After Li Ji stepped aside, Yuan Xun emerged, pulling a jade wolf hair brush from his bag. The moment Xiao Yefeng saw the brush, he felt all the Qi in the abandoned warehouse converge upon him. Yuan Xun then extracted a stack of Yellow Talismans from his pack, laid them flat on the hood of the car, and with his hands pressed together, brought the jade brush close to his brow.
Due to the distance, Xiao Yefeng couldn't hear the incantation that Yuan Xun was silently reciting. However, he soon witnessed Yuan Xun swiftly wielding the brush over the Yellow Talisman Paper, drawing more than twenty interconnected talismans in a flurry of motion. As if fearing someone would snatch it away, Yuan Xun quickly put away his brush and grabbed all the talismans with one hand before sitting cross-legged directly on the ground.
At this moment, Yuan Xun held his hands together, cradling the freshly drawn talismans. He sat in silence for nearly half an hour before suddenly opening his eyes and rapidly spreading his hands apart. To Xiao Yefeng's astonishment, the talismans trapped in his palms flew outwards in all directions. From his elevated position, Xiao Yefeng saw a total of sixteen Spirit Talismans take flight, eight in each hand.
The sixteen talismans fanned out like two large wings. Two of them brushed past Zhu Ganglie and Li Ji as they shot out. What should have been limp pieces of paper instead pierced into the wall crevices ahead like iron plates, even embedding themselves into gaps between some old machinery. Meanwhile, Yuan Xun did not pause; instead, he pulled out another talisman from within his robes—clearly one he had prepared earlier. He placed this new talisman at the center of the sixteen and began drawing symbols on the ground with his finger. Afterward, he stood up and declared, "Done!"
However, at this moment, Xiao Yefeng was confused, and Zhu Ganglie was equally perplexed. Zhu Ganglie exclaimed, "Mr. Yuan, you can't be joking! Even I know there's something wrong; Kitagawa won't step into the range of this talisman!"
Yuan Xun snorted dismissively and retorted, "What do you know?"
Then Yuan Xun formed a sword gesture with one hand, pointing his fingertip to his lips. After silently reciting a phrase, he pointed at the Yellow Talisman Paper on the ground, igniting it from a distance. The Yellow Talisman Paper transformed into a swirl of Azure Smoke and vanished without leaving a trace—not even a speck of ash remained. The scent of burnt talisman dissipated into the air with a chilling breeze, leaving no evidence behind.
Only Xiao Yefeng noticed that at the instant the Yellow Talisman disappeared, all sixteen talismans flickered simultaneously before vanishing in a flash of light. Yet Xiao Yefeng understood that Yuan Xun was indeed a master at setting up formations; this was not an area where he excelled. However, he realized that this Feng Shui formation was certainly not benign—it was primarily designed for slaughter.
At the same time, Xiao Yefeng recalled Zhu Ganglie's earlier words; it seemed this wasn't aimed at ambushing someone from the Mei Family but rather targeting someone named Kitagawa—a name that sounded distinctly like it belonged to someone from Wa Country! Why would they set a trap for someone from Wa Country here? Xiao Yefeng found himself utterly bewildered.
After everything was completed, the three returned to their vehicle. Zhu Ganglie stepped out alone and appeared to be holding something. Due to the dim lighting, Xiao Yefeng could only see Zhu Ganglie hanging an object in the center of Yuan Xun's formation on an overhead machine rack—something that swayed gently.
The three then drove away from the warehouse; however, Xiao Yefeng could tell they hadn't gone far but had instead turned off the engine nearby. Clearly, they were lying in wait for Kitagawa's arrival.
Although Xiao Yefeng didn't fully grasp Zhu Ganglie's intentions, he managed to analyze some aspects: it was evident that these three planned to deal with Kitagawa before negotiating with the Mei Family. As for their ultimate goal—Xiao Yefeng had no idea. Yet it was clear that this location was not meant for good deeds if it involved both murder and trade.
Taking out his phone, Xiao Yefeng sent a text message to Mei Yulou, informing him of everything he had discovered. Mei Yulou quickly replied, and after a brief exchange, they set a temporary plan: Xiao Yefeng would continue to lie low while the Mei family father and son revised their strategy. Mei Yulou would carry a replica of Dracula's Tooth for the trade, while Mei Chuanqiong would return and use all means necessary to strangle the Zhu family's business.
