng's question at all. Sensing this, Xiao Yefeng silently recited an incantation and gently touched Zhang Chuanhai with his finger. A surge of energy coursed through Zhang Chuanhai’s body, jolting him awake.
"What happened?" Zhang Chuanhai finally responded.
"Ah, we are on different paths! Brother Zhang, since you chose to let her go, you should forget about her. Now we need to find out where these two people are; do you know where they were just now?" Xiao Yefeng said with a hint of melancholy.
"It seems to be the night market next to the Fortune and Prosperity Building!" Zhang Chuanhai said.
"Let's go find them!" Xiao Yefeng exclaimed as he pulled out the Seven Star Needle stuck in the ground, ready to head over to meet the two individuals. However, he was stopped by Zhang Chuanhai, who said, "Bro, let's forget about it for today. The market closes at three in the morning, and if we go now, we might miss it!"
"Alright!" Xiao Yefeng sighed and abandoned his plan to rush over. Just as he was about to return to the Mei Family, a beam of Inspiration shot towards Zhang Chuanhai. Xiao Yefeng was momentarily stunned before quickly taking out the Bagua Mirror from his pocket. With a flick of his wrist, he captured Zhang Chuanhai within the Bagua Mirror. He then caught the mirror and began to trace a Spirit Talisman on its surface, concealing its aura.
Who could be tracking Zhang Chuanhai's soul and pinpointing his location? Xiao Yefeng had no time to ponder this as a piece of yellow paper floated down from the night sky, landing gracefully in front of him. The paper seemed almost alive as it elongated upon touching the ground, transforming into a humanoid Paper Man right before Xiao Yefeng's eyes. The Paper Man had Cinnabar markings on its forehead and a pair of red Cinnabar eyes fixed intently on Xiao Yefeng.
Seeing the Paper Man made Xiao Yefeng shudder involuntarily. Who was powerful enough to use such a technique? An external incarnation! Yes, Xiao Yefeng recalled this Geomancer spell from his memory—an external incarnation! It allowed one to connect their spiritual energy through a Spirit Talisman nurtured over many years. Transcendence enabled one to control their Spirit Talisman from thousands of miles away. If this truly was an external incarnation, there would be no need for Xiao Yefeng to resist; anyone capable of wielding such power would undoubtedly be a master with genuine spiritual energy, far beyond what Xiao Yefeng's False Spiritual Power could contend with.
Despite being intimidated by the external incarnation of the Paper Man, Xiao Yefeng's indomitable spirit drove him not to resign himself to fate even in what seemed like a life-or-death situation. At that moment, he drew the Seven Star Needle from his pocket with his left hand. There was no choice; since the opponent was an external incarnation, his usual combat skills were useless. Only this heirloom from the Xiao Family could provide some defense. Although he knew that even if he stabbed the Seven Star Needle into the Paper Man, it would likely be ineffective due to their vast difference in power.
At that moment, the Paper Man waved its right hand, unleashing a chilling wave of energy as a fist-sized Spirit Tamer emerged from its body, letting out a piercing wail that echoed through the air. The Paper Man commanded, "Hand over Zhang Chuanhai's ghost, or you will not escape unscathed!"
Upon hearing the Spirit Tamer's voice, Xiao Yefeng paused slightly before his tense expression began to relax. Casually lowering the Seven Star Needle in his palm, he took two steps forward toward the Paper Man and said, "What Zhang Chuanhai? It seems you are quite an expert among Geomancers; how could you wrongly accuse me of casually capturing souls? You should know that doing so would attract pursuit by Yin Si!"
After finishing his sentence, Xiao Yefeng moved forward another two steps; however, these steps were countered by two backward steps taken by the Paper Man. The Spirit Tamer warned him, "Step back! My power will harm you!"
Hearing this warning made Xiao Yefeng raise an eyebrow as he feigned confusion and asked, "Senior! May I ask if you are indeed an external incarnation?"
"External incarnation? You actually know about it! Very well; since you know, quickly hand over Zhang Chuanhai. Otherwise, I will report you to Yin Si and you won't be able to escape!" After saying this, the Paper Man waved its hand in a surprisingly human-like gesture of sympathy towards Xiao Yefeng.
Seizing this opportunity, Xiao Yefeng swiftly advanced forward and launched all seven Seven Star Needles directly at the vital points of the Paper Man's chest and head. Both the Paper Man and Spirit Tamer were caught off guard by this sudden attack from someone they thought was timid!
As the Spirit Tamer reacted first, the chilling Eerie Energy was about to strike the Silver Needle. However, at the moment of contact, the gem at the tail of the Seven Star Needle shimmered in harmony with the Silver Bell, producing a series of chimes. In an instant, the Eerie Energy evaporated, and the Spirit Tamer let out a scream. Yet, instead of retreating, the Spirit Tamer, fueled by rage after being struck by the Seven Star Needle, lunged directly at Xiao Yefeng, attempting to turn the tables.
But Xiao Yefeng would not let this trickster Paper Man escape so easily. The Seven Star Needle was unleashed and could not be called back. Although it was briefly blocked by the Spirit Tamer, it still shot towards the Paper Man. At that moment, the Paper Man attempted to evade the strange Silver Needle but it was too late. Six of the Seven Silver Needles, each adorned with a gem at their tails, were knocked to the ground by the Paper Man. However, the foremost needle, known as the Pivot Pin, lodged itself into the Paper Man's right ankle.
In an instant, flames erupted from where the Pivot Pin pierced. The Paper Man twisted left and right in an attempt to break free, but what appeared to be a light Silver Needle was as immovable as a mountain. The injured Spirit Tamer screamed even louder, transforming into a wisp of ghostly fire that charged towards Xiao Yefeng's chest. Yet Xiao Yefeng had something unexpected; hidden beneath his clothing was an ancient Bagua Mirror.
With a clang, the ghostly fire collided with Xiao Yefeng's chest, producing a sound like iron walls clashing. Following a piercing scream from the Spirit Tamer, it retreated back into the Paper Man's body.
"You think you're impressive? This grudge is now between us! You ruin my plans; I will make you pay back a thousandfold!" The Spirit Tamer's voice echoed from within the Paper Man as it seemed to have dispelled the Bagua Mirror's attack while boasting arrogantly.
"Hmph! Still calling yourself superior? That external manifestation is nothing but a superficial Ghost Control Talisman! You despicably harmed Zhang Chuanhai; I will make you pay back for your disgrace as a Geomancer!" Xiao Yefeng retorted as he picked up six fallen Silver Needles from the ground.
"Don't be so arrogant! Don't think you're the only one with treasured inheritances. If I weren't so far away right now, do you think you could handle me so easily? I advise you to let me go! Otherwise, being entangled by countless Evil Spirits is not something everyone can avoid!" The Spirit Tamer's tone softened slightly upon being called out about its Ghost Control Talisman, yet its arrogance remained evident.
Holding six Silver Needles in hand, Xiao Yefeng approached the pinned Paper Man with a faint smile and said, "Tell me where you've hidden Zhang Chuanhai's Life Banner, and I'll let you off for your painstakingly crafted Ghost Control Talisman. How about that for a deal?"
