There was no helping it; Wu Kui's appearance resembled that of the Shikigami from the Yin Yang Master of Wa Country. As soon as Wu Kui appeared, he rushed toward Xiao Yefeng's hand. The Qi within the spirit stone was drawn into Wu Kui's body, and then his eyes opened wide, shimmering with an unusual light.
"How does it feel?" Xiao Yefeng asked.
"Yes! I have some impressions; this sensation is very similar to what lies deep within my memories. There must be knowledge I seek hidden in that underground passage!" Wu Kui exclaimed excitedly.
Liu Entai glanced at Xiao Yefeng and then tugged at him, saying, "Bro! You are quite powerful as a Spirit Tamer. Is this aura related to Yin Si's top ten Ghost Generals?"
"Ghost Generals? That can't be!" Xiao Yefeng replied, but he thought that Ghost Generals probably wouldn't stand a chance against Wu Kui! In his heart, he had developed a bold theory about Wu Kui's identity. Although he couldn't be certain at present, it was highly likely; he just didn't know what purpose Wu Kui had for coming to this area and it seemed he wasn't here voluntarily!

The twenty or so Shikigami entangled around them had already been decimated by more than half; certainly, the contributions of the Yin-Yang Sword were significant. With its emergence, there wasn't even a trace of Eerie Energy within a radius of ten feet around him. As they fought through the swarm of Shikigami, it seemed that Wa Country had unleashed all its Shikigami from within the Demon Tower.
Twenty by twenty, countless Shikigami fell beneath the blade, yet the numbers showed no sign of diminishing. Thanks to the assistance of the Bagua Mirror's formation, otherwise, in this era devoid of Qi, Xiao Yefeng would have long since been exhausted.
On the other side, Wu Kui was reveling in the slaughter. It seemed he could absorb the power of these Shikigami, maintaining his combat strength from the beginning until now. Finally, Wu Kui encountered a worthy opponent—an old acquaintance of Xiao Yefeng, Abe Rōyu from the Abe Family. However, this time, Abe Rōyu was clad in samurai armor from Wa Country, adorned with numerous Onmyoji talismans.
As Wu Kui's spear approached his armor, it was weakened by the talismans. For a moment, the two were evenly matched in their duel. Just then, as Xiao Yefeng swung his sword, a golden cyan dragon swept away five surrounding Shikigami. The Shikigami that had encircled him finally vanished. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng noticed that more than a dozen exhausted Onmyoji lay on the ground; they appeared alive but had lost consciousness.
"Finally resolved!" Liu Entai wiped the sweat from his brow and said.
However, Xiao Yefeng was taken aback. After dealing with the Onmyoji ahead, he thought to himself that something was amiss! He immediately drew his sword and dashed downwards. Sure enough, several guards at the hidden entrance had already fallen, their throats slashed—clearly ambushed.

Leaving behind the severely depleted Liu Entai, Xiao Yefeng approached the secret passage. The large door had already been opened; evidently, the Wokou who entered first had some means of countering it. Seeing this scene made Xiao Yefeng immediately wary; unlike Wa Country's preparedness, he was completely in the dark!
With Observer's Eye activated—though not yet perfected—it still provided Xiao Yefeng with many advantages; at least he regained night vision!
Cautiously avoiding a narrow path meant for single-file movement, he approached four mounted cannons at the entrance. As he neared them, he realized something was off; these cannons were clearly not of Earthly origin. Their color resembled graphite and lacked any visible power source. The only dent indicated something had once been placed there but had since been removed.
Filled with confusion, Xiao Yefeng circled around the cannons and found that the space behind them opened up significantly. The walls were embedded with gray-green spirit stones; however, these stones could no longer be absorbed as they had been transformed into a light source. Continuing forward, Xiao Yefeng saw three corridors lined with unusual patterned floors: to his left was a corridor with pale red tiles that bore faint black streaks; to his right was a corridor with light blue tiles featuring hidden arrow patterns; and in the center was a corridor with golden tiles adorned with enticing metallic designs.
As Xiao Yefeng pondered which path to take, suddenly Wu Kui appeared before him. He reached out and brushed against the wall before saying, "Take the left path!"
With that, he pulled Xiao Yefeng into the corridor!
This passage twisted and turned until they arrived at a semi-circular structure standing two meters tall. The archway was covered in countless talismans and surrounded by dozens of watermelon-sized gemstones.
"Insert that fragment I gave you earlier into that groove!" Wu Kui instructed after carefully examining it.
Xiao Yefeng took out an inverted triangular fragment from his Jade Ring and directly placed it into the slot. Why did he follow Wu Kui’s instructions so readily? "What? Liu Entai, who guards Taiyu Island, is on the brink of death? Xiao Yefeng's life force has vanished? Immediately urge the second batch of reinforcements to rush to Taiyu Island!" Jiang Xing said as he looked at the documents that had been delivered.
"Luoyu and his team have successfully entered the ruins; that's great!" An elderly man dressed in luxurious clothing played with a Japanese folding fan while gazing at a landscape painting in front of him. Beside him knelt a woman in revealing attire, holding a fruit platter, her eyes filled with worry.
"Did they make it in time? I hope they don't fail!" said a figure who always lurked in the shadows.
Meanwhile, Xiao Yefeng felt as if his spirit was being drawn out by an invisible force. However, as he silently recited Heart Decision, three magical artifacts appeared around him: the Bagua Mirror protected his physical body, the Seven Star Needle sealed his dispersing spirit, and the Yin-Yang Sword cut through waves of force trying to breach his defenses. After a whirlwind of motion, Xiao Yefeng suppressed his urge to vomit and opened his eyes to look around. What he saw left him stunned—a Nine-Story Ancient Tower stood before him.
Countless floating ribbons danced in the wind. As they rose and fell, Xiao Yefeng realized they were all talismans meant to subdue demons. Most notably, nine large Apricot Yellow Flags were planted at the center of each level of the tower. From the outside, this nine-story tower appeared completely hollow. The Nine-Sided Apricot Yellow Banner bore powerful incantations written in large characters. What kind of tower was this? It emanated such strong demonic energy and intricate suppression formations!
