Yet this was far more troublesome than the Spirit-Eating Insect, as the peak level of Qi around him slowed his movements without severing them. At that moment, York laughed maniacally and said, "Crazy fool, you're finished now! If I have to die, you're going to meet your maker with me!"
He was right; this Sealing Light was the latest product of Zodiac research, combining modern technology with cultivation methods and unique materials provided by the Star Master. As long as the user sacrificed their entire genetic makeup, it could result in mutual destruction. But would York really risk his life?
The Blood Mist gradually entered Xiao Yefeng's body. Upon sensing his flesh and blood, it began to ravenously consume him. At this moment, while Xiao Yefeng hesitated about whether to kill York or not, he realized that if he managed to eliminate him, he could obtain more treasures from the Capricorn Palace Master. The newly developed genetic Armor from Zodiac was particularly enticing!
With this thought in mind, York gritted his teeth and charged! He swung the still-glowing laser blade directly at Xiao Yefeng. But Xiao Yefeng had already resolved the issue; he was merely waiting for this moment. As the blade approached his neck by mere inches, he sprang into action. The fierce armor bore an image of a roaring beast. With water flowing around him, Xiao Yefeng reached out and grabbed York's wrist. The water-based spiritual energy condensed into a stream that evaporated under the heat of the Laser Blade, but due to its volume, it temporarily restrained the blade.
At that moment, as York looked on in disbelief at Xiao Yefeng, an ice blade formed from condensed water appeared in Xiao Yefeng's left hand. With a swift motion, he struck downwards; the ice blade sliced through York's defenses as easily as cutting through watermelon.
The skin enhanced by Beastification could not withstand this attack from Xiao Yefeng’s water-based weapon. His chest was immediately slashed open. Unfortunately for Xiao Yefeng, who intended to cut York's throat with that strike, York managed to dodge slightly, leaving only a one-inch deep wound on his chest—serious but not fatal.
Seeing the injury on his chest made York realize instantly that he was no match for Xiao Yefeng. It seemed that the threat from the Sealing Light had been neutralized; he held onto its hilt but felt his right hand shrivel up to mere skin and bones due to activating the Light Blade. At that moment, all he could think about was escaping!
At that moment, he was ruthless. A cold light erupted from the claws of his left hand as he slashed at his own left arm, severing his right arm cleanly. Surprisingly, no blood flowed from the severed limb, but he had no time to check; he turned and ran.
Seeing York's act of self-mutilation, Xiao Yefeng was taken aback, feeling a mix of shock and a hint of admiration. However, there were some things Xiao Yefeng needed to know, so he couldn't let this person escape. With a flick of his left hand, a two-foot-long ice blade shot out and embedded itself directly into York's back. Just like that, York fell to the ground, his life finally coming to an end. In his last moments, York seemed to feel that he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Having faced death multiple times, York had always managed to escape—either by betraying his teammates or fleeing first. He had always been on the run, but in the end, he could not escape; his sinful life had come to a close.
A flash of light from the Spirit Platform summoned Zhao Yin Gate. A ghostly light flickered as York's soul began to rise. Upon seeing Xiao Yefeng, York was momentarily stunned. Hadn't he just died? Why was he still able to see this person?