Xiao Yefeng was taken aback by how ruthless Mei Yulou and his son were; they were truly leaving no room for retreat. They intended to completely eliminate the Zhu family from Hangzhou. Soon after, Xiao Yefeng saw a man dressed in black rogue attire enter through the warehouse door, his face obscured by a black scarf and wearing a red sun visor. Upon seeing this man's outfit, Xiao Yefeng immediately recognized him as Kitagawa from Zhu Ganglie's group.
Rogue attire, black scarf covering his face, and a red sun visor—wasn't this reminiscent of Wa Country's ninjas? Clearly, Kitagawa was a surname from Wa Country, and his appearance confirmed it. At that moment, Kitagawa entered the warehouse cautiously; unlike Zhu Ganglie who had given him ample time, Kitagawa arrived slightly early. He glanced around the silent warehouse and noticed there was no one present. He then took off his backpack and began preparing his equipment.
From his elevated position, Xiao Yefeng could see figures outside the door—Zhu Ganglie and his companions were moving like ghosts outside, skillfully using various objects to conceal themselves. Their silent movements caught Xiao Yefeng off guard; he had long suspected Yuan Xun and Li Ji possessed exceptional skills capable of such stealth. However, he was astonished that even the rotund Zhu Ganglie could move silently as well. It became clear to Xiao Yefeng that he had underestimated Zhu Ganglie.
Initially thinking of Zhu Ganglie as merely a wealthy young master who spent money frivolously, it now appeared that he possessed some skills after all. This revelation caused Xiao Yefeng’s previous plans to shift slightly; however, judging by Zhu Ganglie's movements compared to Yuan Xun’s snake-like agility, it was evident that while Zhu Ganglie had some ability, he lacked significant combat prowess.
The three individuals outside halted their approach three meters from the warehouse entrance while Kitagawa inside continued setting traps. He even used his body as cover while applying something to various mechanisms. Xiao Yefeng observed everything closely; however, the trio outside remained unaware as Kitagawa jumped around inside setting up six or seven different traps. Coincidentally, Kitagawa failed to notice the pendant hanging on one of the machines belonging to Zhu Ganglie.
Finally, as Kitagawa placed one last crossbow trap into a gap in a machine, he completed all his setups. Perhaps it was fate that led him astray; just as he prepared to sit down for a moment’s rest after finishing everything up, a gust of wind blew through the room causing Zhu Ganglie’s pendant hanging on the machine to fall off. This pendant appeared to be made from an unknown stone; when it hit the concrete floor, it shattered into two pieces.
Seeing the two halves of the fallen pendant left Kitagawa momentarily stunned. Realizing he had fallen into a trap, he quickly drew out his Battle Blade from behind his back intending to escape. However, how could the three ambushers allow Kitagawa to leave? A Cross Mark shot through the doorway towards him while simultaneously a Yellow Talisman imbued with dark energy followed closely behind it.
"Baka! Zhu Ganglie, how dare you plot against me!" Kitagawa shouted in anger. It turned out that with the appearance of two attacks, Zhu Ganglie had already abandoned his disguise and stood at the entrance, guarding the only passage.
Despite the harsh words, Kitagawa was not one to back down. Gripping his Wakizashi, he swept it to deflect the Cross Mark, then swiftly turned and struck at the approaching Yellow Talisman. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng activated his Yin-Yang Eye, allowing him to see the Yin Qi on the Yellow Talisman and what Kitagawa had unleashed. The Yellow Talisman was clearly Yuan Xun's technique; it was not a Ghost Control Talisman but rather a piece of Yellow Talisman Paper imbued with Yin Qi, functioning as a hidden weapon just like Li Ji's Cross Mark.
However, through this exchange, Xiao Yefeng realized the gap between himself and Yuan Xun. At least he could not yet channel the Qi within him onto the talisman paper to use it as a projectile. Nevertheless, Xiao Yefeng had developed a unique Psychic Blade that few could activate, so in this regard, he still held his ground.
At that moment, a familiar figure appeared behind Kitagawa—a Shikigami clad in Ghost Mist Armor, wielding a Wakizashi.
