“Huazai! There's no need to be so tense! They're just a bunch of ordinary people. We used to not be afraid of them, and now we're even stronger. Taking down this village will only take a few minutes. If you agree, I guarantee I can make sure these people can't make a sound!” Azure Fox said, just as Xiao Yefeng heard a loud thud, clearly indicating that the man named Huazai had landed a solid punch on him.
“Get moving, no more nonsense! Otherwise, your medication for this month will be delayed!” Huazai's voice rang out, and before he could finish, Azure Fox had already seriously said, “Ahem! You two, follow me!”
This statement was made in Chinese, indicating that there were still Huaxia People in the room. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng was crouched by the wall; if the door opened, he would surely be discovered. Hearing footsteps inside, Xiao Yefeng rolled sideways and hid behind the wall. Just then, the door swung open to reveal a Western man less than six feet tall, sporting a golden buzz cut and dressed in a tight black combat suit, carrying an ion submachine gun. Following closely behind him were two men in standard Huaxia People attire, wearing military camouflage and holding silenced guns as they exited.
They also moved like Xiao Yefeng, climbing over walls instead of using the noisy iron door. After Azure Fox led the two men away, voices echoed again in the room. “Hurry up and find them! Those people are really troublesome; if that slave left any clues behind, damn it, we've turned everything upside down and found nothing!” said Evil Wolf.
“Don't rush! They must have left something; have you forgotten how they entered the base?” came Huazai's voice.
“They! A bunch of flashy butchers! I thought I was ruthless enough! They—” The voice in the room faded away as Xiao Yefeng remained silent.
Just then, Xiao Yefeng’s backpack brushed against the wall. Although it made only a faint rustling sound, everything around fell silent as if a mute button had been pressed; all sounds disappeared.
A rustling noise seemed to change suddenly. At that moment, four figures burst through the door: two in front and two behind. Their gear differed—black tight combat suits and military camouflage—but just as Xiao Yefeng prepared to pull the trigger, a pear-sized round canister was thrown into the corner.
Taking advantage of the moonlight, Xiao Yefeng recognized what it was mid-air and kicked it away with one foot. However, just two seconds after the canister flew out, a bright white light erupted like an arc from an electric welder. At that moment, a series of silenced gunshots rang out. Xiao Yefeng, hiding in the corner, dared not show his face.
“Damn it! How did we get discovered by someone from Huaxia? We can't stay here; Huaxia is the graveyard for Mercenaries. This person is likely from the Metaphysics Society. Retreat!” came Huazai's voice. Then came the roar of an engine as Bigfoot began to reverse quickly away from the scene. During this time, Xiao Yefeng didn’t dare to move because silenced gunfire continued to suppress his position.
With a flashbang explosion and an A16 silenced machine gun from the Evil Wolf Squad! When Xiao Yefeng stepped out from behind the wall, Bigfoot had already circled around to the back of the village. Instead of pursuing him, Xiao Yefeng grabbed his folding machine gun and ran toward the village entrance. This was Huang Gou Village, flanked by sheer cliffs with only one path leading out; anyone wanting to escape would have to use this village exit.
Finding cover, Xiao Yefeng set up his weapon at the village entrance. Sure enough, Bigfoot charged toward him like an arrow released from a bow. Before Evil Wolf could act, Xiao Yefeng took the initiative and fired first. The muzzle of his folding machine gun spat fire; however, under the cover of silenced weapons, it only produced faint sounds.
Yet again from inside Bigfoot, another flashbang was deployed successfully delaying them for three seconds. As Xiao Yefeng regained his vision, he saw that Bigfoot had already run far away. Without hesitation at this sight, he stepped out from cover and aimed his machine gun toward where Bigfoot had fled—this shot had to count; there would be no second chance with continuous fire losing stability—so he took just this one shot.
At that moment, on the Bigfoot vehicle leaving Huang Gou Village, Azure Fox stood atop the cabin, gazing out at the village entrance. It was he who had just thrown the flashbang, and now Azure Fox spoke up, "I can't believe it. One person managed to make our Evil Wolf Squad flee in disgrace. This has never happened before!"
"What’s there to be upset about? Our identities and positions are different. You know what kind of place Huaxia is. There’s only one team that has ever escaped after causing trouble here. Do you really think you can guarantee your safety after killing him and returning to the Constellation?" came the voice of Huazai from the driver's seat.
Just then, Azure Fox's blue eyes narrowed, and the rest of the Evil Wolf Squad felt a chill run down their spines, all silently thinking that something was wrong! At that moment, Evil Wolf shouted, "Turn hard right!"
