With that said, Xiao Yefeng slapped a nearby rock and dashed like lightning toward the approaching vehicles. Sophia glared fiercely at him before grabbing her spear and following suit. Meanwhile, Alu held onto his large knife and babbled something with Xiao Sifei before ultimately having to obey her orders and carry her along with other tribe members through several rear passages to escape.
Watching Xiao Yefeng's retreating figure filled Sophia with resentment. For over twenty years, she had never allowed anyone else to touch her body; yet during this one instance when she wanted to take advantage of him, this man had squeezed her tightly. Even now thinking about it made her chest burn with pain. Thus, while Sophia was furious with Xiao Yefeng for that incident—though she was not a native but rather an Asian woman raised here—she inherited much of the Earth Dweller's perspective and found herself quite curious about this man. While she wasn't at a point where she thought about having his children yet, she couldn't help but feel intrigued by him.

A branch with several tender shoots and three to five leaves was hurled by Xiao Yefeng, piercing through the hood of the leading SUV like a javelin. The one-and-a-half-meter-long branch impaled the front of the vehicle, driving it into the ground, while the engine of the damaged SUV sputtered and died. The two large trucks behind it screeched to a halt on either side.
"Who is it?" A furious shout erupted from within the SUV, followed by five figures leaping out. The group comprised individuals with black, white, and yellow skin tones, completing a colorful assembly. Soon after, over twenty armed mercenaries poured out from the two large trucks.
At this moment, Xiao Yefeng and Sophia stood in front of the vehicle, ready for an uneven confrontation against thirty opponents. Yet, despite the odds, Xiao Yefeng and Sophia exuded an overwhelming presence that suppressed the thirty-odd individuals before them.
Xiao Yefeng stood at the forefront, his attire shimmering in gold, blue, and green hues of Inspiration, while Sophia was enveloped in a crimson aura that highlighted Xiao Yefeng's figure. Together, they resembled a pair of formidable obstacles against what should have been a pack of wolves.
The five leaders were taken aback upon seeing Xiao Yefeng. He recognized them as members of Capricorn's mercenary team. Among them were three men and two women; one man and one woman had previously received battlefield first aid training under Xiao Yefeng's guidance. Although he wasn't familiar with the other three, they were acquaintances—familiar strangers who could easily turn hostile over a disagreement.
"I thought it was someone important; turns out it's the infamous mad instructor. What brings you here instead of staying put in Huaxia?" The leading man spat on the ground.
"Beast—York! So it's you!" Xiao Yefeng replied, eyeing the burly white man with a scorpion tattoo beneath his right eye.
"I heard you joined the Metaphysics Society and can now activate your genetic state to enter Beastification. Tsk tsk tsk, living quite freely!" York chuckled as he plucked a weed from the ground and chewed on its leaves.
"What do you want?" Xiao Yefeng cut straight to the point without wasting time on pleasantries.
"What? For years you've hidden in Huaxia while I couldn't touch you. Now you've come here looking for trouble; I'll send you to keep my brother company!" York's blue eyes glinted with a hint of red.
Xiao Yefeng offered no further explanation but calmly stated, "Your brother's lungs were shredded by shrapnel; even a god couldn't save him. There's nothing I can do." This referred to an incident from years ago when York's brother had been severely injured and brought to Xiao Yefeng for help but had died before any assistance could be rendered. Yet York had directed his vengeance towards Xiao Yefeng.
"You still act so nonchalant about it..."
"Dang!"
Before he could finish, a small stone shot directly towards York's throat. Fortunately, a man beside him, carrying a fan-shaped metal shield, reacted in time and raised the shield to block the stone; otherwise, he would have been facing death.
The attacker was none other than Xiao Yefeng. It was no joke; this was a battle of more than one against fifteen. If York's group had struck first, neither Xiao Yefeng nor Sophia would have stood a chance against the rain of bullets. Seizing the initiative, Xiao Yefeng waved his right hand behind him, and Sophia immediately understood. After kicking a stone away, the two charged towards the crowd, knowing that with their enemies outnumbering them and armed with firearms, they had to engage in close combat.
"Despicable!" York roared in anger upon realizing he had been ambushed. However, before he could finish cursing, there were several loud thuds as six of his armed teammates fell to the ground, stones embedded in their throats. It turned out that not only Sophia had attacked; Xiao Yefeng had also flung all the stones in his hand. With six men down before the fight even began, York let out a furious roar and activated his genes to enter Beastification.
Huang Zhong appeared with mottled grayish-white fur covering his exposed skin. His ears became pointed, and his teeth slightly protruded—he had inherited canine genes. This type of gene provided moderate strength but incredible speed. With a powerful push against the ground, he lunged at Xiao Yefeng. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng was swinging his arms in rapid succession, having already knocked down over ten opponents with his Flying Needles. Half of the ordinary Gene Warriors were already incapacitated before the battle truly began—this was disastrous!
"Ordinary warriors, activate Half-Beast Transformation to withstand Flying Needles and open fire!" A plain-looking Asian woman from York's team spoke up. She was one of two who had previously trained under Xiao Yefeng. They knew he was formidable; however, against a Peak Level powerhouse like him, their firearms would be ineffective unless they managed to ambush him.
Bullets flew wildly as Xiao Yefeng dodged them one by one. Not only could he evade them, but even Sophia managed to dodge most of them. The remaining bullets were deflected by her spear. Soon enough, Sophia reached the crowd where firing became impossible due to the sheer number of allies present. With her spear skillfully wielded, she single-handedly blocked the remaining ordinary Gene Warriors.
York's teammates initially aimed to take down Sophia first. However, just as four of them were about to move, a human bomb was thrown in front of them—it was York himself who had just charged at Xiao Yefeng. At that moment, there was a fist imprint on York's chest; if it weren't for his doubled skin defense from Beastification, that punch would have pierced right through him.
At this point, York realized the gap between himself and Xiao Yefeng. He was sent flying by a single punch and saw Xiao Yefeng attempting to rush over to assist Sophia. Gritting his teeth, York bellowed, "Everyone activate Beastification! Drag him down!"
With no prior camaraderie among them, the four immediately entered Beastification mode. The yellow-skinned woman transformed into a creature covered in brown fur resembling a canine fox gene; as for what kind of fox it was, Xiao Yefeng had no time to consider.
Another white woman sprouted gray feathers on her skin; she likely possessed avian genes akin to those of a crane. The last two black men transformed as well—one covered in leopard spots and the other clad in scales resembling crocodilian genes.
