At this moment, Blackie had completely undergone Beastification, resembling the Beastman that Xiao Yefeng had fought earlier. Blackie's skin was covered in a thick layer of dark gray, hard skin, and a long knife wound marred his short neck, blood continuously oozing from the cut. Unable to call for help due to the injury to his throat, Blackie could only attempt to break free.
Though he knew he was doomed, he hoped that if others could discover his body, it would expose Chen Si's identity. With the last bit of strength he could muster, Blackie charged toward the exit, but was blocked by a man wielding a Mechanical Longsword.
At this point, Blackie, on the brink of losing his life force, could barely see what was happening around him. Regardless, he was determined to knock down anyone in his path! As a user of the Enhanced Gene Serum, the Black Armored Rhino was one of the most formidable defensive creatures in the animal kingdom. This was evident as Blackie managed to retaliate even after sustaining a fatal injury.
However, Xiao Yefeng would not allow him to escape the room. The moment he noticed something was off with Blackie, he drew the Mechanical Longsword from the Tricolor Jade Ring. Channeling his spiritual energy into it, three gemstones lit up instantly, and a faint Light Blade appeared along the edge of the mechanical sword. Facing Blackie's charge head-on, Xiao Yefeng braced himself and executed a horizontal slash.
After a slight collision sound, a dripping noise followed as Xiao Yefeng retracted the Mechanical Longsword back into the Tricolor Jade Ring. Blackie fell heavily to the ground, a long gash cutting diagonally across his right shoulder. His dark gray skin was sliced open like tofu, and with Blackie's death, this infiltration was deemed a complete success.
Fortunately for the wealthy captives who had been captured by pirates, their mouths were gagged with rags; otherwise, they would have screamed in shock at the sight of blood splattering on them as Blackie died. Turning back, Xiao Yefeng noticed Liu Qing and his wife embracing each other in tears while Mu Ding held a silenced pistol that confirmed he had killed the last pirate.
The other captives remained bound by ropes and were still struggling to free themselves. The state of Liu Qing's family puzzled Xiao Yefeng; however, he knew this wasn't the time to dwell on such matters. He quickly drew his dagger and began cutting through their restraints.
Chen Si urged everyone, "Let's celebrate once we're free! Hurry up and help untie these people; we don't have much time left. In five minutes, another wave of guards will come to replace them. If we're trapped here, we're done for!"
With everyone working together to free one another from their bindings, it became clear that these wealthy individuals were quite helpless. The corpses they passed made it nearly impossible for them to move. Had Xiao Yefeng and Chen Si not stayed behind to threaten them at various points along their journey, they likely wouldn't have escaped this crisis even with half an hour more.
Under Chen Si's lead, they navigated around the guards and arrived at an abandoned earthen house that offered some semblance of safety. Just as they pulled in the last terrified wealthy man—who had soiled himself—an alarm blared throughout Poison Shark Island. Xiao Yefeng glanced at his watch; there were only a few minutes left before their coordinated attack with the Metaphysics Society began.
Inside the house, only Xiao Yefeng and Liu Qing's couple retained their composure. Upon further conversation, it became clear that since Liu Qing and his wife had been sent to Chen Si's room earlier that morning, Chen Si had briefed them on tonight's events. He provided Liu Qing with a small knife and Mu Ding with a silenced pistol. Together they staged an intense performance that successfully concealed their weapons.
Once back in captivity, Liu Qing used his knife to cut through their ropes while waiting for Chen Si's signal on his communicator. After two signals were received, they prepared to aim at the pirates guarding them. With perfect coordination among them all, they successfully escaped captivity. At that moment, Chen Si couldn't help but admire Xiao Yefeng—especially for that final strike which could determine everything.
If he hadn't intercepted them, no one would have made it out safely. Now both Xiao Yefeng and Chen Si had shared their backgrounds with each other. Xiao Yefeng wondered how Chen Si could rise unscathed after taking such heavy hits; it turned out that Chen Si had received Enhanced Gene Serum derived from highly purified forest gorillas which enhanced strength and physical attributes enough to withstand powerful attacks like those from Blackie.
At this moment, Chen Si had returned to the Venomous Shark camp. The recent events had already come to the attention of the Three Sharks, and the earlier commotion was a call for all High-Level members to convene. Since his identity had not yet been exposed, Chen Si needed to continue executing his mission and prepare for the impending attack from Huaxia.
"Can someone explain to me why eighteen Gene Warriors couldn't stop this attack? And what happened to those who were rescued? How many people were involved in the rescue? Damn it, are you all idiots? So many were taken away, and so many brothers were killed, and you didn't even notice?" Venomous Shark slammed his palm down on the table in front of him, his anger boiling over.
