That year when Xiao Yefeng and Liu Xuanhuang were five years old, they passed the entrance examination and were selected for the reserve team where they met seven-year-old Mo Fei. The three fought side by side and quickly made a name for themselves within the reserve team. However, due to team composition differences, they eventually parted ways.
Each person's character determined their position; Liu Xuanhuang and Mo Fei were natural leaders. Although Xiao Yefeng also had leadership qualities, his exceptional skills as a Medic clarified his role. Additionally, due to Mo Fei's age difference, after the reserve team's term ended, he was selected into Virgo Squad while both Liu Xuanhuang and Xiao Yefeng remained in combat roles for various missions toward the same goal: earning enough points to leave.

After returning home, Mo Fei lost contact with Xiao Yefeng from their mercenary team but trusted that his two brothers would return safely. Thus, Mo Fei waited for two years.
By a twist of fate, Mo Fei was chosen by a reclusive master and thus became his disciple. While learning the craft, he waited for news. Two years ago, he received word that Liu Xuanhuang had died in battle during his final mission, and Xiao Yefeng had vanished after leaving the Zodiac.
In his grief and anger, Mo Fei made rapid progress, quickly crossing gaps that many Ancient Warriors could never bridge, advancing to Mingjing! In the following two years, to find more clues about Xiao Yefeng, Mo Fei joined the most mysterious official organization in Huaxia—the Zodiac Team—as an external member, thanks to his master's introduction.

After leaving the Zodiac, you chose to turn yourself in directly—where was I supposed to find you?" Mo Fei punched Xiao Yefeng playfully on the chest.
"I'm different from you. The team I was part of once completed an assassination mission. The target was a notorious crime lord with a long list of offenses. However, his identity was quite sensitive; although he was wanted in Huaxia, killing him would still violate Huaxia's laws.