Almost instinctively, the driver, a Huaxia People, gripped the steering wheel with all his might. The Bigfoot skidded in two large circles before finally coming to a stop. As everyone was still shaken, Azure Fox jumped out of the vehicle to check. Sure enough, there was a clear bullet hole on the rear side of the Fuel Tank, confirming what had just happened.
"Tsk tsk tsk! That marksmanship, that prediction! Who is this Huaxia People?" Although Azure Fox spoke lightly, his heart raced. If that shot had hit the Fuel Tank, these people would either be dead or in serious trouble.
However, as everyone returned to the vehicle in disbelief, Huazai sat in the driver's seat deep in thought. Seeing this, Evil Wolf immediately understood what his old partner was contemplating.
"What's wrong? Do you have a clue? Have you guessed who that person is? Is he from the Metaphysics Society? Or from the Zodiac Team? Judging by those skills just now, it should be someone from the Dragon Team!” said Evil Wolf, stroking his short beard.
"Dragon Team? My old friend Evil Wolf! I don’t believe you didn’t feel it. The kick that sent that flashbang flying and that near long-range shot at the Fuel Tank. Don’t you feel like this person is very familiar?" After adjusting his posture with his left arm supporting him, Huazai continued.
After glancing at his old friend, Evil Wolf thought for a moment and suddenly reached up to touch the notch on his left ear. Although it was now covered by a gold earring, such things could hardly conceal a flaw!
Touching the notch on his ear, Evil Wolf said, "Old friend, that person just now was Madman - Ye Feng!"
Huazai smiled and replied, "To use an old saying from Huaxia, that's about right!" Then he touched his exceptionally muscular right arm; under the moonlight, a glint of metal shone between the gap of his sleeve and glove.
"Stop the car!" Evil Wolf said in a low voice.
However, the driver did not hear this command and continued driving. Just then, Evil Wolf punched through the backrest of the driver's seat in frustration. Startled, the driver slammed on the brakes; the Bigfoot skidded for seven or eight meters before coming to a halt. Everyone in the communication device knew why this sudden stop happened, so no one dared hesitate. Although some of Huaxia's people were angry, they didn’t dare say anything.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier!" Evil Wolf said coldly.
"There’s no reason! If I had told you sooner, all of us would have been doomed!" Huazai replied, still as gentle and refined as ever.
But Evil Wolf was furious: "Don't you hate him for forcing you to amputate your arm? Do you not resent wearing this stiff prosthetic?"
In a fit of rage, Evil Wolf swung his right hand, and like a blade, Huazai's right sleeve was instantly torn apart. The metallic sheen of the prosthetic arm was revealed beneath the falling fabric. Huazai's right arm was entirely a mechanical limb, glinting pale under the moonlight. At that moment, Huazai smiled and said, "It doesn’t matter what’s right or wrong anymore. What happened back then was on the battlefield, and a battlefield is a place where it’s either kill or be killed. I think trading one arm for two lives is quite a bargain!"
"You! Sigh..." Evil Wolf helplessly leaned back in his seat. At that moment, Huazai patted the driver, Huaxia People, and said, "Let’s move quickly. The support from Huaxia is unparalleled; after all, this operation is already complete!" Huazai's words brought the team back to normalcy, while the silent Evil Wolf remained engulfed in anger. However, at that moment, Huazai spoke up again, and Bigfoot took off once more.
Inside Bigfoot's vehicle, Huazai was examining a stack of papers in his hands. Clearly, this was someone's ledger, and the hasty handwriting and chaotic records indicated that this person had only recorded out of necessity.
The last page contained several lines of scrawled notes: Boss Zhang hired four workers at three hundred per day: Old Zhou, Li, Zhang, A-Wang; location...
Before he could finish reading, Huazai had already placed the hastily written notes into a sealed bag and tucked it away securely. There was no doubt about Bigfoot's speed; they raced towards Landslide and soon arrived at their destination. At that moment, Azure Fox stood at the back of the vehicle and pulled out a remote control from his backpack. He gently pressed the red button.
In an instant, there was a thunderous boom! The rocks piled up on the road were blown away by explosives, revealing a path that wasn’t particularly smooth but sufficient for Bigfoot. The vehicle roared past and gradually disappeared. Only Evil Wolf in the driver's seat glanced back at the direction of the ravine. His tightly clenched fist betrayed his desire to kill Xiao Yefeng; however, a mission was a mission, and there was no time to waste.
"Crazy! Just wait; we will meet again soon! By then, you will fall into my hands!" Evil Wolf thought to himself as he gradually relaxed his creaking iron fist. Meanwhile, the rapidly growing spotted fur patterns began to fade away, and his sharp claws slowly retracted into his body.