"Boss, we didn't detect any suspicious individuals at all!" a man sitting in a chair replied.
"You dare to defy me?" Venomous Shark was about to throw a punch at the pirate who spoke when Blood Shark grabbed his fist and said, "This isn't the brothers' fault. It seems we indeed have an insider among us. Those people couldn't have left this island, so there's no need to worry for now. The brothers who were killed were taken out with a single strike, which clearly indicates that there weren't many rescuers."
"Based on the wounds of the deceased, it seems there were about four or five attackers working simultaneously. Besides those wielding short knives, there was also someone skilled with a spear or long gun. These two must have died from long-range thrown spears or guns. The most crucial detail is how Blackie died!" Blood Shark analyzed as he looked at the bodies being carried back.
At that moment, Chen Si stood beside Blood Shark, admiring his analytical skills. Without any evidence other than observing the wounds, Blood Shark was able to deduce so much; he truly was the brain of the entire pirate crew.
Just then, a group of men and women in mercenary gear emerged from a corner of the hall. Upon seeing them, Blood Shark ceased speaking. Among the five-member team, the only woman said, "The loss wasn't unjust! Among those who ambushed us were Ability users or Huaxia's Geomancers. The circular marks are not from ordinary weapons; they are from frost-infused spiritual attacks. As for Blackie! He must have had his throat slit first, but due to the Black Armored Rhino's genes, he didn't die immediately. However, this attack is quite strange—could it be from a Laser Sword?"
Hearing her analysis, Blood Shark stood up and walked over to her. "Sister Wise Fox, do you have any thoughts on these deaths?"
"The ones who killed these people are experts, and one of them specializes in hidden weapons—these two are prime examples!" She kicked over a shirtless man; it was Venomous Fangs, who had been silenced by Xiao Yefeng's needle strike. Wise Fox then picked up a pair of tweezers from the table and extracted a Flying Needle from his throat.
"Moreover, this isn't what we should be focusing on. Our team believes there's an issue within your group; only with internal sabotage could such an incident occur!" Wise Fox casually wiped off the extracted Flying Needle and examined it closely.
"Who?" Venomous Shark scanned everyone in the room.
"Heh heh, do you think that person would stand up and say it's me? Instead of searching for an insider here, why not place people around the island? Since those who rescued dared to appear, then those waiting for them should show up too! Excuse me for a moment; our team has some internal matters to handle!" With that, Wise Fox gestured for her remaining four companions to follow her as they left the room.
At that moment, Venomous Shark looked around and asked, "What should we do?"
Blood Shark replied, "You're right, Wise Fox. We need to act quickly."
Before Blood Shark could finish, a deafening explosion echoed through the air. The sound of artillery fire served as a signal, and shells rained down on the entire camp like a torrential downpour, particularly targeting the Radar position and the surface-to-air missile site, which were almost instantly incapacitated. The rapid gunfire followed without pause, leaving the pirates of Poison Shark Island unable to lift their heads.
"Prepare to counterattack!" The hall erupted into chaos. Just then, a pirate rushed in and shouted, "Captains! It's bad! The attackers are all Gene Warriors, and they are equipped with superior armor. We can't match them in close combat or ranged attacks!"
"What? How could this happen? Did those people find out about our plan?" Venomous Shark exclaimed in shock.
"No, those people have Eastern features! Their flag seems to be the military flag of Huaxia!" the pirate said nervously.
"Huaxia has really taken action? This is bad! Everyone prepare for battle! We, Venomous Shark, are invincible!" Blood Shark's eyes darted as he pointed forward. The Three Sharks led the charge out of the hall. With their leader at the forefront, the desperate rogues found their courage and rushed out of the hall. Those who could transform into Beastification among the Gene Warriors did so, while others grabbed their guns and charged out to fight.
However, no one noticed that halfway through their charge, the Three Sharks had already vanished into the night. Only Chen Si glanced at everyone before pulling out another communicator. After a few words on it, he turned and dashed in another direction.
"Disarm and do not kill! Anyone who surrenders will be spared!" The leader of the Huaxia team was an officer dressed in loose combat gear, wielding a submachine gun. Under the advance of Huaxia's Gene Warrior forces, the long-standing pirates of Poison Shark Island were unable to resist. In less than three minutes since the battle began, hundreds of captured pirates had already been killed; most were simply shot dead on the spot.
"Commander! Azure Ear has sent word that Venomous Shark's group is fully prepared to counterattack. Moreover, Venomous Shark, Blood Shark, and Shark Killer have disappeared. Azure Ear has already set off to search for them!" reported a messenger.
