Just then, members of the Church, the new faction, the Divine Descent Society, and the White Robed Man's team seemed to reach a consensus and charged toward the light gate simultaneously.
However, at that instant, bursts of gunfire erupted from behind them. In an instant, one member of the new faction fell to the ground, shot. Another from Wa Country also went down, but the White Robed Man reacted quickly; as soon as gunfire rang out, all those targeted by Xiao Yefeng and Mo Fei swiftly drew shields to protect themselves from behind.
At this point, gunfire was no longer a concern. Everyone was already entangled together; their charge slowed down as weapons were aimed at nearby enemies. In an instant, battle resumed. "People grow; these tactics are learned from everyone!" Li Xiangjun replied.
As the four members of the Metaphysics Society approached the Light Gate, they found their path blocked by individuals adorned with the insignia of a new faction. Clearly, these people had no intention of allowing the Metaphysics Society to pass.
"Old Cao, prepare to push through! Give Feng a chance!" Li Xiangjun commanded.
At that moment, Cao Man took a deep breath, and a faint golden light began to glow around his fists. This was the first time Xiao Yefeng had witnessed a Peak Level Ancient Warrior launch an attack. Before Davis could continue speaking, Cao Man let out a powerful bellow, and a massive golden bull appeared behind him. His fists transformed into a pair of horns as he charged directly at the person blocking their way. Everyone was taken aback by the audacity of the Metaphysics Society to initiate an attack while surrounded.
Cao Man's punch sent the blocker flying, shattering their silver chest plate upon impact. The fragments pierced into the person's body, instantly killing an Inner Force level warrior from the new faction.
Xiao Yefeng recognized that brilliant light; it was the hue of V-Alloy. The fact that it was shattered by Cao Man's punch indicated that the alloy's defensive capabilities were lacking against an Ancient Warrior, though it was also a testament to Cao Man's overwhelming strength.
This sudden strike opened a path for them. In an instant, the four members of the Metaphysics Society rushed through the gap. However, just as they neared the Light Gate, a knight's spear lunged from the right, aimed directly at Xiao Yefeng's path. The spear's tip swept toward Mo Fei as well, forcing her to withdraw her foot just as she was about to step into the gate.
"You think you can just leave like this? That would be disrespectful to everyone who died in this chaos! The Metaphysics Society is trying to take advantage of us!" Davis shouted triumphantly after landing his strike. He quickly transitioned from thrusting to sweeping with his spear in an attempt to push back the four members of the Metaphysics Society. However, how could Cao Man and Li Xiangjun—both Peak Level warriors—be stopped by just Davis? In an instant, Xiao Yefeng saw a pair of dark iron fists crash against Davis's spear.
Under immense force, Davis had no choice but to retract his trembling spear. Just then, a chilling talisman appeared behind him. As he redirected his spear to pierce through the talisman, he saw that the members of the Metaphysics Society were about to enter the Light Gate. In frustration, Davis exclaimed, "Are you all fools? How does it benefit you for members of the Metaphysics Society to enter?"
His words ignited anger among those present. Blood Energy surged forth alongside beast claws and long blades; in an instant, Xiao Yefeng and Mo Fei—who had just intended to enter—were forced back and had no choice but to defend alongside Li Xiangjun and Cao Man.
While Li Xiangjun and Cao Man focused on countering Davis’s formidable presence, a mysterious figure in white robes silently approached through their defenses. Just as Xiao Yefeng noticed this intruder, he shouted a warning too late; the figure had already pointed a finger at Mo Fei's back.
Xiao Yefeng was too far away to intervene; he swung his short blade and launched a talisman at the assailant. Even if he managed to strike this White Robed Man, it would be an exchange of injuries.
At that moment, with one punch pushing back his own enemy, Cao Man swiftly placed his palm between Mo Fei and the White Robed Man. A flash of faint golden light erupted as he heard a crack; Cao Man had shattered the assailant's finger with his strike. Yet even then, the White Robed Man refused to relent and charged at both Mo Fei and Cao Man, resulting in all three being drawn into the Light Gate.
In an instant, only Xiao Yefeng and Li Xiangjun remained before the gate. Although Cao Man and Mo Fei had safely entered, this left a daunting challenge for the two remaining members since they now faced attacks meant for four.
Seeing three of them tumble into the Light Gate infuriated Davis. His elegant face twisted with rage as he glared at the leader of the White Robed Men across from him. "Are your people all fools? Helping Huaxia People enter the ruins?"
The White Robed Man ignored Davis entirely and muttered to himself, "What do you care? We’ve already sent one in!"
Davis was momentarily stunned by these words before realizing that this White Robed Man had no intention of helping anyone stop members of the Metaphysics Society; he simply aimed to enter through the Light Gate himself. Understanding this, Davis shouted, "Don't get entangled! Hurry up and go through!"
The people from Church rushed toward the Light Gate like a swarm, and at that moment, the remaining individuals realized that fighting over it would only give those who entered the gate more time. It was better to slip past others and enter the Light Gate first before engaging in battle.
The situation on the battlefield changed rapidly; just moments ago, two individuals were besieged, but now they had been abandoned by the crowd. Li Xiangjun and Xiao Yefeng exchanged a glance and turned to sprint toward the Light Gate. After all, they were the closest to it, and if there was no fight, why would anyone linger?
Li Xiangjun entered the Light Gate ahead of everyone else, but Xiao Yefeng was not as fortunate. Although he was closer than most, his speed had been hindered by the earlier chaos. Just as he reached the gate, he felt a grip on his backpack from behind.
"Where do you think you're going? Die!" shouted a Black man with poor Chinese as he swung a punch toward Xiao Yefeng's head. This man was the one holding onto Xiao Yefeng's backpack; without him, Xiao Yefeng would have already made it through.
Feeling the danger closing in, Xiao Yefeng quickly crouched down to evade the punch aimed at his head. He then spun around and delivered a powerful punch to the man's chest. A cracking sound echoed as he broke one of the man's ribs; whether or not it pierced any internal organs remained uncertain.
At that moment, Xiao Yefeng felt a surge of energy coursing through his limbs. All one hundred and twenty Symbol Bones had been activated. Although he lacked the enhancement from his genetic state, he utilized the Intercepting Finger technique with this punch. Even if his attacker survived, he would temporarily lose his ability to fight.
After pushing back his assailant with that punch, Xiao Yefeng stood outside the Light Gate, gazing at the crowd behind him. A bold idea struck him: since the gate was only so wide, perhaps he should guard it. After all, only one person could attack him at a time.
Resolute in his decision, Xiao Yefeng drew his short knife and positioned himself at the entrance, choosing not to enter. The crowd behind him was taken aback; they hadn't expected him to stand guard alone against so many enemies.

"Hmph! I may not be a saint," Xiao Yefeng replied coolly, "but I know that by stalling you for just one minute, my partners will have an extra minute to search. So if you want to enter the Light Gate, sorry but I’m going to hold you up for a while!" He glanced back at the distance between himself and the gate and calculated how long it would take before disappearing inside.
